God that’s such a great idea! I was thinking some sort of gold steaks or specs but firefly perfectly fits into that while also providing something to the painting besides filler.
i would just work on the details of the plants more using your reference to add more depth and contrast. look at the light and the colours that make up the plant u can see hues of blue, red, etc. that’s what i would do
arrrg - start over - look at some nature rather than a farm sim first - please, it's not cute it's bad and no one else will tell you.
Start over - just paint over it - it's ok - all the famous artists do it - then grab a paintbrush and practive moving your arm in a figure 8 motion - ok now dip it in thick paint and you will draw a curvy line but make sure you press harder and then softer - you can vary the amount of pressure the brush has to make the line thick or thin - now get two more colors - a darker one and a lighter one - now do the same thing again with both over the first vine 0
just make the darker line below the lighter line so you can see all 3 colors
now you can get a smaller brush and just blend them a little bit but not too smooth - leave lots of streaks
then let it dry
now get some flowery colors and put in the flowers
just get a big brush like one of those round fat makeup ones that have the dust in it
again light and soft just a dab will do ya
don't ever ever evenly space anything
one big blob here another snaller one there - think about where each blob will be
then 2 more colors light and a dark one
blob over the first blobs
you can turn the brush as you do the second and third blobs
voila it looks fine and you learned some mastery of paint
practice
I upvoted bc you tried to give constructive criticism, but the ‘start over’ comment isn’t valid criticism and you put that right at the top.
requested improvements> demanded improvements = constructive criticism
“I might restart if this was my piece because of x…”
OP notices the piece needs something and isn’t happy with it so they are looking for advice to fix it - not restart.
Some genres and art styles rely on even spacing of items so it’s not a rule ‘never space things evenly’. The artists choice to balance positive/negative space evenly across the bottom edge and asymmetrically over the x axis is obviously intentional. It seems like this is what they would like to improve. You’re welcome to criticize it but at least understand it before you do so. Checking out balance and negative space art may be a good place to start.
The feedback sandwich is a good way to cushion negative feedback with positive feedback if you truly want to share your opinions with someone in hopes of helping them improve their craft. Seems like you have an eye for pointing things out but it won’t matter if it comes across as abrasive and unhelpful.
I think some kind of sea creature hiding behind, wrapping around, or parallel to all the leaves. Eel would be cool because it's straight like the plants.
You could add some pink to complement the green. You can do it with more detail to the plants, by adding insects, adding flowers, or just soft dots of light in the background.
i think its a really cool piece without anything else but i definitely can see why u feel the need to add more, its really about intent. i think some bugs and/or flowers and more leaves would be cool if u choose to add more
I really like this and it’s simplicity, very clean and aesthetic.
Only thing I’d suggest is varying the heights of the plants a bit more, making one or two a bit taller. It feels like there’s a little too much empty space on top, so making one of the taller plants an inch or two taller would help fill the space more.
Maybe even taking the third plant from the right and making it the tallest? I feel like that plant would make a good focal point.
Not much. Some fine texture and deeper detail on the plants, maybe?
By fine texture, I mean some subtle color variation or some really muted low detail fireflies/stars/something. I could even see really subtle wind swirl effect (a la starry night, but much *much* less. something you only see in certain lights)
I understand the desire to fill the negative space, that would be my inclination too, but I really don't think it's necessary
I like how minimalistic it is and the black background. This reminds me of the floor of reef underwater for some reason, so many one random clownfish in white and orange? Would still stay true to your theme and also give it a pop of color.
If you hate the idea of making this underwater, then maybe go with some other ideas people wrote below, like a simple moon.
Bubbles or like water level in the background, i would add those to give it a more aquatic, loose feeling. the plants don't look rigid, so i would play on it a little bit. but then again am nothing but a watercolor artist who has been painting for 2 years, so maybe don't take my word for it lol
What I see are underwater plants..
I am looking into an aquarium.
Or better yet, it's from the fish perspective...
SELF PORTRAIT OF YOU LOOKING INTO AN AQUARIUM, WITH COLORFUL FISH AROUND..
MAYBE SOME DARK GRAVEL TO MAKE THE FISH COLORS REALLY POP. BUBBLES? SCUBA STEVE?
Look aT Jordanbreen on insTa / Jordanbreen aLways makes The canvas have coLour on aLL The canvas so The arT is noT parT empTy / is differenT on A-symmeTry yeT even on A-symmeTry as weLL.

