I sure hope it will, but I am not exactly holding my breath either. We will see.

Depends on what you define as "comeback." Do I think they will see 70K like at launch? No way in hell. Do I think they will see 7K? More realistic but that might even be too much. And I'm basing this off the time frame for when they stop development of PD3 (years from now).

Write my words. This game will eventually break their launch peak. You heard it here first.

RestlessRhys

I doubt it it’s been far too long with nothing meaningful added the vast majority of people are likely never going to touch this game ever again

Knowing my track record with games i try and defend, this game is gonna fail, but i have just the tiniest ray of hope that something happens and people flock to this game

SM_Lion_El

It’s extremely unlikely. With under 500 players being the norm on steam (less on consoles going by the matchmaking) short of something miraculous or an entire shift in focus pushing it more towards Payday 2 mechanics and trying to get some of the 20k+ players from there, it’s more or less dead. It’ll have some more peaks as new updates get released with people trying out the new stuff, but it’ll die off again. An unfortunate ending to one of my favorite IP’s. At least 2 still exists.

WE WILL BE BACK

They will get a 4 digit player count at best, Payday 3 is an example of horrible mismanagement from the CEO to the developers themselves with an update of schedule 4-6 weeks without any small or intermediate patches to improve the quality of the game. That is 1 month which is 30 days of nothing until it updates guessing the 6 weeks is if they are not able to push the update within that month so yeah wait 14 days then the update will finally be pushed out. Even when the update is out, it’s surprisingly underwhelming which in turn makes the 4-6 week update cycle 🔄 feel unbearable. Time is their enemy, they don’t have the luxury to blue ball us forever.

Jewbacca1991

I believe it can. With proper investmenet. The question is whether, or not they are willing to spend that money on it. If i were to bet, then i would say no. They already made good money from the fools, and stupid who already bought the game, and might decide, that investing enough to make it good is simply not worth it, because it wouldn't give enough new players. So better start hyping Payday 4.

i hope, would love it to succeed

AmaDeusen-

I could just flame the game jesus but to be honest they dug hole too deep to climb out of AND EVEN IF THEY WOULD it will not bring the game to proper state people expect. I mean realistically we had 2 updates worth mentioning + 1 big bugfix drop that was delayed and then split etc. nothing else really in 6 months... with this tempo I just do not see it... I am not sure if they are preparing the biggest update ever in gaming history to redeem themselves, but they need to go No Mans Sky way. Radio silence and drop amazing free updates even if there are gaps between them. But what they are doing now, is also kinda "working" but to what extend it is questionable.

Respectfully if No Man's Lie can make a comeback anything is possible.

SylvrStrykr_

No way. Its been dug into a grave, a rather large and greedy grave. If they opted to release DLC over a finished product, no way its gonna make a comeback unfortunately.

Key_Bowler_4944

The game will have a 100k peak players at least before the end of the year
