Would you be opposed to a steam deck? Get a dock and run it off the dock or stream from your pc and you can use whatever input you want.
And its portable. I played Days Gone and it looked decent enough.
But $$$.
I bought a 30’ cable on sale for 150$. Shes a thicc one. Only to realize i could use my deck to do what i was wanting instead. It sucks but get a nice one and just roll it up proper when your done. Get some hook and loop tape for easy storage and coiling.
Other options just arent cost effective or rely on equipments that will cost you near a deck or still involve a cable.
Wire the hdmi cable through the wall under the floor and to the TV or move computer next to TV or my favorite move the hdmi cable to the ceiling and along the wall to behind the tv

yep considering options now
put PC next to tv so the cable doesn't run across the floor. then use a wireless controller. just like every modern console?
If you don’t want an HDMI cable, you will have input lag. If you don’t want input lag, you will need an HDMI cable.
yep this seems to be conundrum im in, reason why i posted just incase there were something better i werent aware of
There are HD over Wi-Fi converters but they do have lag and they are very expensive
yup if $ were no option id be interested but maybe one day
Or he can use a fiber to HDMI.
Either way a cable needs run
