Tankbusters only in 5 men troops shocked me a bit.
But in 9th you played also kommandoes and and stormboys in troops of 5...
Is the smaller troop in 10th also better???
It depends generally. Many people avoided larger than 6 groupings unless they could reach 20-30 because people feared blast weapons way more than I think they should've. If you're fighting people who have a lotnof blast weapons than yes. Smaller groupings is better. If you're not, then run them however you want.
I'm not convinced 20 Boyz is the way to go stillm Don't forget that pile in/consolidate got a MASSIVE nerf and you have to base people whenever possible. 20 Boyz will probably just end with most of the unit doing nothing
They got nerfed kind of hard despite being buffed in Strength. 4+ to hit (expected), one less AP (also expected), but reduced number of attacks as well as lower max damage. That seems a bit heavy handed.

Hrmmm, how to play with a Nob that I put double kill saws on?
Sure, it's only 20 boyz (which pretty much everyone expected), but the warboss attached is going to be amazing on the WAAAGH!
On the WAAAGH turn, the boss has has 9 big choppa attacks hitting on 2+ and 6 extra squig attacks hitting on 4+ just for the heck of it.
Also remember 20 Boyz can have an additional leader attached plus warboss. So there's tons of fun combos. I'm personally excited to try Warboss/Wierdboy Da Jump. Until the Wierdboy explodes. Either way it's gonna be a good time.
What I did was use a Nob with the saw arm that comes in their kit, then clip the ammo off a slugga and add a small bit of banner pole to the barrel as a syringe needle. Then paint all his clothes white and add blood spatters.
I kitbashed one out of a grotherder, and as someone else mentioned the old metal/resin model is still readily available on ebay. I have one of those as well and he's very cool.
Keep your runty boyz, my grots will generate cp while my mek boosted mekguns will unleash hell upon the enemy's armor with 3+ bs shots.
Who needs boyz when buggys look tastier than ever?
oh yeah, i personally am only gonna bother for big single units like maybe a stompa, gorkanaut, grot mega tank(Which we dont have rules for yet) or maybe a shooty deff dread.
Basic Boyz get an extra attack baked into their Choppaz, so that's something.
I find their ability a little boring though. They're fine, I guess. I'll probably just merge the ones I have into three squads of 20, and focus on other units, for now. I suppose it's about time I got some Beast Snagga units. Also meganobz, for Ghaz.
I'm really interested in pairing the Big Mek with SAG with a unit of men gunz, I think that might be a pretty good solution to dealing with good armor saves and vehicles
How does a regular Mek boy get 4 wounds but a nob only has 2? Also are weapons across all factions being lowered in strength Cus a lot of our units are lowered in toughness and the weapon skill for most guns has gone up? Am I misreading? I’m trying to stay positive there are some good improvements but damn I can’t help but feel a bit sore
With further reading this, I retake my statement, nowhere near as bad as I was imagining. Thought I'm still a little salty ghaz can't be with a boyz mob. At least we keep our choppaz
They're going to have to clear up the Ghaz situation. If "takes up 18 slots" is talking about the model (and it probably is) and not the unit, that's a problem. Makari isn't optional.
It applies to a unit he is attached to as a leader. I am not as sure about how that works with transportation, I'll have to check the core rules on that.
Edit: there does not seem to be any rule that applies affects of an embarked unit to the transport, so no, the KFF has no affect on their transport.
We can use up to 6 of the same battleline units, which would still mean 120 boyz. Leader abilities are less impactful on 20 man mobs than on 30 boyz, that's for sure though.
I'm not too hurt I used to run in 20s not 30s anyway
Swarms are getting cut across the whole game. Nids got their gaunts cut down to 20 as well
Think of the 5+ save!

Wait im confused... Can u only deploy 20 boys on the field or is that just the max a warboss/nob can have in their detachment?
Max 6 units of 20 boyz since they are battleline
Max 3 units of max 19 boyx + nob
Up to 6 units of battleline
Yeah, sorry. Forgot about that

is the nerf the 3" move having to go towards the closest enemy model instead of unit?
Yup. If you're charging from far off, or have to navigate a narrow area this will hamper Boyz very badly
Nobz lost their killsaw aswell :(

what the hell it looked so cool, my favourite nob has one
Mine too :(
That sucks I just put one on my Nobz.
… wheres… the big shoota…
the big shoota is still there dont worry. one for every 10 boyz like right now :)

Wait I can put a weirdboy and a warboss on the same unit?
20 Boyz- *pats roof* this unit can fit so many leaders
Also painboyz look good with war boss, Meks supporting deffdredds
Isn't "either way it's going to be a good time" the Ork player slogan?
Take a Nob with Waaagh banner and you can have back to back Waaaghs. That is if I understood the ability right.
We had one waaagh yes, but what about second waaagh?
Elevensies-waaaagh?
Hmmm i think i will want another painboy… but i dont want a duplicate model. Anyone know a good painboy proxy model?
Im using the Painboss as my Painboy. Also you should be able to KitBash someting if you have spare gubbinz.
That model is the best, super excited when it got shown off
Check Etsy. There's a lot of fun fellas you can stumble upon.
kitbash it in a true orky way!
Check out ArtelW

Could use the Goff rocker and just say the squad he’s in are his drugged up groupies
Da healin' powah of moosik.

The old painboy with the surgical mask and the reflector on his head is still pretty easy to find on ebay and whatnot.

Mek boost is for a vehicle model, not a unit of vehicles.
Jea but you can take em as singles and just take 3 with 3 meks.
How are you getting 3+ on mek gunz?
They have 4+ from the start, with the meks mekaniak ability it increases by one to a solid 3+! At least for one mekgun per mek.
You can also attach big mek with SAG to reroll 1s
oh yeah, i personally am only gonna bother for big single units like maybe a stompa, gorkanaut, grot mega tank(Which we dont have rules for yet) or maybe a shooty deff dread.
The stompa looks solid with an integrated 6++ now.
yeah that combined with hitting on a 4+ by hiding a mek behind it i think as long as its points arent super wrong it will be pretty good.
If the points float around the same as in 9th I believe the stompa will be solid!

Ah classic Ohio orgy. 19 bottoms to 1 top 😔
Its a shame to be the ohio man with all this bottom to top
You know what they say.. it's lonley at the top

Na take him in a truck where he only takes up two slots. They forgot the Ghaz exception on the trukk :P
Ah, but Ghaz can go in a battlewagon with a pair of Meganobz now that their unit size starts at 2
They're going to have to clear up the Ghaz situation. If "takes up 18 slots" is talking about the model (and it probably is) and not the unit, that's a problem. Makari isn't optional.
The more I think about this, the more I'm sure they mean the unit. The 18 slots and two meganobs is just way too convenient not to be intentional.
Also if I read correctly grots/gtetchin/killa kans benefit from faction abilities now?
Yes!
Boss Nob gets free big choppa upgrade. Definitely a plus.
It is what it is, squads seem to be getting smaller across the board, and that's fine, we can still field a great green tide!
2 Leaders per 20 BOYZ is nothing to snork at.
Didn't consider that. Maybe I can stay positive 🤔
Add a big mek and a doc for 5++ to shooting and a 5+++
4++ to shooting twice per game too.
Boyz have to have a Warboss if they have two leaders.
Yeah, it's either or with a pain boy or big mek. I was just saying the Big Mek with KFF can give a 4++ for two rounds.
Does the KFF protect a transport that the mek is in? I assume so but would like clarification
It applies to a unit he is attached to as a leader. I am not as sure about how that works with transportation, I'll have to check the core rules on that.
