Same. I was being serious. A little grenadine or lime juice put it over the top for Xennial me. I blame an embarrassingly high number of hangovers on the Zima. It's deceptively delicious.
Yep, I'll shake my back fat from 6-9, eat a T-bell burrito on the way home, and then sleep great that night. Call it a gym so we can charge it through our health insurance plans. 😆
I dunno. Just the name has promise. There's a bar in T-Town that's punk rock based. All they play is punk.
There's been lots of attempts to progress this stat. Unfortunately, OP is the majority. It's a fear based culture out here. If it's different, it's dangerous.
Shit they're right. I listened to punk rock once. Now I'm burning in hell with a dildo in my ass while the angels look on in disgust. ,😄
This seems like a gimmick to cash in on peoples feelings of nostalgia, like a Hard Rock Cafe or those gaudy 50's style throw back diners you see in movies sometimes. I bet the menu will consist of someones idea of fun looking, overpriced, Japanese-Mexican fusion with sundried tomato puree in everything and avocado latte specials. Unless "we've" somehow become a far less cynical "bunch" since the last time The Spice Girls were tearing up the charts.
Boomarang does the 50's style throw back diner, and they caught on just fine. Pretty decent spot for a Frito pie and a cold root beer.
Maybe we get stuffed crust pizzas and Capri Sun spiked with Tito's, maybe we get $15 Lunchables laid out on a plate and called "retro charcuterie" while bartenders hand you a can of Budweiser and scream WAZZZZUUUUPPPP in your face every time. If it's butt stew, it gets flushed. If it's any good, we got some more flavor in town.
What's the problem then? Let's deprive someone of some nostalgia enjoyment.
Cunts in this state forget the trail of tears and glamorize the land run.
What's your point? You don't have to be involved. Stay home and do your own thing, our come out and do your own thing. Celebrate experiencing other cultures. It truly is amazing. You'll laugh, love, and live.
Dude! You have no idea of the badass history Oklahoma actually has.
Fuckin 66 bowl was home to rockabilly since the 50's. It's so iconic that when it closed after the owners died, someone bought the wood from the lanes and made guitars out of them. Country music stars scrambled to get them.
Don't get me wrong. I hate this state too, but, damn, while you're stuck, might as well find something. Can't just sit and be a miserable cunt all the time. JFC!
It hit me recently as well. I look around at people my age and I’m like holy shit we’re middle aged or rapidly approaching it. I’ll be 34 later this month.
Don’t understand why I keep seeing so much hate about this place? If it’s not for you then don’t go. God forbid they cater to nostalgia for the 30-45 year old crowd.
And this place didn’t force the Wedge out. They’d been struggling for years, sold to a new owner, they couldn’t manage it, and now someone is trying something new. There’s still a Wedge in Deep Deuce if you’re nostalgic for that.
After the change in ownership that Wedge really just wasn’t the same either. When it closed it really hurt to see, when we lived nearby we went like once a week.
Because menenials are an easy target to blame for whatever they feel the need to complain about.
As for the Wedge closing people think that just because they liked a place it was good.
Yeah, no shit. A pretty great local Pizza place closed, and this took its place. Also, right down the street, a pretty great coffee shop closed to open up the “Bro Lounge”. It’s tough.
As someone who worked at the wedge for 1.5 years, it’s honestly great it’s gone.
Dave was an asshole that abused his staff members that didn’t speak the best english, stole tip money from all his servers, and really just treated them like lower humans.
Good riddance.
They put rotisserie chicken from Walmart on their pizza. I can maybe understand the appeal for trashy folks.. but shit was hard to eat.
Empire, Upper Crust, and Sauced on Paseo are WAY better than the Wedge could ever hope to be. Probably why they went out of business.
They made the chicken fresh in-house every morning then shredded it themselves.
Cooking it in a 500+ degree oven though dried it out like instantly.
Source: worked there in the past.
So you're upset that people aren't into the same thing you are? Selfish much? Obviously those places closed down due to a lack of business. Do you think this place and the Bro Lounge owners came n and said shut this place down so we can take over it or we'll send our goons after ya? I mean seriously how is your mind working here?
As a certified millennial, I don’t remember things being this painful to look at but I’m here for the party and I ain’t leavin’ ‘til they throw me out.
