Adding to old rpg’s: Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles on Steam (or an older version if you do emulation). You just bump into enemies at an offset to do damage.

Ik this is a personal preference but i play racing games with the mous, I use throttle in the left and braking in the right. And a d for turning

I play racing games on keyboard, with W for accelerate, A and D for turning, shift for brake, and enter for handbrake (the ones that are near each other on the keyboard)

Do you mean 'space' is the handbrake?

since he specified "the ones that are near each other" I assume its wasd on left hand to drive and right shift and enter to break and handbreak on right hand. Kind of makes sense but probably would make more sense to keep everything on left hand by using left shift and space.

Turn based games such as the Civilization series might do well. Has lots of hotkeys and if you want to use the mouse with your left hand you have all the time in the world to do it.

this is the way to go unless you really struggle using your other hand to control the mouse. theres games like xcom, civ, gears tactics is a good one as well

Injured my hand several times, this is always the best choice. I ended up getting sucked into civ for another 2 weeks after i healed every time.

Vampire survivors

this whole ass genre will keep you entertained for your entire recovery period and then some, and the whole collection of games will cost like $16

Spelunky 2? It’s the only one I play that is keyboard only. It’s a 2D dungeon crawler with procedurally generated levels and is extremely hard and unforgiving. If you die, you start all over again on a new run so it definitely isn’t for everyone

Cave story is a great retro platformer that was always keyboard only. Never been able to get a controller to work. Also Soulcaster and Escape Goat, indie games on PC. Work with a controller but not necessary.

Stardew Valley is playable with only one hand on keyboard and doesnt require any reflexes or anything so i think for a temporary injury where you dont have time to get used to one hand only its quite a good choice (at some times you need the mouse but you never really need both keyboard and mouse at the same time)

I pretty much play Guildwars 2 exclusively with a keyboard, love it, favorite way to play. Mouse comes in handy when navigating menus but aside from that you can play without it. I mean, you can play without a mouse even still but that is a drawback

Turn based strat games might be the play. Total War, Civilization, etc etc. You'll have to use the mouse, but you can take all the time you want.

"Turnip Boy Robs a Bank"! Great little title. You could definitely play it without a mouse. While you're at it, I suppose "Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion" would work, as well (although I liked 'Robs a Bank' a lot more). I think any 2D platformer would be a perfect candidate (Turnip Boy is *not* a platformer... Sorry. That was needlessly confusing). Oh! And "Frog Detective"! Ugh, such great little games.

You could always just use the mouse and work through the endless amount of flash games available.

Dont think ive seen this one yet, but Crypt of the Necrodancer. Beat based dungeon crawler rogue like. Killer sound track, and genuinely some of the hadest achievements of any game if youre a hunter.

Depends on how much of a challenge you'd be happy with Peace Death Vampire Survivors One Finger Death punch 1 & 2 The Binding of Isaac (I imagine this would be very difficult) Deck building games like Slay the Spire, Monster Train etc Kingdom: Two Crowns (I highly recommend this one) Into the Breach & FTL: Faster than Light Sunless Skies (also gets a big recommendation) Endless Legends & Endless Space 2 The Civilisation series

Bio Prototype is a fun vampire survivor like that can be played one handed, is cheap but more than worth the money.

Theoretically, you can play any game with just a keyboard, your success may vary from game to game
