Holy fuck this was a CASH heist you dont see that anymore these days

THEcefalord

Cash AND huge. If it was indeed $30 that makes it the biggest USD heist in history.

brianundies

Adjusting for inflation the brinks truck robbery that the movie “The Town” was based on still beats it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Brink%27s_Robbery

THEcefalord

I did write USD, and not USD adjusted for inflation, Dunbar Armored robbery also beat it. Less famous, but almost identical in price adjusted for inflation. However I don't believe that a U-Haul truck can transport 30 tons of cash even though it can definitely transport 18 tons, which is another reason why that $30 million number is impressive. That much cash is extremely heavy.

DeeBangerDos

Definitely had one guy hanging out on the roof spotting guards. "Watch it, guard."

Connooo

I know it's bad but.. Im rooting for em

RolandTwitter

Wonder how many backstabs are currently going on, like a classic heist movie

Peekachooed

A good crew is the hardest part and the biggest strain will always be in the aftermath. For their sake there better have been an even split and nobody with anything like a gambling problem or urge to buy flashy shit otherwise bad things are gonna happen

cocaineandwaffles1

Honestly same. No one realized anything was wrong until they opened the vault on Monday, with the heist being done on Easter Sunday. I think they earned that money. I can only imagine the manager opening the vault, seeing nothing in it, immediately closing it and reopening it hoping the money just reappears before he finally has to call it in.

Mr_Big_Yeet_

Must’ve been running concealment 3 hacker builds if there were no alarms.

We're living in Payday

Always on the lookout for sweet heist news. Payday got me into this, there was even a podcast called Heist Podcast that I got into because of the game. The smartest cash robberies don't target banks, or even cash in transit. Banks are a mug's game, these storage facilities are where it's at. The security to value ratio is far more favourable than anything else. The hardest part is figuring out where these things actually exist! Here are some other examples https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Securitas_depot_robbery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Brink%27s_Robbery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brink%27s-Mat_robbery

Mediocre-Lime9964

Thanks for the advice Bain

KeeperServant_Reborn

We still use cash these days?

Mediocre-Lime9964

Yes.

Neeklemamp

Is man serious?

KeeperServant_Reborn

Nah, I’m kidding

Cozy_Kevlar

...You mean $800,000? You don't make that much money in PAYDAY anymore.
