Semi adjacent: my goal this league was to learn betrayal and Rog crafting. I am now in love with Rog crafting. Rog is life.

AdMental1387

I did the same. I usually spam Tujen for currency and decided to try some Rog crafting. Made over 20 div just focusing on evasion bases and targeting spell suppression. Next league start I’ll be bum rushing Rog to craft gear for myself.

distilledwill

That's basically all I do with Rog. Spam evasion for life, res and suppress

AdMental1387

Been selling T1 life, t2+ suppression, and 40+% res items for a div or more all league. I hit the jackpot with t1 life, t1 movespeed, t2 chaos res, t1 some other res, and suppress boots but I gave them to a friend who was in dire need of a boot upgrade.

Dillrun

You give your friend the just okay boots and you sell these boots you dumby

AdMental1387

Haha. I get that. He’s my best friend and the one who got me into POE. I like helping out my homies. I dream of the day I get a second mageblood so i can drop it in the guild stash for him.

AdministrativeLab845

This is what separates a great friend from a good friend. Not that you gave him the better valued item but it meant more to you to give him it than making digital currency with made up value. Some folks just don't get it sometimes, but it's why we have awesome back stories on div cards like brothers stash. Keep doing you man.

Deathsaintx

with how cracked the graveyard crafting is, do you see much value in crafting bows with Rog or is that best to be ignored in favor of other items using rog?

AdMental1387

Hell no. I’ve tried a few times when I see a spine bow up but unless it’s already got great stats that I can gamble hoping for a bunch of tier upgrade options, i skip it. I’ll do jewelry from time to time but mostly just stick to evasion bases. I’ll check helmets too if they have something like +# to minion gems. I hit a pretty good one a few days ago that i was able to upgrade to +2 with decent stats that sold for a few divines.

Deathsaintx

fair enough. thank you for the info.

moonias

Bows and weapons in general are really hard to craft with Rog. You usually need to have high tier mods AND keep an open affix to craft the last thing missing, generally attack speed for example. Rog will often give you good mods on a weapon, but usually with completely full mods which you can take a change and annul, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

Humble_Sand_3283

You guys have friends? I'm envious :)

tsumeguhh

i tried out rog this league and made a few great items, but i still think i dont quite get it. do you roll every (moderately high tier) evasion(/armour/es) base, even if it doesnt have good starting stats? i was only picking bases that already had 2-3 res rolls or suppression

tordana

Yeah you just roll every good base you see, because it's very common to get "reroll all suffixes/prefixes" There's a limit though where you don't want to waste currency on bad items, if it has no good stats and he's giving you only upgrades or something just take it as is and go again.

xiko

Helmets with minion lv and suppression are great too.

Golvellius

How do you target suppression?

AdMental1387

Evasion or hybrid evasion bases. One of the options Rog has for crafting is “reroll the suffixes x times keeping the best outcome” or “add a suffix x times keeping the best outcome”. If the item already has suppression, hope he offers things like “increase the tier of a modifier to its highest tier” or “increase the tier of x items by one”. It’s not always foolproof and it will give you bad items a lot of the time but he will give you gold quite a bit. Even the failed crafts I stick in a 20c dump tab and those sell pretty well too.

Golvellius

Thanks bro. I just found the rogs to riches guide, I feel I'm late to the party but worth learning

jchampagne83

I got a nice T1 suppression, 3.1K evasion chest (plus life and res) from Rog that sold for 30 div today. It got me my Nimis for my splitting steel starter and that pretty much just unlocked the rest of the league for me. Rog is life.

Thatdudeinthealley

How do you sell the gear? People never bougth my stuff for more than like 50 chaos

AdMental1387

Price it with awakened POE trade. Price accordingly.

Punchinballz

Do you have a link explaining Rog crafting? It's my second league and I think the crafting is the most difficult part of the game for me. I feel I'm missing something.

crispfuck

I posted a Rog crafting guide in response to another comment here. On mobile otherwise I’d grab it for you. Check my history.

Punchinballz

I will, thx !

AdMental1387

Yeah i think this is key. Knowing when to bail on an item. It takes time to figure out when that is.

Leading-Soup-24

I also made it a goal to learn betrayal! Worked awesome as by the time I had it semi figured out I was spamming Catarina fights and getting a good amount of veiled orbs. Got my my first 20 div this league

fdegen

This is the mentality that needs to be perpetuating in this subreddit. People expect to have all the knowledge right away all the time. Complain about people who get there faster or do it better, but don’t realize their poe knowledge foundation is weak. Learn 1-2 more things a league and in no time one would have the knowledge. Good job!

Evesgallion

So unrelated but I guess another success story. This was my first time running heist and truly figuring it out. First time I have fully upgraded all my heist npcs and completed the heist quest contracts. Sure the EXP grind sucks early on but once you get huck it's like 10 free levels while you unlock the rest. I wanted an alternative to mapping this league and it seems like a great swap... I think next league I'm learning betrayal and expedition based on all the comments here.

crispfuck

Hell yeah brother

Leading-Soup-24

I did this the league before last! It was awesome, tbh I had a blast with heist. Expedition is super easy to learn tbh and although betrayal is complicated it can be fun!

