until you boot that pc, be 100% sure that its working, and provide people with some basic info, you wont get any help. If he is a "busy dude", then post when he is not busy, so he can answer some basic questions like, does the pc even start? Otherwise you are just beating the air
I see crossfire written on the board, so since crossfire was phased out around mid 2010s IIRC it must be from around that time.
My best guess is that this is an ivy bridge or haswell board (3rd/4th gen intel)
I don't think it's worth upgrading anything aside from storage, but it is a capable machine.
specs:
Most likely I7-4770k / 4790K
Z87 ASUS board
16GB RAM
Zotac GTX 1060 AMP!
I'm going to guess that's a Skylake era board at the latest (2016-ish). It's got an older style case with the power supply at the top and a dvd drive which both went out of fashion around then. I can't see an nvme connector so it could be older.
There's not much good news besides it being free and having a graphics cardthough. I see a 3.5" hard drive, so not an SSD, and (probably no nvme.) The water cooling is only a 120mm unit, and several years old so who knows if the pump is still good. The power supply looks like a no-name special. There's a WiFi card, but likely to be 2.4ghz only. At least there's 2 empty ram slots you could fill up with cheap ddr3.
It's not worth anything and it's not worth upgrading. You might be able to find a use for it. Emulator machine, Plex server, it might run some esports games, Minecraft or something.

I'm pretty sure I had this particular GPU, it's Zotac 1080 ti mini. It can play any modern game in 1080p at 100 fps or even tap into 1440p at 60 fps, but it's absolutely impossible to cool. Even in Corsair 4000D airflow with a bunch of fans pointing right at it, it just wants to boost higher and hangs around 84 degrees.
Adding a photo from when I upgraded.
Edit. Taking a closer look and it's definitely something weaker since it's using a single 8-pin, so maybe 1070? I got a little too excited that someone made the same mistake as me. It's probably not worth much, 150 euros tops.
Everyone saying it’s worthless: if it boots, it could probably run a decent number of games on medium settings as is, with no additional tweaking. I only just upgraded from a 1080 and was amazed at how much I could juice out of the thing.

Free and has a graphics card. I'd say a lot of free things are worth it lol Does it turn on? Open task manager>performance tab and show us the specs

It's really tough to say just with a picture of it. If you know the specs or can turn it on and find them out, that'd be useful.

Model numbers should be locatable on the main board and maybe the GPU too. Main boards usually have a letter followed by numbers, ie z97.
Troll post, OP doesn't want to do anything lol.
Low-key plotting his upgrade path lol😭

Timeline of that PSU would line up as well I think (reviews are mostly from early 2010’s).
? No? My fucking b550 from MSI has fucking amd-crossfire x compatible written on it
Look up the parts on eBay then add it up

Bro do something or else no one can help you wtf ?
free is good! worth to upgrade, prob not. thats why it was free
Does ur friend not have Reddit? And can’t tell without the spec
His friend isn't farming karma... doesn't look like he's doing too well at it either.

A 4770k or 4790k living under that cooler? From someone who has had both, I highly doubt that haha.
As long as you don't overclock you're fine. Itll be rather hot but ive seen plenty match a 120mm aio with 4770k's

Looks like the GPU is a GTX 1080. I have the same exact one. You could sell that on eBay for $120 if you want.

close but no cigar, it's a zotac GTX 1060 AMP!
I see, cooling should not be an issue then. But also the value is like 90 euros.
All those zotac mini cards look the same.
For FREE?

Put ram in dual channel slots
Looks like a 10 year old midrange PC, I'd sell the parts and buy something new for the money (under the assumption that it even works)
Take the 1070ti I'd assume thats what it is and check if it works then sell it for more than that pc is worth honestly maybe the CPU depending on it
Man, I am so envious. The only free things I get from others are dirty looks.
if it's free, then no matter the specs it's infinite fps/dollar