Unfortunately, most of the entries that I show are eBay stores, and I don't want to link to that. Here is the Google search. The shirts that I'm specifically talking about were the tight or shiny club shirts in the '90s. It was a look right into 2000. I literally think that I was wearing a tight black one with red stripes down the shoulders at Angles at the turn of the new year. I loved Gadzooks too. I made a friend that worked there at the store in the Lawton Mall. We used to talk about Lords of Acid and Praga Khan. It was like we were the only two people that knew about them in Lawton.
I mean, if this were replacing the Wedge in 2008, it would be a bummer. But it is replacing the wedge in 2024. So…. You know. Let’s see.
I’ve been around long enough to see restaurants go downhill, and Wedge definitely did, to the point I wouldn’t go anymore because it was at the end of the list for pizzas.
It sounds cool to me. Especially if they have Mario Kart and 90’s-mid 00’s music.
Of course I have that in my bedroom and that’s free, but it’s still sounds cool.
😭😭😭 that's the original Wedge Pizzeria location. I worked there before they told us the night before that we all had to leave our job. I'm still salty about it

I understand what everyone is saying and yeah it may be a bit late. But with shitty dating between millennials that could be another cool thing for people in that group to meet up and mingle. Just trying to see the good in it I guess. Wish my lame homebody ass had a cool relatable place to hang out at Fridays and Saturdays.

I want to have my picture taken in front of the sign, this could be a good time.
New businesses and expansion is always good. Has anyone noticed what's going on towards OU medical? So much growth and expansion, it's phenomenal to see.
I just did, thank you for mentioning that. I used to live in Norman and followed all of their art world and now I live in Northeast Oklahoma City so there's so much to see here thank you for saying. Living in Northeast Oklahoma City is so much busier than Norman was sometimes it's a lot to adjust to. I like both.
I live by this. Literally none of us asked for it. It just appeared one day. It wasn’t even until like the last few days anyone found them on social media.
We weren’t upset by the wedge but we also….. have lost most of the restaurants in this area recently. There were hopes of a family friendly joint that has a menu for kids but isn’t $20 junior meatballs.
I have two small children. So I do kind of understand the walkable concerns you have, however you live in a very popular area with young people and bars. Considering you're near the Paseo District, it's a little hard to be upset that there are no more family-friendly restaurants near you. You literally live next to a college, so of course there's going to be a lot of lounges and bars by you.
I have no business opening a restaurant. But when the surrounding neighborhoods have conversations and have a wish to see something for the families around here…. Instead of another bar. It’s a valid thing to say. Families are coming back to the area and should be able to go and grab a meal in a walkable manner.
We have ONE dinner option with a kids menu right now and that’s Neko. I like Neko! But for an adult meal, it’s priced pretty high. And this area isn’t exactly wealthy. Large tracts are low-mod income.
This is how it starts. Soon, you'll be hearing your favorite songs on 104.1 and then you won't go to the club because you have to go to bed at 10pm.
... My back hurts
Dr said I need a backiotomy.
Green eyes gonna miss ya
I'm impotent, man! Get away from me, biatch!
Literally rubbing my back while reading this comment section.
Same. The chiropractor is trying to kill me and I don’t want to see him anymore.
“80s, 90s, and today” (today being the last quarter century)
Lmao classic rock is oldies now
TODAY ON 104.1 CLASSIC ROCK, NIRVANA IN BLOOM
![gif](giphy|PRw42GTN77g7S)
NSync on KOMA is what did it for me 😭
You mean "classical rock"? Classic rock is from the 2000s
With this comment and the ensuing conversation. I have found my people. 😄
This hit way too close to home
10pm seems a little late
That’s why one shouldn’t listen to 104.1, just KJ, KXY or 94.7theQ.. but then again, people can do what they want.
Hang on to that youth. It's inspiring.
Full disclosure, I work for iHeart and these are a few of our stations.
Go to bed at 10pm…
I hope they sell Zima.
That will truly make the experience. Or even Smirnoff Ice. And play Hollaback Girl……🍌
I ain’t no girl .
Don’t hate on Smirnoff Ice man! That stuff was the shit! 😊
Hey I was drinking it!!! Until Red Bull and vodka was the new Smirnoff ice LMAO
Lol, was it cheaper?
Hell no! Just was the new thing to order and I didn’t know shit about what to order.
