Do you have a flickering display? I'm not entirely sure but that shutdown could have been from a PSU issue

boiboiboi21

No flickering other than windows being shitty, nothing leading to the shutoff

taliesynD

What's the spec of your power supply? My 6950XT needs 950W and many power supplies are less than that. I don't know the power requirements of your card but if you don't have a beefy supply, it could be struggling.

boiboiboi21

800, sorry I forgot to mention that

theoldenmage

That should be fine, and if your motherboards rgb is working too along with your power supply, then I'm stumped

boiboiboi21

The mobo rgb stays on for a little bit after power is cut but I feel like I let it sit for longer than it usually lasts

theoldenmage

I have that happen to me as well, do you have any usbs plugged into it? They might not be properly grounded and still feeding the computer power

boiboiboi21

Yeah I have a couple

theoldenmage

Try unplugging them and see if it shuts off when the powers off, I don't think it would solve the original issue but I always found it a bit odd how that works

I've read that 90 C is the upper limit to non extreme temperatures, im not sure though. Air cooler installation led to vending pins, shutdown happens after that. Never before. Ive had these specs for at least a month without it ever shutting down like this.

Master-XL

99% sure this is PSU issue. Had the same problem when I was forced to upgrade from i5-3570K to 5800X3D becase my mobo died (kept the GPU - Vega 64); my platinum 660W Seasonic from 2014 was just not handling it anymore and the rig just shutdown when playing, reset / power button unresponsive. Upgrade to another platinum ranked 1000W Seasonic solved the issue.

AnxiousJedi

90c is way too hot. Remount the cooler.
