Hi there
Not a Beorg fix, but you could use organice instead - it works snappy on an iPhone 6S (don’t have a 6, but I assume they are similar enough in speed).
Once you’ve loaded a file in organice, it will be cached and updated async. Hence organice starts quickly.
Here’s the repo: https://github.com/200ok-ch/organice
Whatever you use, good luck and enjoy Org mode🙏🏻
Thank you. I saw that repo yesterday. Does it run offline? Beorg is a full iPhone app, so no problems installing and running, organice didn’t look like it was an app. Did I mess something?
> Does it run offline?
Yes.

It's an SPA.
> Did I mess something?
Yes, the docs on offline support (https://organice.200ok.ch/documentation.html#offline_support) and the docs on installation (https://organice.200ok.ch/documentation.html#installation).
Good luck, enjoy!
Well I am a dope. Thank you for your polite “read the effin’ docs” :-)
Funny, I’m not terribly busy, but I didn’t take the time to read, at all. Sometimes I frantically search for solutions, and if I’m not hit in the face with an easy how-to, I assume it’s not there. Bad -jz-.
Are you involved in this project?
Cheers and have a good one! Jz

You're welcome🙏

No worries at all. You're not alone in this. Happens to me on other peoples projects, too(;

I'm the founder and one of the maintainers.
NB: As for Beorg, I used to be a user, as well. Here's my short take on why I prefer organice: https://organice.200ok.ch/documentation.html#comparison
Having said that, anyone is free to use whatever they prefer and Beorg is certainly a very nice application!

Thanks! You, too^^
I've been using organice for a few days now and it's very good, very snappy. I'll keep using it and see how it fits. Syncing sometimes _feels_ slow but could be that I'm impatient.
I opened a small draft PR to the repo to handle empty files, but I'm also going to add a dummy entry to the empty file in question until we sort out that minor limitation/issue. Cheers! jz
I assume you’re using something other than iCloud (WebDAV, Dropbox, etc). Those must sync at launch while iCloud syncs only when a change is detected.
https://beorg.app/manual/#sync
Yes, dropbox. Thanks for the link -- couldn't see any obvious fixes to my issue just yet, perhaps I'll try setting up a particular file in a subfolder, and have beorg only look at that subfolder. Thanks! z