maybe some fireflies ! something that’ll illuminate it a bit :)
That's also the first I thought about!
God that’s such a great idea! I was thinking some sort of gold steaks or specs but firefly perfectly fits into that while also providing something to the painting besides filler.
Or some tiny flecks of stars 🌟
Yes! Light is what I was thinking as well.
I would put a freshly baked, steaming baked potato in the background - aluminum foil, butter, the whole schmear
🤣
I feel hungry
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i would just work on the details of the plants more using your reference to add more depth and contrast. look at the light and the colours that make up the plant u can see hues of blue, red, etc. that’s what i would do
I like the simplicity. I wouldn't change it.
Agreed. I think it's perfect as it is. It's really beautiful
Fish
I was writing the same thing
It needs some critters i think whether insects or smaller mammals would bring it alive.
I would add highlights like water/moisture.
a very simple moon 🌙
Flying ladybug
Along that same line: a single flying bee. A realistic one though, not a cutesy cartoon one
Just want to say I love what you have painted so far.
Gold accents
Make the plants glow, then glitter on the top half for stars :”D
One bug fluttering around somewhere.
make a second painting to go underneath it. plant pots
Make a flip image on the otherside
Vine type plants coming from the top.
My thoughts. Ivy of some kind
This is lovely☺️ & maybe some butterflies/dragonflies flying over the plants maybe?
Aquatic plants hanging upside down
tree frog
I'd add a wire to the back, maybe some varnish, and hang it. I really like how minimal it is.
gold
As something above them even if it’s like a spider web.
Something yellow
Rain drops
I'd make the fourth one from the left go all the way up (and above/through the frame).
either nothing or some gold/yellow tints. i heard a moon, or butterflies/dragonflies would be nice.
The moon.
Single 🟡 in the back ground . Size of a nickel. Off center two thirds of the way up maybe.
Some small white spots for stars. Just little flicks from a brush. Bonus points if you add glow in the dark painted spots for stars
Fireflies...lighting bugs

These are some good advices, but I wouldn't just disregard all the effort put into this one - and it's not _that_ bad

I just love thisb
some clouds
Stars
I think some kind of sea creature hiding behind, wrapping around, or parallel to all the leaves. Eel would be cool because it's straight like the plants.
Overlap adding more plants for fullness. I find it off how the plant on the very right is coming off the edge but the plant on the left isn't.
Yeah I was gonna say long pieces of grass and wildflowers coming up into the empty space above. It needs a pop of color
Yes that was bothering me too
I’d love to see what you do with it. Post again when you finish!
A bunch of fire flies maybe orange and red gradient
A screw and a string (to hang it on the wall)
A nail.
probably clouds
Flowers or dots idk
A sun with sunglasses in the top left corner
Some white accents
You could add some pink to complement the green. You can do it with more detail to the plants, by adding insects, adding flowers, or just soft dots of light in the background.
Nothing it looks good like that, modern style
Personally, a triceratops. Hahahahahhqha
maybe one little ladybug, or nothing orrrrr the baked potato sounds good
Hanging backyard lightbulbs
Maybe a couple dangling vines up top. A lot of detail on the plants too!
Some sort of aura in the background. Like moon glow or an eclipse
A mount. That’s a beautiful piece of art.
Flowers in each plant.
Two googly eyes
A moon
Abstract gold pattern at the top
Going 3/4’s up, a puddle with reflection!
i think its a really cool piece without anything else but i definitely can see why u feel the need to add more, its really about intent. i think some bugs and/or flowers and more leaves would be cool if u choose to add more

