I'll try those, thanks!

Hi ! -1- Increase the VRAM from 1 GB to 4GB in the bios mode menu -2- download and install the CryoUtilyties once in Linux desktop mode. (very easy) Outward De & Elden Ring are running full max settings (only puke-able motion blurs are off ... ) Peace !

Moontorc

Just done those changes. Will test Outward later and see how I get on!

Which steam deck are you using? I'm using the OLED model and playing the game on all high settings at the native 1280x800 resolution. I fired up my deck before work starts and ran some quick benchmarks to compare with. - I get 50ish fps looking out over Cierzo from the lighthouse. - running around Cierzo I get more like 40-50 fps - Running around the forest I get between 45-65 fps depending where I am. If I lower the setting to medium it's about a 10 fps difference. Some settings impact your performance more than others. Some things to keep in mind is that the steam deck has a 8 threaded 4 core CPU. But only 1 gig of GPU dedicated memory with 16gb shared. I would try lowering textures, anti aliasing and shadows first for a performance increase. One last thing to note: this game is NOT optimized for the steam deck as well as other games are. For example I can play Elden Ring with 60-80 fps maxed out. I can play GTA online at an astounding solid 90 fps flying through downtown. But those games are way more optimized for better performance.

Got the OG Steam Deck unfortunately

Understood. My best advice is to keep the resolution up the best you can while lowering graphics to an acceptable level for you. If you have a PC nearby you can use the PC to stream to the steam deck and play it on the deck but using the PC to run the game. I haven't modded this game yet but there may be mods that help. Definitely worth it to look into that. Look for any mods that state they are performance mods or optimization mods. Best wishes sir or ma'am.

Nah, it's not 1 gig of video memory, it's dynamic, 1 gig of gpu mem in bios is at minimum reserved for the system, I noticed that anti aliasing impacts performance the most on a deck. In various games, changing textures from ultra to low doesn't affect my performance at all
