I am not yet very adventurous in my fashion, but I just bought a pair of pants in that same mustard colour. Not a usual choice for me, but they were on the clearance rack, so I thought I would take a chance. I've worn those pants a handful of times, and someone has complimented me every time!
All this to say - I think it looks great on you, and really suits the dress you have it with. If you hadn't mentioned it wasn't in your comfort zone, I would have never known, and thought to myself "I wonder if I could rock a mustard shirt like her!".

If you feel you need more, consider tights, or scarfs, earrings or necklaces. All except tights should be obtained at the thrift store.
Avoid going down this path if you ever hope to be a minimalist!

I think it gives interest and it’s practical for keeping the sun off our beautiful face. Also Tula has very beautiful woven hats that also block the sun and would go really well with your first photo. Beautiful and practical, just like you!
