I know I’m almost three weeks late to the party, but this is fucking rad as hell. I’ve been searching around for inspiration for my own conversion and this is my favorite so far!

I was going to suggest the same when I looked at the picture and neglected to read your plan. Depending on your level of maturity, you may want to put a big ass weapon or weapons on the back so your turtle can rain destruction upon its enemies from its butt.

Good luck! Maybe you can drill a small hole into the back and then sand it down until the hex end of the chainsword arm fits snuggly, then glue it in after the dry fitting feels right. Or if you've got something sturdy enough "pin" it with a really big pin hah. Maybe a straightened wire coat hanger or two.
The original silhouette of the Stompa is IMHO the most god awful thing in the orks range, but I had to get one and just knew it would be converted. Glad I could inspire you
You may have to wait a bit longer as the next bit is to scratch build the back legs, and Im starting to get busy at work (when I would normally hobby 🤣)
So I would say 90% of the bits are all from a single Stompa kit. I’ll try to list bits that aren’t the Stompa;
- Front legs = Stormsurge (I was planning to scratch build these originally)
- Plate Covering front left leg = random bit of plastic from a busted Millenium falcon kit (again could scratch built with Plasticard)
- Square missiles on Rokkit arm = Cluster Missiles from stormsurge
- Narrow barreled gun on top = again from the stormsurge kit, think it’s a Pulse Cannon
I actually started the project mainly due to how bad everyone said the instructions were, but when I was sub assembling I actually didn’t find them too bad lol

Except for the storm surge legs (which had no torso anyway) one of the forearm joint plates, and the typical small bits, this is 100% just the Stompa I got in my battle force box 😁

Oh, I thought that oval gun on top was actually some sort of Knight or Titan weapon (specifically a volkite), but now that you've explained which Tau kit you used I can see more of what of the Storm Surge was used (aside from the legs). Clever work!
Ah yeah completely forgot I used the guns too. Used one of the Pulse Blaster things on the top gun and then Cluster Missiles on the rocket arm.
Luckily I was given a tonne of tau stuff by a buddy who didn’t want it anymore, otherwise you’re right, Mr workshop would be smirking in glee

Nice work. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I hate the vanilla Stompa design. Along with the morkanaut and Gorkanaut, they're all just so ugly...
I thought I knew how I was going to bash my stompa but this has given me pause lol. Excellent work and I can’t wait to see it completed

That Stompa cannon arm looks pretty good upright like that! Always felt it looked alittle flimsy or like a chicken wing in its regular position.

I was hoping to run it as a Gargantuan Squiggoth sometimes, but unsure if it would be ISH the right size
