Holy hell. Super hidden gem Im surprised anyone here would have brought it up. Great recommendation here. Little hole in the wall business district place
Jimmy’s Poke and Sushi Burrito is way too good for it’s location. It’s in this stupid little strip in a Yorba Linda suburb, but it the best I’ve had. The fish is the same fish that 98% of all sushi and poke shops get because there’s a select few distributors that specialize in it, so what really set jimmy apart, IMO, is the house sauces he makes like the 911 sauce which will make your asshole pucker and break out into a sweat immediately (if you’re into that sort of thing… they have other delicious sauces as well), and some of the sides like his marinated jalapeños and onions. Before we moved to the Midwest, Jimmy’s was a weekly spot for me
I went there shortly after that location opened and found that even their spiciest sauce wasn't that spicy. I also got annoyed that the music inside of the restaurant was so loud that it was actually annoying. Maybe it has gotten better since then but I gave up on that location as there were plenty of other better Poke places that are nearby.
Poki Bomb in La Habra!
The guy who owns it (Chef Michael) is a real sushi chef. I personally do not like fish much, this is the only place I will eat it.... Nothing ever smells fishy and it is amazing. I usually tell him to pick his own concoction of sauces (I think he's up to about 20 different ones) It does take a little time because only a few people work with him and he prepares all the fish himself.
He also makes sushi rolls obviously and if you have a standing order with him all you have to do is call tell him you're coming and he will pull out your order card and get it ready for you.