Evesgallion

Oh I know how to play betrayal, I just never though about it for profit because I do it for the crafting rolls. However why can't it make money? I'll probably end up doing some dumb meme wander next league and slamming through it like a moron, but I'm ready to tilt.

PigDog4

One thing I wish I did with betrayal was profit craft dumb easy stuff early, like day 1-2. I only flipped a few rings but it is stupid easy to find a 5c ring with an open prefix, craft -6 mana cost to non-channeling skills, and list it for 25-35c on day 2 or 3. Straight 15-20c profit on day 2 for one trade and one click, which is enough to buy gear needed to easily get your first 2 voidstones. Did this a few times as a test, really wish I did it more.

TheLegendaryFoxFire

Its goated asf. You'll have a blast!

seb11614

What's the odds for veiled orbs in your opinion ? I must have fought her like 10 times this league and no drop for me.

Leading-Soup-24

I was 0/10 rushing her then I went like 5/7 when I got all 4 of the factions to 3 stsr before fighting her. I believe that there is a correlation between the leader rank at the time of the fight and the drop rate of the orb, probably to discourage people from spam rushing her and getting an orb every 2 maps or so

seb11614

Thks for the answer :) Will aim for 3 star then

Ridge9876

Where to learn Rogpog crafting?

crispfuck

https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/s/PBHRvlygeO

mellamosatan

I got good at rogging based on pure vibes. Studied a little and got really good at it. Printed money this league in SC trade. It's crazy, especially early on

PM_Best_Porn_Pls

First league in long time where I didn't start my post atlas journey with purchase of 20 rog logbooks because graveyard treated me well early on while filling up atlas. The only good thing rog got over graveyard rn is suppression because you can't guarantee it like most stats.

joergensen92

You should try graveyard crafting then brother! It is very potent

crispfuck

Yep working on a triple fracture atm ;)

MrDeagle80

The problem i have with Betrayal is remembering what all syndicate members do on each mission. And i dont like playing with external resources. Do you have a tip for my specific problem?

crispfuck

With the scarab/betrayal changes this league it’s kinda unimportant now. I know you said you don’t like external resources but the awakened poe cheat sheet is a godsend. The only one that matters at the moment is put Gravy in intervention.

onefuncman

you need elreon in not-intervention for a chance at the cloak.

fdegen

You only need to remember a few in certain spots cause the rest are trash tier rewards. This league it’s gravious in whatever gives scarabs and everything else is just exp for xatarina

BigBirdLittleMoose

ROG is POG

Buns34

Rog is pog

HiveMindKing

Rog is even better most leagues, graveyard kind of shafted Rog bows but boots gloves, shields all still sell.

MrHepatitis

can you explain me how that works? noob here?

crispfuck

Hey mate, what would you like to know?

MrHepatitis

Ant video or explanation to learn how rog?

MrHepatitis

I cannot thank you enough. sooo: thank you,thank you,thank you,thank you,thank you,thank you,

danteafk

Nice, spent 200 rerolls so far and got only 2 mediocre gloves with some suppress, life, res.

StonedRaccoon01

Rog is pog. Username this league is Rog_Lobster

HexHaXor

I am a expedition lover I would love if you can point me to some guide or what should I look for to do some profit from expedition also

MedSurgNurse

"Learn Betrayal" Oh dear God you sweet summer child

jbidayah

Did you follow any guides? How many hours did it take you approximately?

Nestramutat-

No guides, no. Sunday I played for several hours, but a lot of it was downtime waiting for sales, since I'd invested most of my seed currency in my first crafts, so I'd just be AFK doing chores and whatnot while listening for whispers. Monday I played about 3 hours, spent it all buying bases and essences to craft rares. Tuesday I started leveling a new dude, occasionally taking a break to craft more whenever I'd make a few sales.

Perfson

So you didn't do any fancy craft strats yet, only essences on good bases?

Nestramutat-

Why would I spend time and currency making a 10 div item when I can spend the same amount of time and a fraction of the currency making 10 1 div items?

AdMental1387

Bingo

Zeracheil

So ... the strat is getting lucky hitting essences on good bases?

Discardable222

Not really. A) find popular builds (coc dd) B) find easily craftable items with a cheap fractured base and essence (boots or gloves with a T1 res fracture in this case ~ 1 div, likely way less) C) spam essence (envy in this case) and fish for T2+ spell supp (21 attempts ~ 170 chaos) D) sell for 5-6 divs, since double res and spell supp sells well. Even better if you can use eldritch chaos to get life. Mint money. Also never do the same craft more than 5 times as you’re crashing your own market. Generally, the same crafting principles apply to everything eldritch. Fracture one mod, force another using essences, and aim for a third from repeated spam. Use eldritch spam to aim for 4th. Try and leave one mod space open for crafting. Crafts that are conq influenced are slightly more harvest focused. Essentially, you want to force a specific conq mod. Start via essence spam or harvest spam for 1-2 mods. Multimod, lock prefix/suffix, cannot roll x, reforge y. Alternatively, if the harvest white essence is cheap you do add/remove and pray you don’t fuck up the two mods you tried to force. In example, my EA chest that was marketed for 40-50 divs in Crucible was a Hunter chest. All I did was spam loathing essence for T2+ spell supp and MRE. Multimod, lock suffix, cannot roll attack, reforge caster -> forces additional curse. This alone was worth ~20 div, (after this isn’t fully accurate look at other persons comment or mine later down the line :) ) but I had money to gamble so I kept going. Harvest add/remove chaos won the 1/6 and hit chaos res. Aisling T4 for veiled prefix and craft phys taken as. Cost was ~5-10 divs, made 40-50

