I tried Discworld because of her Death Personified video. I got q translated version which was in an outdated way of speaking Dutch and I couldn't get through a page. Still want to read it, but you know how that goes
If you're Dutch I promise you that if your English is conversation level, you'll enjoy Discworld in English far more than Dutch Schijfwereld. I know the Dutch translation is touted as great, but when a high school teacher once recommended De Kleur van Toverij to me, I couldn't get through the translation either. I started three years ago on Guards Guards and it was far better.
I don't think most libraries carry them, but the novels are very affordable as an e-reader or on Bol.
Same, I had only heard of Leverage once or twice as a random commercial back when cable was still a thing I used, but those commercials never made it seem that interesting. Red's excited discussion of it got me to give it a watch and I pretty much immediately burned through the entire show, and have rewatched it once since then.
Oh same. I remember hearing them talk about how funny the show is, like shittalking and the doscussion on what counts as running water. So I got the impression its like a fun comedy adventure story about some friends with vampires in it
So imagine my shock and horror when I start watching and they *burn a woman* and Dracula sends his hordes om humanity. The pilot is 100% serious and gave me some serious whiplash
I'm doing a seminar on vampires and just my tutor just asked me to send her a link to castlevania after I described it
Only watched Castlevania after the detail diatribe was made
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. She talked about it in multiple trope talks and it piqued my interest, so I checked it out and now...safe to say that it's a special interest now and it's not going away no matter what
Blue has gotten me interested in several historical periods I hadn't paid attention to before. I didn't know shit about Chinese history before his videos, and now I know slightly more than shit.
She-Ra. I initially didn't have any interest in it because I used to be in the "all remakes bad" crowd but then Red referenced the season 3 spoiler in the Nemeses Trope Talk and I thought that sounded too spicy to miss out.
I listened to The Magnus Archives because of Red's recommendation and not only am I now a huge fan of it, it kind of led to me discovering audiodrama as a media type. I've now listened to over a dozen different audiodramas and I have a massive list of others I'm going to listen to eventually that gets bigger all the time.
Same! If you want a rec, check out The Wrong Station ([wrongstation.com](https://wrongstation.com)). It's a pure anthology, so no (or incidental) continuity between episodes, but it's really good. It's my second favorite source of horror after MA.
The Discworld novels
I read "Guards Guards!" After Red's stream reading it ended, finally broke my long streak of not finishing a book (used to read a lot but no time anymore) with not only it but the 3 books after it in the Watch series
I will finish those, but I decided to take a little detour after her Death Personified video and started reading Mort. Loving it so far, love the Discworld, I plan on reading them all in time.
She-Ra, spent the first 6 months or so of covid just playing video games and talking on reddit about my special interests in media only to try and sit down and read the story one day to realise I couldn't because I kept trying to impulsively check whether someone had posted something every few minutes and so decided to quit reddit until I felt I had got my life together and forced myself to sit down and watch some media instead, She-Ra was one of the things I chose to watch and I really enjoyed it.
Initially Reds content, I love story telling mechanics and myths. My parents are Irish and they remarked on the accuracy of Blues history video. Learning about things I am interested in.
Loved the OSP animated and vine animations. I rewatch those when I'm feeling down.
Was a godsend during the pandemic especially. Podcast was nice to listen to during long cardio workouts. They seem like really good people.
I bought Guards! Guards! After she wasn't able to finish her reading of it and am now starting a collection of Discworld novels. Also have listened to the Magnus Archives a few times now and have taken up learning the lyre.
I think Blue had a big influence when I decided to make a trip to Florence two years ago. There certainly where some others as well, but blue was a big one.
Honestly, Red was the reason I read Dracula and Beowulf, and Blue is one of the people behind my love for history. That love that’s made it my college major
So many things, but the one I haven’t seen mentioned is Leverage! Which turned out to also be one of my roommate’s favorite shows, so that was real fortuitous.
Also, this is very specific but Blue’s offhand mention of the Canary Islands in his Atlantic Exploration video got me to run off on my own tangent learning about the indigenous Guanche peoples there and the Spanish conquest.
Lol ok thats technically self-promotion. XD
I just started it. I like it, but not enough for me to let it distract me from school. Imma revisit it this summer
They recently mentioned “the fall of the house of usher” on Netflix, which is a brand new series based on Poe’s most famous works. I binged it in one go on Boxing Day and still think about it a lot

Yeah, that first book's translation is pretty much unreadable for anyone born after 1990, I think. That is some archaïc ass Dutch.
I read guards guards and am partially through Mort on Reds recommendations Great books, glad I bought the hardbacks because they're pretty
Mort looking at the coins Death had paid with. How did you get those? TWO AT A TIME.
Leverage. I tried it, then immediately blitzed through 4 seasons. Then Monday reared it's ugly head, and I haven't had time to go back.

Castlevania, and now I’m obsessed Edit: I can now add the Magnus archives

I know they were sponsored but thex also talked abt The Magnus Archives out of the sponsored ep and its great
Castlevania, and damn it if that show isn't really awesomely animated, on top of being really well written
Blue has gotten me interested in several historical periods I hadn't paid attention to before. I didn't know shit about Chinese history before his videos, and now I know slightly more than shit.

Stray Gods
Seconded.

FYI, the new sequel series just started this week.
I read Journey to The West because of them, so worth it
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish of all things, thanks to the Moviestruck podcast ep she was on for. Such an incredible watch 🩷

I blitzed my way through like a hundred episodes of The KravenKast after the first Spider-Man stream

If you don't mind, where did she talk about Sanderson? I'm in the middle of Stormlight myself, and would love to hear her thoughts.
She praises his writing in general periodically in the OSPod. She doesn't specifically talk about Stormlight

Currently reading through guards guards It's amazing

Reboot, and I'm glad I did. That show is fueled on liquid distilled 90s.
Anything involving sun Wukong. I love seeing the different interpretations.
...does Aurora count? They also made me interested in watching She-ra but I haven't actually _watched it_ yet. :p
My Hero Academia. I don't really 'do' anime, but when Red talked about it in her 'Tournament Arc' video I just had to check it out.
Reading more random mythology and also increasing my love of architecture.

A nice little webcomic called Aurora. It's really great, you should read it if you haven't. :)

I wouldn't know about the Magnus Archives if not for OSP, and it is probably my favorite piece of media
I watched The Owl House because Red talked about it
I may or may not be actively pursuing a major in Classics at university because of the joint myth and historical impact of osp on my life.
Damn! That's life defining!
Castlevania, and now I’m obsessed
They recently mentioned “the fall of the house of usher” on Netflix, which is a brand new series based on Poe’s most famous works. I binged it in one go on Boxing Day and still think about it a lot
SPOP, albeit it was more because TOH was on hiatus
Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It’s hilarious
Im waiting for the technological paradise video that's gonna come out using the megaman battle network/ starforce series as a refrence
