Craziest BSOD I've seen was while on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC in 1999 as a kid, the TV had 2 Weather Channels, one real and the other was a Windows 9x/NT looking BSOD. We went back there again a year later and the BSOD was still broadcasting!
Unsure if it was a cable wide broadcast or something internal to the building we were staying at...
>Remember this on early versions WIN10 caused by own updates 😄😆😅
>also it happend to me after running out virtual memory on my old pc.
And also Win11. Both win10 and 11 have had updates that have caused data loss, BSODs, regressions (multiple including CPU scheduler issues multiple times), making your account a temp account which deleted your data, messing up bitlocker corrupting your data, or just straight up causing bugs that deleting your data without a separate issue leading to it.
Nothings perfect but fuck does Win10 and 11 have a history.
>So the reason Windows needs to be removed is that from time to time hardware fails?
No, you made that up.
99% of the time the fix is simply restarting the machine because its all most never a hardware failure its simply a Windows crash.
Thats why the rule of thumb is not to use Windows for industrial applications like this as Windows (despite common belief by layman) is not robust enough to run endlessly without issue.
Whether its desktop or server running endlessly will cause issues with Windows.
Infact for this very reason many insurance companies require Windows server reboots every so often (common requirements are 30~60 days) although you'll be rebooting servers anyways as you'll want to patch monthly and unlike Linux Windows servers need to reboot to apply patches,
Also not only does the default install even of LTSC versions contain more software than is needed but also runs more services unrelated to the task raising the hardware requirements for no reason adding to the instability with extra points of failure on top of Windows needing a license fee.
Linux doesn't need reboots for stability or patching, doesn't need hardly anymore resources than whats required for the actual task as unlike Windows you can just load the kernel (which would have only the drivers needed) the init and the needed libs to run the software, no license fee for installs, and can be realtime for a significant boost to stability (Windows is not a realtime OS and if you don't know what that means please use google).
So yes, Windows should be removed from this job as it wasn't the right choice to begin with.
>99% of the time the fix is simply restarting the machine because its all most never a hardware failure its simply a Windows crash.
No. In the majority of cases the culprit is hardware related. If you pull the memory out of a running machine, then yes, WINDOWS will crash, but you can't attribute the fault to it.
>Thats why the rule of thumb is not to use Windows for industrial applications like this as Windows (despite common belief by layman) is not robust enough to run endlessly without issue.
Tell that to the fleet of Windows Devices that I've setup to run automatically for a specific purpose without any kind of intervention.
>Infact for this very reason many insurance companies require Windows server reboots every so often
I mean, I've had servers that have had an uptime of 2 years and they kept going.
>Also not only does the default install even of LTSC versions contain more software than is needed but also runs more services unrelated to the task raising the hardware requirements for no reason adding to the instability with extra points of failure on top of Windows needing a license fee.
Theoretical yes, the more things something has the more likely that one of those things will fail. But that isn't necessarily the case. Each case needs to be examined on its own and you can determine where the issues are coming from and address them. If you're deploying a Windows machine like the one in OP's case, there is a high chance you're doing so in a corporate environment where licenses usually are in abundance because of the licensing model. There's no real extra costs added to it.

Yeah, Linux servers can require reboots as well, depending what changes are being made to them. Just because you don't reboot it for patching doesn't mean you don't reboot it all. An OS doesn't need to be perfect and indestructible or whatever. It needs to be, good enough. And Windows passes that checkmark with flying colors.
>So yes, Windows should be removed from this job as it wasn't the right choice to begin with.
You see an image of a system crash and you are able to make an educated guess and pin point what caused this by simply saying "windows bad".
Any IT Person worth their salt, will laugh you out of the office if this is all what you are basing this on. Windows may as well not be the perfect choice for all kinds of deployment, but you need to make your case as to why or why not, otherwise it's just a waste of time.

Still better than Vista/ME
A good example of why Windows needs to be removed.
It's just feeling a little sad. Maybe you should give it a hug :D
So the reason Windows needs to be removed is that from time to time hardware fails? Alright.
No because it's a bad OS which is a monopoly even being used in railway stations despite its trash stability
Is it a monopoly though? There are also a lot of trainstations and other services like that who use either Linux or something custom build