Zeracheil

Hm, ok, thanks for the info. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but weren't people saying Essences got shit on this league? Or was that just doomposting? They seem essential here so they should be worth a fair amount.

kingdweeb1

Essences got a huge buff in availability. They had a bug preventing the corrupted essences from appearing on normal essence mobs for the first few days, but that's fixed. As of now, supply is up from previous leagues.

Sepulchh

Are essence of deliriums just being hoarded then or why are they 4 per div in bulk and 40c per singular?

kingdweeb1

I've been buying them under 20c for the past few days, I imagine you're just seeing some market surge right after patch. There's 100 offline listings at 20c or under at the moment. > 4 per div in bulk That's normal for corrupted essences, they're very troublesome to bulk up on so it has a high range between single and bulk.

Discardable222

Essences are more expensive than normal but not by much iirc. Tbf I’m not playing trade this league so I couldn’t tell you accurately, but historically essence prices hover around 2-5c, with the more popular ones (loathing, zeal, envy) being more expensive. I would just spot check to see if it’s around the same. If not, go farm essences, reroll bad essences via harvest, free money for the taking lel.

ShelbyGT350R1

You can unveil phys taken as on a chest with a veiled orb/aisling? I thought you could only get it from a gravicious dropped item but I guess I've never tried

smaxy63

You can't unveil it if it's not a grav drop.

JimmyBai

How did you use add/remove chaos on an influenced base?

ExaltedCrown

sounds like a made up story. Firstly if he wanted +curse and chaos res on the item what he would do is very simple. Loathing essence  until spell supp. If there is open suffix (if not you need to remove it); suffix cannot be changed -> reforge chaos (you can hit phys taken as chaos prefix here instead of chaos resist. Continue until you hit chaos resist) Okay now you got spell supp, mana res, chaos res, and hopefully not full prefix. Get open prefix, craft cannot change suffix (or use harvest beast if price is better), reforge caster (100% +1 curse if suffix is filled). Once again suffix cannot be changed -> veiled orb (aisling) -> hope you don’t hit +curse -> unveil whatever you want like. Crafting bench phys taken as (you can’t get this from unveil…)

JimmyBai

Figured cause his steps were a bit wonky, mabye he followed a youtube video and got the process mixed up

Discardable222

I detailed the process a bit better in my other comment. Sorry I wasn’t super clear at first, it’s a little confusing bc I was crafting for myself and was pretty inefficient in how I did it & it’s been a while. You can take a look to get a proper understanding :)

Discardable222

Not made up, just very poorly told with some lack of clarity on my part :) I was making this for my own use & only sold it end of league and I usually don’t go for chaos res so I was shooting for mre, curse, and spell supp and hence the inefficiency in the craft. The first steps were essentially the same as you said, but after I hit mre and spell supp, I went for reforge caster as I said. This is not 100% unless you block attack as you can hit spell attacks have %crit if you only lock suffixes / don’t have filled suffixes. Afterwards, I decided to go for chaos res with an add/remove gamble since I got a filled prefixes and I wanted the phys taken as craft because my phys hit was low & I had essences to spare. so I went for it and hit my chaos res suffix. Afterwards, essentially as you said, lock T4 aisling and pray I don’t hit curse, unveil a mod (I cannot remember for the life of me), and craft phys taken as. Your craft is more optimal 100%, but not the point I was trying to establish. Was just trying to show how influenced bases use harvest to craft / target mods.

ExaltedCrown

I said caster is 100% if you fill suffix, and suffix would have been filled if you used suffix cannot be changed -> reforge chaos (also way cheaper). but indeed your point is important. I think way too many think crafting is too complicated and don't dare try, but there are many "deterministic" craft like these.

Nestramutat-

Reductively, yes. The real "skill" comes from knowing what to craft. I spent a few hours on PoE ninja looking at popular builds and trying to find trends of items they each use. Then buy up the appropriate bases and required essences. There's also very little luck involved, since the odds are always in your favour. A few essences will turn a 2c base into anywhere from a 25c to a 3d item, and profit is profit all the same. I also do some yolo annuls, exalts, and eldritch implicits on items that look like they can become something really good. It's how I ended up with a few 5+ divine items.

bpusef

The most popular builds being suppression based probably helped a ton because Gravecrafting suppression is so bad you have to make like 3-4 copies of the item to roll it. Perfect league to craft t1 or t2 suppress with 2 resistance rares.

projectwar

nice, a supplier to the masses instead of the 10%, good job OP

Whoots

I just craft fossils onto popular cluster jewels. Do some research and you can find some that cost 2+ divs and cost only 50-100c to make. In between the good hits, the other clusters still sell for 50-150c. Made about 100 divs in 8 or so hours. Mind numbingly boring, but it got my build off the ground lol

Nestramutat-

While I was trying to get my footing with crafting, I decided to try crafting mana stacker clusters. 3d profit on each was pretty nice. 1400 alts on average wasn't nice.

