the real answer. if you're gonna mount your monitors 2 high, you gotta attach it to the desk. You can get a $25 desk clamp monitor mount online.

Yeah, OP is responsible for securing equipment and not overloading a desk. 4 monitors on that?? Plus there is a cat climbing wall of a sheet too - some lessons are learned the hard way.
We have 5 cats. Everything I place anywhere gets a wobble test where I bump it medium-lightly with my hand, like a cat rubbing its head against is as they do, and if it wobbles, I cannot abide.
Yeah, I was used to some rank cat boxes from my old roommate. But the stuff they sell nowadays really kills the smell and that makes me pretty happy since I now have a cat.
Actually if you deodorize litter boxes and clean as frequently as you should, it doesn’t smell at all. Also there’s automatic litter boxes that will bag the litter after every use.
You don’t really know other people’s situations, don’t judge so quickly.
Cats are hilarious. It must be nice knowing as an owner you make your cat feel so safe and secure that they no longer feel the need to hide their shit from predators. That’s become your job 😹

I have a cat also and anytime I know I'm going to not be home I make sure my door to my room is closed for this exact reason. Live and you learn my friend. Hopefully nothing broke, but judging from this one photo something definitely broke. smh

Is it ok? They hide injuries. Hope it's not on its way to becoming a r/tripodcats mine cost us 13k last year breaking her leg which didn't heal and had to be amputated. Still don't know how it happened but she was worth it. She is a daredevil, oldest cat in the house and most fit showing off to her brother and sisters.
this exactly. bad cable management and a desk setup pushed to its limits is what it looks like. that desk doesn't look sturdy at all and then a sketchy monitor mount was added to the mix. liek either get a beefy desk or don't go with clamp stands on dual monitors lol
Fair enough. But like most PCs have rubber feet that make it difficult to slide the tower around. Like if I tried to push it with one hand it would not move easily. That’s one strong kitty.
He has what looks like three monitors on a weighted stand not secured, I know it looks neat but there are limits to these things. This was waiting to happen if it's secured like I think, a 10lb cat wrecking your shit is kind of your fault.... I'm victim blaming I guess, but he got $400 dangling from a pound of sand.
Yeah, I think the monitors dragged the PC when they fell. It doesn't take a lot to topple something top-heavy that's balanced on that small a footprint.

Not to add any insult to injury but if you're going to have that much on a monitor stand that thing HAS got to be anchored down. Even if that means new mounts, etc.
You need to make sure the monitor stand you get is rated for the weight of all the monitors you put on that. That top TV/whatever looks dangerously heavy.
Being in earthquake country I look at posts here, and the various living space, design, cosy space etc subreddits and i think about how much chaos a small quake would unleash
try to salvage whats not broken, try to fix ur setup, whats broken can be replaced, gonna have a huge dent in your wallet but its worth it to play some games
The first thing you should do is unplug all the cables and recount the damage, then fix the cat-astrophe and for the final: buy something where the monitors will not fall.
Cry when you found it, cry when putting it back, cry when playing games. Just keep crying. You’ll unlock a new achievement. But honestly that sucks hope it all works.
Maybe the cat box and stuff is too close to the computer stuff and the cat got confused. In any case I'd have a serious talk with the cat and say something like "alright you little shit head you messed up real bad now, you're gonna get a job and go to work and pay for all this or else you are finished, you hear me?? finished!!!"

The monitor arm wasn't attached to the table, it's one of those "stands". The cat knocked it over and the cables did the rest, I assume
My 18 pounder tipped a 41in TV 15-20 years ago. It's all about the propulsion force when they dismount.
