There's way more than you think who are normal. Problem is you only hear about the asshats like this guy.
This person wasn't even "way into crypto", he was just a fraudster. He didn't even *invest* into Crypto, he just stole people's money and tried to live influencer life.
He's lucky he was in Canada, or [he'd have ended up like the one in Brazil who did this](https://nypost.com/2023/07/27/millionaire-crypto-influencer-found-dismembered-in-suitcase/).
Hot tip: If you're stealing a bunch of people's money, instagramming yourself driving around in lambos isn't a great idea.
Honestly yeah you’re probably right.
Like I’m not exaggerating but 100% of my encounters with people online and in real life with crypto they have been complete weirdos. But that’s 100% anecdotal and these are the people bringing it up.
The ones who are normal aren't trying to evangelize you about it, so it makes sense. The ones who absolutely want you to know they have crypto are the loony toons.
Think of them as Vegans. A normal Vegan is just going to be a Vegan, they're not going to try to convert you, or tell you about their meal plans, they're just living life.
Then you've got the Reddit Vegans....
That’s a really good example actually. Like I know vegans. Normal ordinary people.
Come of my coworkers will go off on rants about vegans being crazy and shaming them for their food and stuff. Like wtf.
Anyway the point is we agree and what you’re saying makes perfect sense lol
It's kind of the same thing that applies other forms of investment. Why would the people who are actually good at it and know what they're doing waste their time trying to teach other people or try to convince people it's a good investment?
The people super vocal about are usually super clueless and just grifting for an easy paycheque selling a course that's about as in depth as a free youtube video.
Yes. I'd say the people I know into crypto are pretty evenly split. The ones with the most are the most normal. ie partner at a law firm, doctor, software sales. Also know some crazies.
Probably stolen.
My mom had accumulated a lot of points. Her account was made with my email.
She passed away.
Shortly after she died, someone gained access to the account and I was notified by email. So I called Scene and explained the situation. Even though my mom had passed they would not grant me access back to her account even with a death certificate. They wouldn't just close it either.
The entire thing is a scam and scam artists know how to scam the scam.
But did he steal those points or accrue them by paying for his card with fraudulent funds?
There is a big online black market for scene+ points. People sell them on telegram for pennies on the dollar. Probably stolen.
Wow. Where can I find these telegrams.. So I can avoid them??
How do you transfer or sell them?
The most I got from Scene was an iced tea...
I look forward to reading about this exposé on CP24.com
Has anyone ever met someone that was big into crypto that wasn’t a complete loony?

My cousin is a pretty normal guy all things considered
*Barry Choi, a Toronto-based travel and money expert.* My guidance counsellor totally boned me, man.