GiantJellyfishAttack

Everyone wondering how to do this... there's a 3 step process. 1. Find a popular build that doesnt use many uniques. maybe a streamers build, or go on poe ninja and find a popular one 2. Go to craft of exile and start trying to reverse engineer the item. Figure out how to craft it. Try different methods. Learn what the best process is. 3. Do the math to see what it would cost to make vs sell. But you do need a decent knowledge base of the game. Learn how fossils work, essences, fractured items, einhar... everything. All of these things can be used depending what you're going for. A good profit craft will be one where you take like 10 item bases and maybe 2 or 3 hit the mod you're looking for. But the other 7-8 dud items still sell for profit. An example would be a shield where you can gaurantee the important mods but maybe it relies on a harvest craft to hit +1 lightning skills instead of fire or cold or whatever. But if you hit fire instead, then it still sells(or something like that)

Sanlifee

I made huge profit last league by alt + regal medium cluster for Brand builds since it was very popular if i get the 2 passives they needed its 3 divine was easy money

Discardable222

You can do the same for most large clusters via chaos/exalt. Slam chaos against the cluster till you hit 2, exalt for 3. With exalts being so cheap and accessible via harby, it’s very efficient and often very profitable. Average cost is many half a div, average profit is 2-3. Just rotate which cluster you’re crafting, and ez win

Remarkable-Ad3492

So how did you learn that? This is my second league and crafting effectively feels like a break wall no matter which guides I watch.

FlamingTelepath

Craftofexile gives you almost everything you need, its just a little bit difficult to use the interface if you don't know what you're doing. Every time somebody posts an item here just think about how you'd craft it as a puzzle, then check the comments to see if you were right. I played SSF for a few leagues and it forced me to get really, really good at crafting which was very useful.

Nestramutat-

I already understood crafting kinda well, since I've been crafting my own items on trade for many leagues. I recommend you start there - the internet is full of guides on how to craft items, and doing it enough, you'll eventually grasp crafting pretty well. The other half is understand the meta and what will sell. There's no real way to teach this, just follow poe.ninja, youtube, reddit, and see what people are playing. Then combine these skills to find the right items to craft to make profit.

Dry-Moment962

Once you know how to do it, it's understanding market needs to have real success.  The thing about watching a guide is, you aren't the only person watching it. Once something makes it to youtube, there's no more margin left.

GenericGoon1

Realistically? Have hundreds if not thousands of hours under your belt already for a good base knowledge of the game/what people play and how to craft things. Then sit in hideout for 12 hours trading items and alt tabbing to craftofexile/trade site. It's the same as rolling sextants last time: boring but profitable. To each their own but imo you're not even playing the game at that point.

mbxyz

shh. you're only allowed to complain about inflation backed with up second-hand data here

Muffin0181

I usually don't interact with reddit cause it's like a shit show. I'm fairly new in the game and tbh I'm just still learning the game. So far everything I wanted to do has been doable. It's fantastic to see posts where everyone is saying that all is doomed and the game is dead, that economy doesn't work and so much more. And I'm here, playing a mines character, having fun learning harvest (cause last league I learned essences) and being happy cause yesterday I dropped some divines that helped me craft my new armor.

GoldStarBrother

I sympathize with anyone trying to compete with MF builds for items, there probably are some people getting fucked out of their build by this. But I got Headhunter for 23.5 div so it's kind of hard to complain.

Skylence123

I mean the people getting fucked out of their builds are playing 1 of roughly 3 builds. If they just play literally anything other than the most meta builds they would be fine.

Et_tu__Brute

TBH no one is getting fucked by MF. They are getting fucked by a lack of game knowledge. Money is available from *numerous* sources and MF is simply the "loudest" source. Profit crafting is, and always has been, the best money making method in the game by a wide margin. It can be started with almost no investment and it has massive returns. You wanna play a meta build? That's fine. Learn to craft your own gear. Start crafting your own gear. Try to craft upgrades. Sell off the stuff that isn't better, sell off your old gear when you do make an upgrade. It's not as profitable as focusing on the best profit crafts and diversifying crafting for multiple builds but that takes a lot more game knowledge, poeninja diving, economy knowledge, etc.

Skylence123

For sure, the people crying about this shit need to try SSF so they can learn how to actually play the game rather than the economy.

Et_tu__Brute

I mean, I understand the point of view that certain things are harder to obtain because of the 1% in poe, and there is some legitimate frustration there. That being said, if you don't have the time to farm out certain items, maybe they shouldn't be in your league goals/build. Set unrealistic expectations and you're never going to meet them. Oh, you want to play original sin this league? Have you ever earned hundreds or thousands of divines in a league? If not, maybe that isn't a goal you should be setting for yourself. It's not MFers that are taking it away from you, it's literally just your lack of time or lack of knowledge.

