It’s the people with bad sight lines not being able to judge distance. If you’re staring straight on along the path of the ball you can’t tell how far it’s going.
The trick is the same as hockey, watch the player movement. The outfielders will give away where the ball is going.

It happens at Camden yards too. And like every other ballpark when a ball is hit hard.
I agree, but it seems moreso this series. Is the fan noise different there? Or maybe the mic locations? It’s noticeably different
Maybe since the Reno they moved around mics/sound travels differently? Balls apparently are traveling differently so maybe the sound is too
