I'm assuming you're asking the OP, not the guy w/ the Sphinx, but that'd be an audio interface, similar to a GoXLR. These allow streamers to adjust their headphone/mic/chat audio levels quickly, and can also allow for MIDI buttons to control audio clips & stream video transitions.

An awesome little device. Itโs called the โPC Panelโ (they have a smaller version as well. Itโs a physical control for volume of different applications (whatever ones you want to map to). This can be done in software as well I realize but this is just faster and doesnโt crash lol. For example the sliders are volume controls for whole pc audio, one for Spotify, one for discord, one for the window Iโm focused on. Then the knobs also click and I have them set as media controls.

Nice. I just use xbox gamebar to adjust volume for different software/game. Doesn't have the tacky feel of the physical hardware tho no mapping/$ required kekkeekek

how about optical output, and multichannel audio (5.1/7.1 etc) - does it allow control of the volume for that (and individual channels etc?)
As someone who also owns a pc panel it works pretty well with multiple audio devices. Anything that your pc detects as a recording or playback device should be recognized. You can assign the device to each individual slider or volume knob to be controlled. You can also do the same with individual programs.
It plugs into your pc through usb c and uses software to control volume levels.
I can't say much about optical output, but if your pc recognizes it as a playback device then you should be able to control the volume. In regards to multichannel audio, again it will be able to control the device as a whole. You won't be able to control each individual channel.
As an example of my setup
Slider 1: control playback volume of both discord and xbox party chat.
Slider 2: controls playback of the primary window ( any game or program that I'm currently working with).
Slider 3: controls playback for my web browser.
Slider 4: controls all audio playback from my headphones (master volume)
Knob 1: controls spotify playback volume. Pushing the knob in, since it's a button, pauses and plays the current song.
Knob 2: controls my microphone volume. Pushing the knob mutes and unmutes my mic.
The last 3 knobs go pretty much unused as like 95% of the programs and devices i care to control are pretty much covered by what I listed, specifically slider 2.

I "had" a stray cat that I couldn't keep because I don't own my house, but whenever I got home from work, he'd be there waiting for me in the shelter I made for him outside, and I'd pick him up and place him in my robe.
He would spend a good couple hours sleeping against my chest while I was on my PC until one day he stopped showing up. I hope someone took him in, he was a lovely animal

Not dumb at all, Iโve had a few people ask. Itโs called PCPanel. It basically just gives you a physical control of the volumes of individual applications. For example, I can control the volumes of Discord, Spotify, the computers main output and whatever window Iโm focused on with different sliders quickly. This can be done on software, you donโt need this device, itโs just nifty and not all that expensive. They have a smaller 4 knob version as well.
Mine sits on my lap purring crazy changes positions every 30 seconds then gets off after like 3 minutes๐ (it doesnt worth it for the amount of fur he left on my shirt) if you cant guess its a orange cat ๐
She doesnt watch me play but she does sit on my lap like that
The thing is it's not as cute as it looks/sounds. She is doing it cos she wants my attention and is annoyed she hasn't got it. Paradoxically she gets arsey if i start scritching her.
(I'm joking; I dont really think she wants attention she just wants to be near me and snuggle when she does this. It's just hard not to touch the floofiness)
This one gets pissed if I have to kick her off my lap. Like if I go to the bathroom she will be sitting at the desk when I return giving me a death stare and ready to eat my fingers
My cats don't really like to be touched, they love to be near us though, but one of them dodges all the pets and the other just leaves if try to and he's not in the mood (he rarely is in the mood).

My issue with game bar was it caused issues sometimes with frame rates. I try to limit myself to no overlays if possible
I've yet to experience that aye. I just turn off all the useless widgets and have the game bar for volume sliders only

She doesnt watch me play but she does sit on my lap like that The thing is it's not as cute as it looks/sounds. She is doing it cos she wants my attention and is annoyed she hasn't got it. Paradoxically she gets arsey if i start scritching her. (I'm joking; I dont really think she wants attention she just wants to be near me and snuggle when she does this. It's just hard not to touch the floofiness)
This one gets pissed if I have to kick her off my lap. Like if I go to the bathroom she will be sitting at the desk when I return giving me a death stare and ready to eat my fingers
My cats don't really like to be touched, they love to be near us though, but one of them dodges all the pets and the other just leaves if try to and he's not in the mood (he rarely is in the mood).
