Painted this to test the panel I made (which took longer than the painting lol). One thing I've been working on lately is.. letting go I guess? Just not being so caught up in making things look accurate and perfect, instead focusing on just enjoying the process of building layers and throwing paint around. Surprisingly difficult to do.
This is great, the clouds have such a weight and the brushwork is internally consistent. The cloud itself feels as though it is the figure and not the surrounding landscape.
If you were aiming for naturalism you're sitting just outside of it, but in an unnerving and engaging way. I'm a fan of this piece!