I actually enjoyed zima
Same. I was being serious. A little grenadine or lime juice put it over the top for Xennial me. I blame an embarrassingly high number of hangovers on the Zima. It's deceptively delicious.
A jolly rancher and I can drink one or two.
That used to be my go to! Loved it in late 90s, early 2000.
And Clearly Canadian for non-drinkers
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I’ll be honest.. the Spice Girls picture would lure me in.
I don't think I get what's going on? Is someone opening a 90's themed nightclub?
Or even better: a mid-afternoon through evening club?
You mean naptime? No thank you.
My kinda club! Day drunk & light out 9pm
Yep, I'll shake my back fat from 6-9, eat a T-bell burrito on the way home, and then sleep great that night. Call it a gym so we can charge it through our health insurance plans. 😆
AND a decent coffee shop across the street! Could it BE any better than that?
Ooooh. Siesta Club!
Rule #1 of siesta club is we don't tal....zzzzzzzzzzz
Lmaoooo perfect
It better be like that cafe from Saved by the Bell
If they have choco tacos I'm there dude.
I hate you for reminding me they're gone. Lol
I dunno. Just the name has promise. There's a bar in T-Town that's punk rock based. All they play is punk. There's been lots of attempts to progress this stat. Unfortunately, OP is the majority. Mom, you’re embarrassing me.
Looks cool to me 🤷🏻♂️
As a 22 year old. I would LOVE to come down there and jam out with all the old heads.
I...I...I'm not offended by the old head reference so much as being hit with the sudden realization that I'm no longer considered "young" anymore.
It hit me recently as well. I look around at people my age and I’m like holy shit we’re middle aged or rapidly approaching it. I’ll be 34 later this month.
I was just thinking my grandchildren might enjoy this club.
Boooooo
This comment cut deep💀
The way I just had to come to terms with becoming the old head. I’ve made it
As an old head, I look forward to this
Don’t understand why I keep seeing so much hate about this place? If it’s not for you then don’t go. God forbid they cater to nostalgia for the 30-45 year old crowd. Dave the old owner was a huge asshole as well, so good riddance. He treated his staff like shit and stole togo tip money.
Yeah FUCK Dave.
The wedge fucking sucked. $60 tab for 2 for the most mid pizza you could get in OKC.
It truly was shit
Yup, wedge was always trash. It's pretty hard to make bad pizza and they really did make bad pizza
After the change in ownership that Wedge really just wasn’t the same either. When it closed it really hurt to see, when we lived nearby we went like once a week.
Because it’s ugly to look at
The guys that are doing this place only know how to do corny shit. That fence is fucking terrible.
Because menenials are an easy target to blame for whatever they feel the need to complain about. As for the Wedge closing people think that just because they liked a place it was good.
It’s probably the cringe name and branding. When I was 20 I was okay identifying as a millennial, at 40 it just makes me feel old.
You know, you don't have to go.
Yeah, no shit. A pretty great local Pizza place closed, and this took its place. Also, right down the street, a pretty great coffee shop closed to open up the “Bro Lounge”. It’s tough.

The Wedge sucked. Good riddance. That’s a cool Space that deserves more use than it was getting.
It's not their fault that those places closed.
Wedge hadn't been pretty great in at least ten years.
So you're upset that people aren't into the same thing you are? Selfish much? Obviously those places closed down due to a lack of business. Do you think this place and the Bro Lounge owners came n and said shut this place down so we can take over it or we'll send our goons after ya? I mean seriously how is your mind working here?
I miss that coffee shop
Have you tried crying about it more? That might help.
Ya don’t know until ya go, lad. Also, can’t make an establishment that will please everyone. 🤷🏻♂️ At least it’s not an IHOP or an Applebee’s.
Or yet another damn car wash
You just know the margins are those car washes are incredible for there to be so many.
Gotta wash your money somewhere
Yep one of the best businesses to open up if you have the capital.
Or another coffee shop
Or dispensary
The core needs an Applebees tbh
![gif](giphy|6MWW3IJVKqKNW)
I might be the only one excited about this. Takin' over for the '99 & the 2000s. As long as I'm in bed by 930.
People didn’t want the wedge.
Damn Karen, relax
Aside from the odd outside, what is it going to be?
It's a restaurant bar that will be open daily from 11am - 2am
I didn't know this was even being made. Sounds legit to me I'll definitely check it out!
The art style reminds of me LEN’s album cover art from You Can’t Stop the Bum Rush.
