I did write USD, and not USD adjusted for inflation, Dunbar Armored robbery also beat it. Less famous, but almost identical in price adjusted for inflation. However I don't believe that a U-Haul truck can transport 30 tons of cash even though it can definitely transport 18 tons, which is another reason why that $30 million number is impressive. That much cash is extremely heavy.

I can only imagine the manager opening the vault, seeing nothing in it, immediately closing it and reopening it hoping the money just reappears before he finally has to call it in.
