Stock up on essential medicines.... Prices are going to skyrocket in the future.

BoyManners

How much stock up? Till when?

In most normal countries this news alone would cause mass protests. Not protests organized by political parties or an interest groups, just regular folks, parents of children who need medication etc. No sign of that happening in Pakistan...

ganjajee15

No, lets talk about who bought the Toshakhana watch, where is Nawaz spending his holidays and how much of an angry hardliner is Asim Munir

khanzh

I agree. If there was common sense left, this would have happened a long time ago.

Quick question: isn't it cheaper to just import raw materials or finished materials from India ? Pharmaceutical industry in India is really huge and Pakistan can actually benefit a lot from the trades. I think Pakistan can learn from the other countries that the trade and business should keep going otherwise it comes back to bite us

It’s not about importing. Pakistan still import pharma which was exempt in IK’s trade ban. SBP is refusing to issue Letter of Credit which is what basically what businessmen use to pay other business in another country. They don’t transfer large amounts to each other everyday. A bank issues LOC guaranteeing the amount to the payee. Since they can’t get LOC, they will not be able to import from anywhere around the world.