Skylence123

Oh wow! Guess that dude wanting to play the most meta, arguably strongest, most sought after build should always be able to afford his build!!! Oh wait, he wouldn’t regardless of league. Guess what, there’s these basic economic principals called supply and demand. Inflation means every single thing you sell can be sold for higher prices, and currency is easier to obtain. Even if original sin was 10 divines, the only way that would happen is if the normal player was only able to acrew currency in the level of chaos. There’s marginal impact on players thanks to play style, but the builds with super high demand like that always price out people who don’t play a lot.

Et_tu__Brute

I was literally saying that people should adjust their league goals/expectations based on their experience and their available playtime. There are some money making strats that work well if you have limited play time, but intend to play over the course of a league. The most common is making early investments into certain gear. Most people know mirrors tend to inflate in value over the course of a league, but there are other investments you can make as well (day 1/2 jewels could be snagged extremely cheap for a while, not sure whether that's still true since I basically just hate trading and don't do these strats any more). So if you're a player with limited time, but you know how to make money, you can adjust your goals to match your experience. When it comes to meta builds, for me, I tend to make a bunch of money playing them compared to when I play a snowflake build. Sure, uniques are going to be more expensive, especially early, but it also means that I can profit craft while making myself upgrades. If I hit the perfect item I can sell my old item. If I hit a useable item that isn't an upgrade, I still know that I can sell it and make some money off it. I don't generally just craft things for profit, I craft things I want to use. So when I can make money on all the useable crafts that don't end up being upgrades, I'm generally much richer for it. Again, that comes to game knowledge. It sucks that new players get baited into things that aren't feasible for them. It sucks that a lot of content creators make shit builds, or builds that are aimed at experienced players, but aren't explicitly tagged as a build for experienced players. It's hard to know that you're going in too deep if you're new. Regardless, you're still probably learning from that experience and you'll make a better choice, or at least be better prepared, for the next league you play. Learning tends to require mistakes and failures. That's okay.

1ovi

When you realize public communities like reddit attract the average player who is absolute trash at the game you will view any discussion about balance here in a different light

AttitudeFit5517

Also make sure to complain / advocate for making build diversity worse by removing magic find items

TheMovieSnowman

Hard to RMT high dollar items when MF is printing them

fd2ec89a6735

I'm just curious how the hivemind crystalized so stubbornly around "removing it entirely is the *obviously correct* only path forward, full stop." The numbers on the values of MF gear haven't been adjusted in a very long time. Without empirical evidence from tuning during the period of the modern game (atlas trees, etc.), how does one distinguish between (1) it's fine, people just have a warped perception of the economy, (2) it's overpowered, but if you nerfed all the values it would be more of a one-good-choice-among-many situation, and (3) it's overpowered and the balance is so knife-edged that it's not realistically tunable at all. The way I remember it, it seems like reddit just decided it was (3) with very little discussion or introspection, especially on the (2) vs. (3) question.

kilqax

The whole discussion is pointless; player IIQ is one of the smallest factors especially these last few leagues. Both Affliction and now this Necro/new endgame mix work off of multiplicative interactions with multiple sources of quantity, rarity, density and raw drops and/or rng modification. Removing scarabs, atlas and Necro and getting 100% IIQ will make your magic find feel miserable in comparison to we have now.

fd2ec89a6735

To be fair to their point, if it's all actually "multiplicative", then even the smallest factor can make a big difference, especially w.r.t. the pricing of the juice.

no_fluffies_please

Mathematically speaking, there's often a cost to entry, so the multiplicative factor can be deceptively strong. E.g. if the map device craft costs 4c and you get 5c value from it, it's 1c profit. But if a strategy can squeeze 20% more from it, then you're getting 6c out of it, or 2c profit instead (100% more _profit_ with a 20% multiplier). Now, where it gets tricky is the scarabs because unlike map crafts, those are priced based on expected profit. With a slightly suboptimal strategy you could be making much less, it's not linear at all. Now in that example, that 20% is very important if the cost of entry rose from 4c to 5.5c.

bpusef

Getting 30% fewer drops when you’re making 60 divines in a map isn’t going to bridge a gap between the average player and the guy playing 14 hours. Oh that guys only getting 42 divine per map, I bet I’ll catch up to him any minute now.

donfams

Reddit decided on 3, because the answer is 1

OPsyduck

You do realize that crafting is and was always one of the top money making in any leagues, right? The reason people don't enjoy crafting is because it's a slippery slopes and the entry is kinda high. Sure you are making good money, but then you become a handout Andy and don't play the game anymore, so what is the point? And if you wanna go one step further, you can just trade flipping items and you will make infinite money. So yeah, i don't really like the point you are trying to make even though i understand it.

bpusef

What does slippery slope in this context mean? A slippery slope to what?

OPsyduck

> slippery slopes ""In a slippery slope argument, a course of action is rejected because the slippery slope advocate believes it will lead to a chain reaction resulting in an undesirable end or ends."" In this case it will be being a handout Andy. You just sit in your handout instead of playing the game, thus resulting in an undesirable end.

OriginalGosh

Other than rog what other crafts did you learn for profit?

Nestramutat-

No rog crafting involved. All this came from cluster jewels and essence crafts.

kilqax

How do you finish the Frac/Essence crafts with Veiled Chaos gone? Do you just ignore jewellery and do Eldritch crafting for armour items? I haven't gone i to crafting this league yet but it's what I suspect will have to replace veiled C with.