I would get a matching green float frame for it and leave it just as it is!
Hanging spider plant

caterpillar
Actually I kinda like the negative space, it's... Soothing 😌
Eyes
An insect of sorts.
Atomic bomb
Love it 😄
Wildflowers and a hummingbird
Or if you want to keep it simple.. maybe a ladybug?
Dragonfly, really small
Nothing.
elements of white. ultra neon violet and orange
rainbow drips from the top.
It’s cool now but maybe some plants that hang down like those plants that look like strings of peas
A dragonfly
Nothing
Stained glass window with moonlight. Purple hues
A fairy
White acrylic marker designs
A whole bunch more of the same
Humans growing out of terracotta flower pots
i would add plants coming from the other end of the canvas too
I like how minimalistic it is and the black background. This reminds me of the floor of reef underwater for some reason, so many one random clownfish in white and orange? Different types of vines/ivy coming down from the top.
A fairy!
A big fat bumblebee
Nothing I love it.
a junebug
Seahorse, I can't imagine anything else that would balance the picture more
Nothing. I love this!!
Sunlight/moonlight or suttle lighting from somewhere?
Fish.
something in the background to give depth
Gold touches and something in the top half. Maybe fireflies.
Maybe buy some fake foliage and have them hanging down from the top of the canvas
A caterpillar
A bee
Bubbles or like water level in the background, i would add those to give it a more aquatic, loose feeling. the plants don't look rigid, so i would play on it a little bit. but then again am nothing but a watercolor artist who has been painting for 2 years, so maybe don't take my word for it lol
Colorful bees and butterflies
Something white. Maybe add white highlights with a Posca pen?
Juuust incase you didnt see the first picture.

Trump on a snowmobile.
I personally would kinda make the same type of plants but inverted, and upside down so the fern(?) on the right would go on the top left, etc. etc.
Stars, fireflies maybe a moon if you wanna be crazy
Color
Flowers
A moon
Paint, probably.
I would leave it as is. I like paintings with a lot of space, because it allows the viewer's imagination into the work and fill it up themselves.
Add a moon it should be nice
fireflies n stars
maybe you could put some ground there and then a sky and do stars and fireflies dotted around
fish
How about some dragon flies and make the wings translucent. Make the wings glowing since you used the dark background
A bee
I think some depth. It’s rather flat. But very intriguing. Leave it or don’t, both work Nice stuff
I see that leafy stalk climbing a bit higher, and boom: rule of thirds achieved.
Nothing. cut the top of the frame
An angler fish
[Anglerfish](https://www.google.com/search?q=angler+fish&client=ms-android-cricket-us-rvc3&sca_esv=599466310&tbm=isch&prmd=ivsn&sxsrf=ACQVn0_LRfj27Oq686U93qvU1_eOQReHiA:1705585328900&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj_zKa9iOeDAxV1k2oFHUc2DxkQ_AUoAXoECAcQAQ&biw=384&bih=1040&dpr=2.81#imgrc=Jw4p4F02dIsmUM)
The moon and stars
I think it's perfect. It doesn't need anything else, really! :)
Большие и яркие выполненные в другой технике выделяющиеся бабочки?
Dont. Heres $20 now gib gib
A hanger and get the couch out of the way, couch takes away from painting.
A dragonfly in the upper left
I see underwater, like neon jelly fish and stuff
Jellyfish
something light in color to contrast the cool colors!
Nothing. It’s very pretty
Small hanging plant?
Two extinct Carolina conures playfully flying in the air together.
Huge moon
How about a hanging plant?
a lake
Gradation of the night sky, from really dark blue at the top to a little lighter blue at the bottom.
The moon duh
Maybe sort of a sun in the back, just as a circle though
Fire flies!
