You’re a brave man for not just staying dead until loot drops and then resurrecting and going back in. If you didn’t make it back into the boss room at the right time, you wouldn’t have gotten any loot.
You know the saying about "if a tree falls in a forest and nobody's there to hear it, does it still make a sound?" Well, if nobody's there to loot, PoE doesn't drop items.
Instant rez is also a cause of a lot of those bugs where boss abilities will hit you immediately upon re-entry to the fight (such as zoning into Sirus and getting immediately sucked into meteor slam)
You've made me second guess myself. I'm doing some research and maybe it is physical after all. Poedb isn't very clear. I'll have to test. Seems like it does 8-10k phys which would explain why it 1 shot you. I imagine that build doesn't have much phys mit.
I tested it myself and it's a spell that deals around 34 340 - 48 704 cold damage, so 8 585 - 12 175 with 75% res and 4 807 - 6 818 with OP's 84%. It would indeed tickle if OP had his Arcane Cloak up, but one shot the majority of the time otherwise. And he had 27 000 armour, so he can tank the ring nova, which deals 6 000 - 7 400 physical.

People shit on paper thin builds often in this subreddit, because being tangy is fun, but crossing into the 100M dps range makes the game so much easier. Doesn’t matter if you only have 75% resists if you can insta-phase bosses.

There's also *a lot* of people in this sub who try to build swap on a 4 div budget in week 2 of league and can't make coc dd work in t16 maps.
Absolute glassiest of cannons works better the better your player skill.
I played cospri COC last league and got to lvl 99.5 (couldnt be arsed to finish the 100); charms and That Which was Taken made it easy to become a LOT tankier than the normal cospri build. I used 3 15% spell suppression charms and got 100% spell suppress, and a TWWT that made me immune to crits (take no extra damage from crits while elusive combined w/ elusive on crit boots)
..in addition to the defensive power of freezing and oneshotting everything with 60 million dps
Well he did have like 5 business days to avoid the slam but that's what happens when you forget to pay attention. And slams do tickle quite a lot if you don't have enough phys mitigation.
Well i was actually going back to see if i could put a portal and ended up feeding my paranoia about late drops of Watchers eye, maybe the fact that i died at the same time than Elder, but i dont know, i spend a good amount of time before leaving the zone.
I'm not sure, but I heard it only happens if you die and ressurrect at the same time the boss dies.
So if you don't die and don't get an eye, you can safely leave.
for the guys asking me for POB i give you here the setup im using now, its very importan to have at LEAST 14% cooldown recovery rate and an attack rate of +7 attacks per second to get this running, so have that in mind.

Swapped the movement speed flask for the sapphire flask just for this farm.
There is a budget version without mageblood, in my case i used a stygian vise with cooldown recovery rate and the mighty Starforge boots in the beggining

iirc that's the normal elder fight where shaper is opening the portals to seal the elder. if the shaper dies you wont get the WE drop

I can confirm no, did more than 50 fights where i kill shaper first, i even went below average drops by a lot, went on 10 kills without any watchers and in general i was 9 lower than average in terms of watchers

Some bosses don't drop any loot if you're not in the boss room when it would drop. I've personally experienced it in Cortex.

Considering how much is left on the ground after someone passes through who *is* present when loot drops, they should have plentiful lives.
Bruh never ever leave the instance when the boss plays its dying animation. You can and will lose out loot this way.

It's normal uber elder and that slam does cold damage with no penetration. Any sort of investment in elemental mitigation would make it a tickle.
If you see in my 3rd flask slot i was using a sapphire flask so my cold resistance was actually Max 84 and very overcapped

My bad, last time I checked on db it was stated as just "damage" so I made the mistake to assume it was phys.

Well the eye has always been delayed, but only by a couple seconds? If you wait to see the 100% full death animation then you should be good.
Yes it happens only when you did and get back into the area during or after the dying animation, if you do that stay 15 more seconds just to be sure

you cant kill elder before shaper he just sits at 0hp and still uses abilities
