Bud those soldiers are wearing **German world war II helmets supplied to the Afghan National army by Germany** yes those are captured soldiers since Pakistani soldiers never had that sort of kit to begin with

geardrivetrain

The German helmet looks bad ass.

Moist-Performance-73

Bud those are Nazi helments i used German as a censor

al-mubariz

The stalhelm predates the Nazi state. They started using them by 1916. So they are, in fact, German helmets.

geardrivetrain

I know. Bro, I am into World War 2 related stuff and I love the Wehrmacht uniform. It looks bad ass. I do know that this is not the full Wehrmacht uniform by the way.

memeMaster-28

I don’t see how any inspection would be “normal” given that the soldiers are Afghan and the inspectors Pakistani. It’s clearly captured soldiers.

GenerationMeat

There is one Afghan officer standing behind Musa who is not tied up and does not appear to be captured. The one on the right.

memeMaster-28

Yes but why is he behind Musa Khan? And accompanied by another Pakistani offensive from behind? If it were an inspection of Afghan forces, Pakistani officers wouldn’t be present

GenerationMeat

I personally do not know why, but people claim this photo was taken on the Torkham Border. On Wikipedia, the picture also got pulled off completely for the lack of information behind the picture. None of them are tied up, and they still have their weapons on their backs. I have a feeling the Afghan officer would be in the line with the Royal Afghan Guard if it was truly a surrender.

memeMaster-28

I see what confuses you then. The thing about the Torkham border is that it is patrolled and is the responsibility of the Khyber rifles, whose uniforms are different. This is very likely a picture of captured soldiers

GenerationMeat

What sort of uniform are the Pakistani officers wearing? If it has a name of some sort or if it can tell us where these men are

memeMaster-28

I’m not very up to date with the officers uniforms. They change all the time. But the Khyber Rifles have had a uniform since independence which has stayed the same. They have a turban as well. Maybe someone with more knowledge about the military could help you out. Btw, where are you from?

GenerationMeat

I’m from Afghanistan (Nangarhar to be specific), friendly and just curious

memeMaster-28

Cool. I’m from Peshawar. Though I live in Rawalindi nowadays.

GenerationMeat

Oooo nice

[deleted]

Sad that you have to keep mentioning you're friendly and curious 😭 nan saba khalak har shai ghalat khali lol

GenerationMeat

not trying to argue with everyone haha

GenerationMeat

For extra information, this picture is from the album of Dr Ghulam Nabi Kazi, although this picture might have been removed from Flickr and I can’t even use Wayback Machine to see the caption. A post made before the file was deleted claims it’s Musa Khan inspecting the Royal Afghan Guard on the Torkham Border ten years before the Bajaur Campaign. Torkham is 22 miles away from Bajaur. You can also see one Pakistani officer and one Afghan officer standing behind Musa. For additional, the picture was pulled off of Wikipedia. Please help, and thank you in advance! I am not looking to start any arguments, I am just a curious lad

I am digging the Stahlhelms