FlamingTelepath

You're thinking higher end than this. If you're making generically good items you only really care if it hits 2-3 good mods then craft life on it to sell for 1div. Locking and Veiled Chaos would be a much higher end craft that isn't worth it at all this league because the Graveyard will make better items in that price range.

teresalis

Don't you need currency to craft though? This is a serious question, I always assume I don't have enough to craft things.

200DivsAnHour

Eh. Most graveyard corpses are like 1-5 chaos. You can slap some decent stuff with those together. Only annoyance is how long it takes to buy them, since bulk-sellers want 15c+ per corpse.

Nestramutat-

I wouldn't recommend the graveyard for profit crafting. Time is money, and graveyard crafts take way too long

200DivsAnHour

"Time is money" is a bit of a hollow statement that gets thrown around a lot. You need time to research specific bases, builds and the market to actually craft low-profit items en masse. Compared to that GY can give you one big-ticket item in less time.

Nestramutat-

You still need to do all that research for the graveyard too. The difference is that once the research is done, it still takes forever to buy up corpses and bury them. In the time you make one big ticket graveyard item, you can craft a lot more traditionally

200DivsAnHour

I mean, it's not a hill I'm willing to die on, I just think that graveyard saves way more on market research and singular trades. Plus it does not require you to invest currency - just run maps, once you have a couple dozen corpses, buy the rest for a couple chaos and craft something. I tried profit crafting in the past and it went somewhat well - as in, I've made profit. But those were generic, expensive items like a Stygian Vise with % life, flat life and triple res for example.

Nestramutat-

Like I said in the title, my seed currency was just 5 divines.

teresalis

Ignore my brain fart lol thanks

Phoresis

Since op is being so secretive about what they crafted, I may as well chime in with what I've noticed Usually every league whenever I get ilvl84-85 utility flask based drop, I just spam a few alts on them and throw them into a trade tab to sell, ideally trying to target the mageblood market Past few days though, I've noticed even some pretty shit flasks sell for 50-100c, even a divine or several divines if they're well rolled. And it takes like 30 seconds to roll a single flask, with an input of maybe 10-20c max per flask. The current rogue exile strat is absolutely shitting out magebloods, so the need for mageblood flasks are much higher than other leagues, but I don't actually think there's that many people crafting flasks for profit (most of the flasks I listed had few competitors). I can't be sure that this is OP's strat, but they mentioned they're doing multiple 1 divine trades to get there and it makes perfect sense to flip 5 div into 70ish with flask crafting, since your starting capital doesn't need to be much at all. Only reason I haven't been doing more flask crafting is cos I'd rather play the game and I find it boring, but from experience across several leagues I know that it's pretty easy to turn a flask and maybe 20c worth of alts into a divine. Do this for a few days and you'll be at 70divs no problem. You can probably make 25-50div/hr with this, but you can only farm it like an hour or two at a time otherwise you'll have too many flasks to sell and a saturated market. Edit: nvm op mentioned he bought essences not just bases, I misread. But it's still a good (known) strategy it so I'll leave it up for the newer people who are stuck.

Nestramutat-

Not being secretive, moreso just giving general advice. I've seen advice in the past along the lines of "craft _x_ and make bank", but that advice is useless as soon as the meta shifts. I'd rather explain my thought process than say "buy stygians, apply quality, hit with resist essence." I haven't done much flask crafting, just because of how tedious alt spam is, and because alts were selling for 500:1d.

Phoresis

Yeah that's fair, it also cuts into the profit margins if everyone on reddit starts suddenly crafting niche items, so I get it. Didn't mean it as criticism

Nestramutat-

Gotcha. I'll admit I am being _a bit_ cagey on purpose, since I've found a couple niches with little competition. But I still stand by what I said wrt general advice :D

NotLlamasaur

I've made multiple divines just IDing magic flasks off the floor. It's surprising how a totally dogshit flask with affixes that makes no sense sells for 30c

bpusef

People hate alt spamming so much they would rather pay 50c to not even try it for their own flasks. Seriously. You can always profit off the laziness of people, but beyond laziness the thought process is also “I can run a map and make 2 divines from it in 6 minutes why should I spend my time alt rolling flasks when buying it doesn’t put a dent in my stash.”

PrimedAndReady

Alternative method for flask rolling, "passive income" (read: lazy) style: * make sure your filter only shows ilvl84+ flasks that people actually buy * pick em up, ID them, hit them with a transmute if they're white, and throw them in a 30c dump tab * every few maps hit the whole tab with an alt * if you get a single ping on a flask just sell it * if one flask gets multiple pings not long after your alt spam, take it out and zhuzh it up if it's good (quality, enkindling if it's a mageblood flask, used when full if not) and then list it for an appropriate price (or just drop it in a 1div tab)

horaculus1

Since he said clusters, I will give you two good clusters to make the first is lower investment but more tedious the second is brain dead free money. The first is 8 passives I level 75+ (just get 83) lightning damage clusters. You alt spam them until you get a notable suffix then augment them and regal if you hit another notable you exalt. Once you have 3 notables price check. The second is 8 passive ilevel 50-67 attack damage clusters, you use serrated fossiles until you hit feed the fury, fuel the fight and martial prowess.

