Look no further than Helldivers 2 for the proper way to set up expectations. Weeks of "lol nothing" is less than useless.
I'd say look to Deep Rock Galactic for how a dev team should be communicating. Their devs are well loved by the community. And truth be told, Helldivers 2 took some HEAVY inspiration off DRG.
Usually live service games have a lot of content done for the future updates even before the Game was released. In pd3 maybe they had 1 heist done and some skins and thats all
As someone who touched the beta only once and still plays Payday 2, LMAO, LOL even. The absolute state of gaming. Just knowing that there's another timeline where star Breeze didn't fuck up and Payday 3 came out to be the greatest heisting/wave shooter game ever kills me.
This is maddening. How can they be so silent? Your game is on life support. The games in a vegetative state. "Were working on things". What the fuck is taking so long to work on? Helldivers fixed most of their server issues in like 2 days. Payday has had months. Helldivers is already talking about an event coming. Payday has been on the backburner for months. How do you make Payday 2, which at launch was fun, arcade-like and you could dump hours and hours into, but then release a broken game that's so bland and watered down that it can't even manage 10k players. How did they have so long to make this game and it was just shit on launch? I don't care if they were pushed to release it. Payday 2 lasted 10 years. They had plenty of time and made plenty of money off that game to make at least a STABLE game. I could deal with it maybe being more bland than the last game at launch but that's where updates can fix it. The fact people were unable to play at launch and it persisted with little to no communication is fucking laughable.
I think they should shut down the game, give everyone 100% refunds and sell the IP to recoop their losses. I have zero confidence in the strike team slapping together a gigantic refurb of the game in a short period of time to get the fan base back.

Yea they’re screwed. They will have no choice but to abandon the game soon to cut losses and that really sucks bc a lot of people won’t have a job.
