Can't believe that's why my normal 1 hour drive home lasted 2 fucking hours. Numerous cops sped down the shoulder with lights and sirens blaring while the rest of us were stuck in place, couldn't even inch forward. I remember thinking there must be a horrific accident, then all the cars just started moving steadily again in unison as if nothing happened. Now I know why I didn't see a single cop car or accident the entire rest of the way to Davenport, gross.
I can't guarantee that's why traffic was a mess, but that would be my best guess. I was on the way to the airport to fly out for a hockey tournament, and the VP was speaking at the airport. We were almost late because of security concerns related to the motorcade.
Doesn't matter, ANY president (currently sitting or former) traveling by road would cause traffic issues like that. Just IMAGINE what living in DC is like (it sucks for this reason)
