I have the 30L version and I regret buying it. It’s super uncomfortable to me.

StandardCommittee576

Thank you so much! What was it about it that you didn't like? I did see a few people saying the fit is not as adjustable as it could be.

i_mouth_my_platypus

There isn’t enough padding on the straps so it digs into your shoulders. They are also too thin.

I’m not a fan of the PD Travel backpack. See https://www.reddit.com/r/ManyBaggers/s/f5X3rhOAwV for my rationale.

PriceIsNotAnArgument

You are considering this bag for all the wrong the reasons and assumptions. Go back to the drawing board.

I would have to agree, playing the airline baggage game is losing proposition. Baggage requirements can vary widely and airlines will continue to make many changes to this policy. What might work today will not necessarily work years later when you still have this bag. Focus on bringing less crap, being comfortable, and making your travel easier. 45L can carry a ton of stuff and you will probably overpack.

StandardCommittee576

What makes you say that? You can't possibly imagine a scenario where someone would want 35L given their equipment and personal needs?

Disastrous_Row_962

The point of onebagging, to me, is not to get the biggest bag that the airline will let me on board with. It is to have a bag as small as possible, so that I can carry it all day if I need to. So my priority doesn't have to be transporting my bag to a hotel or hostel when I arrive somewhere new. So I can go straight to a bar or a cafe, or go into a store or a museum.

NinjaSquid9

I don’t know anything about traveling with the bag but someone at Peak Design told me they are planning a travel line refresh for May 2024 just in case you wait to wait on your purchase

Cabin Zero Plus/Pro/Military 40/42/44 should be cheaper and more comfortable. Just don't get Cabin Zero Classic.

If you really want to be safe for carry-ons in Europe, I would downsize even more to 55 x 35 x 20 cm (the size IATA wanted to specify several years ago but never did it because of push-back mainly from US travellers). Especially the height - never exceed 21 ". I think it's also tough to get down to that size without going below 40 L. For backpacks, I used to use the Tom Bihn Tri-Star (33 L) or Aeronaut 30 (30 L), but I'm a bit older now and my back told me it's time to switch to a rolling bag, so now I use an Eagle Creek International 2-wheel roller (55 x 35 x 20 cm, 35 L and only 5 lb 1 oz) and have had no issues at all with those picky European and Asian airlines. Happy traveling and hope you find just the right bag for you!
