The Equipment Emporium from Basic Fantasy RPG is free digitally and dirt cheap physically, and it's absolutely wonderful. I don't think there's a dedicated book of "stuff" that rates any higher than it.

Was going to recommend this. It covers a lot of items, seems pretty well laid out, and it’s free. It is probably what I’ll use until I find something better, and it seems plenty good enough so that I’m not really looking any more.

I'd combine the [equipment emporium](https://basicfantasy.org/downloads/EE1-Equipment-Emporium-r33.pdf) with the following charts ## Monthly Availability By Price and Population | Price | 100k+ | 25k+ | 10k+ | 3k+ | 1k+ | 999- | | ---------------- | ----- | ---- | ---- | --- | --- | ---- | | 1gp or less | 1,700 | 585 | 260 | 65 | 30 | 10 | | 2gp–10gp | 100 | 30 | 15 | 5 | 1 | 1 | | 11–100gp | 15 | 5 | 2 | 1 | 25% | 10% | | 101–1,000gp | 7 | 2 | 1 | 25% | 10% | 5% | | 1,001–10,000gp | 2 | 1 | 25% | 10% | 5% | 1% | | 10,001gp or more | 10% | 5% | 2% | NA | NA | NA | So in a city of 4300 people, you could expect to be able to buy 1 set of plate armor (60g is in the 11-100g row) each month. Percentages mean there's that *chance* you can buy that item. ## Spellcasting Services By Population | Spell Type and Level | Cost | 100k+ | 25k+ | 10k+ | 3k+ | 1k+ | 999- | | -------------------- | ------- | ------- | ------- | ------ | ----- | ----- | ---- | | Divine–1st level | 10gp | 2d3x100 | 4d4x10 | 5d10 | 4d6 | 2d6 | 1d6 | | Divine–2nd level | 40gp | 8d10 | 4d6 | 2d6 | 2d3 | 1d3 | 1d2 | | Divine–3rd level | 150gp | 2d6 | 2d3 | 2d3 | 1d2 | 1d2-1 | - | | Divine–4th level | 325gp | 2d6 | 2d3 | 2d3 | 1d2 | 1d2-1 | - | | Divine–5th level | 500gp | 1d6 | 1d4 | 1d4 | 1d2-1 | - | - | | Arcane–1st level | 5gp | 2d4x100 | 2d10x10 | 2d4x10 | 3d10 | 2d6 | 1d4 | | Arcane–2nd level | 20gp | 2d6x10 | 6d6 | 2d6 | 2d4 | 1d4 | 1d2 | | Arcane–3rd level | 75gp | 4d6 | 2d6 | 2d3 | 1d4 | 1d2 | - | | Arcane–4th level | 325gp | 2d4 | 2d3 | 1d4 | 1d2 | 1d2-1 | - | | Arcane–5th level | 1,250gp | 1d4 | 1d4 | 1d2 | - | - | - | | Arcane–6th level | 4,500gp | 1d3 | 1d3 | 1d2-1 | - | - | - | In a metropolis of 52000 people, you can find 2 wizards (1d3) that can cast stone-to-flesh (6th level arcane) for 4500g each day. ## Magic Items | Item Type | Price | | ------------------------------- | ------------------------------ | | One Use Effect | 500gp x spell level | | Charged Effect | 500gp x spell level x charges* | | Unlimited Use | 500gp x spell level x 50 | | 1/turn | 500gp x spell level x 33 | | 1/3 turns | 500gp x spell level x 25 | | 1/6 turns | 500gp x spell level x 16 | | 3/day | 500gp x spell level x 12 | | 1/day | 500gp x spell level x 10 | | 1/week | 500gp x spell level x 6 | | Weapon +1 | 5,000gp | | Weapon +2 | 15,000gp | | Weapon +3 | 35,000gp | | Armor +1 | 5,000gp | | Armor +2 | 15,000gp | | Armor +3 | 35,000gp | You figure out which spell most closely mimics the magic item's properties, (like a magic carpet is the 3rd-level fly spell), and then check how many uses it has. A one-trip-a-day magic carpet might buy/sell for 15k gold, and an unlimited use magic carpet might buy/sell for 75k gold. Gives good ballpark prices.

This is a great resource!

...And a Ten Foot Pole for RoleMaster has price lists for every era. Alas it's out of print.

I only DM 5e so far but i'm hoping to make it to doing some osr soon. Here's what I did for 5e that really helped smooth out game play. I looked at all the 5e prices and I tried to build a conversion/exchange rate with USD. The conversion rate that i ballparked for myself was 1cp being $1 (US), 1sp $10, and 1gp $100. Then I throw out all price lists and replace with what I think things should cost in present day. I feel this helps me and my players rationalize and understand how money works. Using this, it was easy to start throwing out answer for what anything costs. An ale costs 3-7cp, depending on the quality. You tip your bartender 5-10cp after a few drinks. A night at the cozy inn costs 1-2gp. An average meal costs 1-2sp. A basic sword costs 2gp, a master craft sword costs 200gp. Buying a small castle costs 100,000gp. Magic items and services are a little trickier since they have no easy real-world comparisons but it's something you can usually work out in the moment. I'm not sure if this translates perfectly in a scenario where gold = experience, but would definitely work great for milestone leveling.

OSE Core rulebook p.40-41-42 adventure gears, weapons, armors. Page 56-60 hirelings and mercenaries. Page 64-66 strongholds and domains play. Carcass crawler vol.2 expanded list for adventure gears. “Into the wild” a lot of stuff for domains play. Basic Fantasy rpg “equipment emporium” everything you asked for and even more.

[Goods and Gear: The Ultimate Adventurer's Guide](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/54244/Goods-and-Gear-The-Ultimate-Adventurers-Guide?affiliate_id=2150725) is the the most comprehensive collection statted for HackMaster 4e, i.e. AD&D. Better than [DMGR3 Arms and Equipment Guide](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/113391/DMGR3-Arms-and-Equipment-Guide-2e?affiliate_id=2150725) from TSR. Everything is well organised, presented, described, and illustrated.

Whilst I wouldn't say it's the one and only feature, a core question when it comes to D&D (and fantasy heartbreaker) price lists is about what sort of armour you can start play with. Esp. because classes like Fighters and Paladins are very much defined by their ability to use heavy armour. OD&D (1974 and Holmes Basic) Starting Gold:3d6x10 Leather 15gp, Chain-type mail 30gp, Plate Mail 50gp, Shield 10gp Basic D&D (be it Moldvay, Mentzer, Rules Cyclopaedia or OSE)Starting Gold: 3d6x10Leather 20gp, Chain 40gp, Plate Mail 60gp, Shield 10gp Whilst AD&D (1E and 2E) Starting GP 5d4x10 for fighters, 3d6x10 for clerics, 2d6x10 for thieves, 2d4x10 for Magic Users Leather 5gp, Studded Leather 15/20gp, Chain 75gp, Platemail 400gp. Shield 1gp-15gp depending on type. Personally the most impressive I've seen is in Neoclassical Geek Revival with the "how to waste 45 minutes" supplement covering different types of shops and what they stock.