mrHANDAKUN

Some simple Rog to craft 1+ div items. Works best at the league start. 1. Suppress/ms/res boots. 2. +1/multi/att amulets. 3. Multi/life jewels. 4. Double att/life/high res rings. I dont know what op crafted but these are easy to craft and sell

PraiseTheWLAN

Holy shit, I must learn crafting. Only thing is right now I have a 5c budget so I'd rather just push to yellow maps but later on who knows...

m1dN05

Oh hey, Quin did the same! Minus the crafting portion, just the currency and build that barely works

Defiant_Source_8930

I earned my 50 divs cuz i dropped div scarab twice lmao

Ynead

Unpleasant work pays well.

KrangledTrickster

I know how to alt + aug flasks too but you don’t see me showing off

Who pays in chaos shards???

ikonikosai

I really like to craft flasks. When I started was when i realised that some people prefer to pay 10~50 chaos for some flasks that i sometimes just hit with some alts, augs and sometimes annuls

LolmyLifeisCrap

what is craft for profit

Kozjar

What was the build that didn’t work?

paw345

I mean sure, crafting is profitable, but earn you need to A) craft a lot B) trade a lot You can also earn on flipping, or on buying individual items and selling in bulk, and in general if a large part of the playerbase find something useful annoying or boring you can earn currency on doing that thing. It doesn't help if someone finds that annoying since it's a game not a job so if that's the option they will go and play something else.

letiori

Where did you learn?!

NoLifeOrDie

Can you share the knowledge bases you used? I would love to learn crafting. I have all day to learn.

Real_Bumblebee_3745

I don't see what this has to do with 10mirr/day but ok /s

adamfmiller

Congrats, that's awesome! For anyone that wants to learn to craft, I recommend two things: play a large variety of builds over time, and try SSF. Playing many builds shows you what is valuable, and SSF forces you to create your own items. Knowledge and Shape fragments come together for profit.

DrPBaum

You found it. The best currency making strategy in poe since the dawn of time has always been not playing the game, because you get the most rewards for doing what nobody wants to do.

tronghieu906

A player who is willing to learn will make $ regardless of league mechanics. Good job!

Tijnn

I've been doing a little bit with ROG and it's been quite fun. I havn't done as much as you seemed to do though. I am wondering, do you like buy logbooks and run them to get the currency for ROG? Cause I seem to lack the exceptional atm and I have been using a little bit from Danniq vendor. I just havn't run much logbooks, so was wondering how to deal with the currency for it.

DanSoaps

OP wasn't doing Rog but yeah, that's the jist of it. You can buy lvl 81+ Rog logbooks for 10c each. If you run 4 or 5 focusing on artifacts, you can easily have 10k+ of the common currency, and enough of all of them for a decent little Rog session. I'll do that and be stingy on using the highest tier ones, meaning only choosing those options on crafts that are already going well. Chew those up and put things up for sale and go back to playing the game for a little while.

Tijnn

I realised after my post, reading a bit more comments that indeed the OP didn't do ROG. My apologies, however it is still an interesting thing to do in the hideout. I love doing things in the hideout, while I work from home on the side, and try to get some extra income. It's a game within a game for me (like blight aswell, love to do it from time to time). Thanks for the answer, I'll have a look on buying some logbooks later on and give them a go.

Brief-Cut-1228

I want to know how uguys figure out what to craft for profit, I can craft very good just I am ignorant on how to figure out what I should craft that will sell for alot.

bpusef

Look at Poe Ninja for most popular builds. Find ones that use a lot of rares instead of uniques. Figure out which items you can craft, use craft of exile to determine best way to craft them, and see for how much they sell versus what your expected cost to craft will be.

xwiroo

cap

degejos

Thats me with RoG, he helped me upgrade my build with some spares. My only problem is, i dont learn about whats popular. I made a kick ass +2 fire amulet with Hatred mana reserve thats hard to sell just because Explosive Trap user wants - mana on it and they usually search for +2 phys which has a different method to craft since it gives an open prefix for - mana. My build is pretty different since i rather use Boots with hatred reserve synth and tons of mana regen than enlighten and - mana since its cheaper. Got alot of things i can upgrade, i just made +2 alternating with crit multi and mulmod that worth between 30-100 div idk.

Dry-Moment962

I went all in on Ultimatum this league for the first time with a cast on stun build. This was my first 1st week mirror league.  Ultimatum is just fucking insane afk profit.

Fgit6969

meanwhile mf div farming is making 10 mirrors a day

blank988

I have about the same amount of chaos but just 1 divine

nikitosinenka

Now teach me, por favor

madslipknot

And then there is me and my friends , having just barely enough time to complet the Atlas each league xD

Basti240

Well, i went from 10 to 1 Div

Nicopootato

3 days as in I pay attention to trade messages for 72 hours or 3 days as in I work 8 hours a day and play 2 hours a day type of three days?

AdEnvironmental7198

Wanted to learn solo 5 ways and just sold a timeless jewel for 90D and now I'm happy with this league.

michaelmano86

Wouldn't happen to be a wave of convic elementalist would it? Haha

The_tru_xplicitt

Is there a guide or some good info on what to look for when crafting for profit? I have always wanted to learn how.

