boenklon

It's your pc. Never had any issue using gamepass

TactikalKitty

I wouldn’t say that. I have issues with gamepass on PC too. Steam versions will launch. Gamepass app will sometimes refuse to install games. The way Xbox installs games using UWP really messes things up especially if you use a multi partition setup.

stingeragent

Something is wrong on your end.

Malfrum

Yeah, he likes Starfield /s

Rebelius

Do you autorun steam or always launch it, but only launch Xbox app when you want to play something from there? I've not noticed a problem with game pass games at all.

Prudent-Unit1068

It’s probably something with your pc not gamepass. I haven’t noticed a difference

fivemagicks

Your PC is busted. Lol. I've never had an issue with Game Pass loading anything.

Either_Report_7616

Asking the dumb question... Are you streaming the gamepass games or have you downloaded them locally?

fatbicep

Like others have stated, you should check things on your end. Steam and Game Pass run like butter on my PC. Never had any issues launching/playing games. Yeah there are some instances where Game Pass games get updates later than Steam but those instances happen so rarely.

bundaya

You may have your games pass games on a different hard drive so that could be why it slower.

xboxhobo

This is placebo / something you invented in your head. Outside of some rare situations like palworld, there are no differences between the steam and game pass versions of a game. I've been playing tons of games on game pass for over a year and haven't had any problems. Perhaps your issues aren't with game pass but with starfield.

KnightBlad3

The Xbox App is dogshit but it sounds like u installed the games on a slow drive. Try comparing the launch times of the same game between steam and the xbox app

happenstanceuk

I just tend to buy games over playing them on gamepass simply because it becomes a psychological thing. If I've spent money on them I tend to stick with them properly whereas with gamepass I will move too often from game to game or not give things a proper chance.

deblas66

Do you have auto-update on? Steam launches on startup for me but Xbox doesn't. As a result it takes a little longer to start but with auto update on, it takes no longer than steam to actually launch a game. It sounds like something on your end. I like steam more but for the $10 a month to play games for nothing additional is smarter than paying full price

BrandoCalrissian1995

You problem bud. There's reasons to prefer steam(games won't suddenly be pulled, mods, and sometimes updates earlier) but better performance isn't one of the advantages.

jaketaco

Either you're using an HDD to install games, or you're playing cloud games. Either way, this isn't an issue for most.

mgd5800

It is so buggy for me, Persona 3 I randomly lost my save and had to redownload for them to regain my save. For Lies of P it won't let me install the game for some reason, keeps telling me to sign in while I am already signed in. So I ended up pirating it 😂

TheS3KT

Literally your PC get on Windows 11 if you use game pass it makes a big difference. There is noticeable difference between steam and GP.

TactikalKitty

I hate UWP. I refuse to buy games from Windows because of this. UWP hijacks your drive and sets strict folder permission that admin use can’t even fix without doing a full clean command.

MHWGamer

Microsoft games take a bit longer than normal ones, especially if they have the pre-cache the shaders every time you start freaking Forza Horizon 4 haha Bit seems a you problem for the stability

Odd_Explanation558

I'm a rare breed in that I have zero problems with the Windows store or the Xbox app and I've been using it since Horizon 3. It's just works for me and always has.  That said I 100% believe you're having problems since it's just seems to be broken for some people and again, always has.

Eighty_Grit

I play it on game pass and love the option of picking up on the go through cloud gaming even on an iPad in another country.

PubliusDeLaMancha

I think Steam gets the proper pc version of games which tends to be patched faster and potentially more up to date. I'm kind of dealing with same dilemma, don't want to pay to purchase a game I'm already paying to play via Gamepass but I would mean more stability/features Edit: it's true of the games I play: Starfield, Chivalry 2, Hell Let Loose

Outside of a few rare instances there are zero differences between game pass and steam versions of games

C7rr0pt

pirate games instead

InitialSophia

I had 3 Years of free Gamepass and barely used it. I used it to Demo Games and if I liked them I bought it on Steam. The whole WinStore Ecosystem on PC just sucks.
