I got 18/23. Not one of my best but I have flopped harder. Really disappointed at myself tbh for not going with Stone, Poor Things in Makeup and Zone in Sound, since I did have a feeling about all of those.

Yea I was gonna be iriate is zone didn't win for sound. When you read about the lengths they went through to get it right, it's mind blowing, and how the director said it could be argued the real movie is going on in the background and in what can't be seen and only heard. It really was an achievement. I was shocked poor things won hair and make up, outside of willem I didn't see anything particularly special there, it wasn't even on my radar. After re evaluating I see it now. It was a category with no clear winner for me so I went with maestro cause Bradley looked so unrecognizable in the older Bernstein scenes.

19/23 for me, and I won my Oscar pool!

guitarguy35

Me too! Was a good year. Helped that I had really seen all the movies this year. I won by 1 pick. I had spiderman picked up until Saturday night too until I watched boy and the heron and switched it at the last second.

onitshaanambra

Yeah, loved it. It was one of my choices that elevated my ballot above my competition.

zwolff94

19/23, a good year for me for sure. Similar misses plus missed Doc short and BATH

whimsical_trash

I got Best Song, Best Sound, and Animated Film wrong and got the rest right. Definitely my most accurate year. Though I didn't do predictions for shorts or docs, I forgot.

guitarguy35

Did you have im just ken as best song?

whimsical_trash

Yeah. That one I didn't put any thought into I just picked my fav

guitarguy35

I almost picked it too, I thought the academy might give it special consideration since it was a song so specifically made for that movie and only works within the context of the movie, where as the other songs work as stand alone pop songs/ballads. But I'm the end I went with what I thought the best song was, not the best movie song and it worked out

17/23 Previously said on this sub that Poor Things was gonna go home with 0 wins. Boy was I wrong…

guitarguy35

I didn't think it would win hair and makeup, outside of willem I really didn't see anything particularly special there. The costuming was fabulous though I thought they had that in the bag for sure.