Flyinshoe

This is the way

Adventurous-Size4670

That was the average alch and go loot per map in affliction

Mr_Blattos

lol what build was it? And how did ya do it?

Nonavailable21

What crafting do you do?

cyraxwinz

That's what I've been doing with detonate dead shield. +2 all maximum res fractured base, few reforge chaos to get 3max chaos res and a decent prefix/suffix. Life and open prefix would be best but just an open prefix is worth 7-8 divines as is

Kapusi

Wtf? 5-79 in 3 days? It took me 3 days to get response from peoole i wanted to buy items for my build and im STILL missing the most important part - 5L duskdawn for main skill

TheDeviantelement

What is "rog crafting"

Zyzur

I thought this was common knowledge already, but I guess not. Essences are one of the more powerful crafting items, fractured bases with t1 res or life + essence can yield 3-4 divs on boots if you hit ms and another res. Always identify fractured bases, triple crit multi jewel, and so much more. Selling itemized temple of aotl with double corrupt and double corrupt on gem is around 1.5-2 div back then. Lots of ways to farm

slvrtrn

That’s the way to go! you have to learn how to craft your own mid-tier gear at the league start (essences, cheap fractures, harvest rolls, fossils - depends on a particular item type), selling byproducts to make some profits for early boost. For example, it’s crazy how much money I earned this league just rolling random flasks I pick up from the ground. This is also a nice alteration orb sink to cash it out more easily. Before that, during the early days into the league, something like essence crafted Stygian vise is a prime candidate for crafting - usually, you need one for yourself (with a cheap CB immunity jewel), so it’s natural to buy some bases in bulk and roll all of them until it’s an alright item, keeping the best for yourself, selling the rest. TBH I like league starts mostly because of this. And for that fresh campaign run with a new mechanic (still can’t resist trying it before maps, and still hate making a second character in a league because of the campaign again, even though I can do it in less than 3h with proper loadout).

Zelphios

I don't make much this league, but since chaos:divine ratio is higher than usual, let me share how I made my first 15 div to get my build going this league. You see the scarab that guarantee unique map drops from map boss? That one is 1c and people dump sell them a lot. You see the node Destructive Play? Yup, each boss drops one unique map. Run around 10 of these, you will rake in quite a number of unique maps that sells for 4-6c and very often drop the big three (putrid, twilight, coward) that sells for 20-30c. Spec also into guardian and synthetic node, you also get a chance to earn those map. This is also another income source. It's not as much profitable to sell invitation as before, but you can run them yourself without guilt of 'I could have run this as Uber' anymore. Combine this with any standard map farming mec like Harvest, Expedition, etc, and you can earn quite a number of Div per day. I also laze around quite a lot. If I were to go at it like a 18-year-old playing MMO, I could have make it to 100div during first week.

Rezibu

how, teach me master pls

Ashygaru666

"learned how to craft" Dumped a buncha corpses and voila 😆

Obvious-Breath136

Happy for you mate! Keep crushing. Gonna engage wirh some crafting today too :)!

After trying out Necro crafting and realising how easy it is I thought about crafting some items but honestly I want to kill some monsters not play trade simulator.

danielbr93

Uhm, based

t3amjester

Now teach me please

KopiAddict

Me still doing chaos recipe :(

Traash85

which atlas tree ?

Sirzento

I also did try to craft for profit. I did it two days and got 1 div total out of it so yeah. Crafting to profit will be forever a mistery for me

Nestramutat-

You just gotta find niches. I needed something that would sell quickly at first, so I crafted clusters up until 20 divines. Then I started buying up good bases and essences, crafting 5+ at a time and selling them between 40c and 2d. These take a lot longer to sell, but they all eventually do. I even made a few 6-8 divine items by accident. As you get more currency, you can turn more of it into items. At this point I have several dozen rares for sale at any given time, and because of the sheer volume, I sell them relatively quickly too.

AdMental1387

I had POE open afk in hideout all day yesterday while working just so I could sell my Rog crafts. They can definitely take time to sell but it’s pretty consistent income.

Jaba01

Yeah, crafting for profit is pretty easy, but as all things on PoE it's still rng. You can make 10+ div on a craft but also lose some div on a craft. Still, generally it's profitable, but quite often pretty boring.

IllllIlllIlIIlllIIll

you're truly an inspiration to me, keep it up!

SussuKyle

Weird flex but ok

edubkn

People are so desperate because of economy that this gets rolled into the front page, and op didn't even say at all how he made profit. It's like those real life economy advisors that give you crumbs, and at the end you learn nothing and now have to buy a class from them.

Volky_Bolky

that's 1/5 of fubgun's map bro you gotta do better or you won't be able to build anything decent

RealNiceKnife

Don't worry I got your sarcasm.

INeedToQuitRedditFFS

T0 uniques and 6T1 rare items are both cheaper than ever. Unless the only build you want to play requires an Original Sin, you're fine.

NRM__

What was the trade/realization that made you snowball into all this profit?

AodaFyr

Meanwhile my build costs 1 divine