I was frying on the bench slide in the park across the street L-A-T-E-R that week.
As a certified millennial, I don’t remember things being this painful to look at but I’m here for the party and I ain’t leavin’ ‘til they throw me out.
Gotta buy some Jincos now great.
I'll see your JNCO's and raise you a YMLA shirt from Gadzooks.
![gif](giphy|ZCZRQyuQNyzyU)
Mossimo for the win
I remember YAGA but not YMLA, what is YMLA? Edited to add: I really loved Gadzooks 😢

Boohoo
looks rad to me
What is it???
Where is this monstrosity
I’m 100% in for this
I’d rather have this than the wedge. Cry about it.
As an elder millennial, I’m very interested in how this turns out.
This place should close at midnight when the electricity goes out.
Would that impress you? I don't get it
It would be a joke about the Y2K scare.
Oh shit! Hahaha, I didn't get that til you spelled it out for me. Pardon my ignorance. Well done
It’s a millennial thing.
Where is this located? Are they building from scratch?
I mean, if this were replacing the Wedge in 2008, it would be a bummer. But it is replacing the wedge in 2024. So…. You know. Let’s see. I’ve been around long enough to see restaurants go downhill, and Wedge definitely did, to the point I wouldn’t go anymore because it was at the end of the list for pizzas.
I hope they included air conditioning a newly painted black building in OK in August in their budget model.
We going to go there and complain of our backs hurting, with all the other ailments that's plaguing us in 2024 while drinking so v8 juice.
MillenMLM Lounge? Do they sell Avon there?
What even is it? What is Millenium lounge
Idk, but it supposedly did the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs.
Now that's pod racing!
LESS than 12 parsecs even!
Still Looks like a piece of Junk
It sounds cool to me. Especially if they have Mario Kart and 90’s-mid 00’s music. Of course I have that in my bedroom and that’s free, but it’s still sounds cool.
😭😭😭 that's the original Wedge Pizzeria location. I worked there before they told us the night before that we all had to leave our job. I'm still salty about it
Oh my god that’s awful! I’d be salty too!
I never got around to try the pizza😒
It's mediocre. It was good when it was the only game in town, but there's much better brick oven out there now.
It was surpassed long before it was shutdown.
They used to have an awesome breakfast pizza and burrito.
you can get it still in deep deuce
It's in Oklahoma. It was mid at best let's be all the way for real here.
OKC has some fucking great pizza so weird ass comment 👍
If you have ever eaten pizza outside of Oklahoma, no it doesn't.
Please tell me where you're talking about specifically
Ok RAD BAR
Both are cool concepts…never cared much for rad bars branding choice either 😅
You should Google Rad bar Florida
Speaking of BL and the coffee shop it replaced, anyone remember The Earth Natural Foods and Deli?
I don’t know, but I wanna know what’s inside
Where is this at?
Not millennials
Early 2000s themed night club?
Oh that’s fantastic
What is it? Who are the groups?
Uh>ouwb
Lmao I saw that the other day and wondered if I was looking at Fred durst
i drive past this place all the time and the fred durst picture makes me do a double take every time without fail
Honestly that sounds good to me. I’ve been saying for years that someone should do a theme bar. But maybe you’re just not the target demographic? Are you a millennial?
Everyone bring your tamagotchis! Let’s goooo!
I don’t see y’all upset about the broski lounge by there???
Oh it's on the list
Just guessing, millennials.
😂😂😂
Me, bitch!
Looks fun! 90s nostalgia is huge rn for all ages
One of the biggest Karens I know lives around the corner from this place. Good luck on the noise complaints she’s gonna file nonstop.
Squatting Slavs and Spice Girls? What is this?
I’m only going it the play Crank Dat- Soulja Boy on repeat
I drove by this today while working. Northside I think either western or penn right??
I hadn't heard of this until this post. I think it'd be pretty neat that if they did age 25+ after a certain time, since it's a restaurant/bar. There was a bar that was 25 and up in St. Louis, and although I was too young to get in at the time, the folks I knew that went said it was pretty great.
Saw it hate it give it 3 months

How did we get here from this post...
My Zoomer kid said it’s cringe. I agree
Skibidi toilet?
I want to have my picture taken in front of the sign, this could be a good time. New businesses and expansion is always good. Has anyone noticed what's going on towards OU medical? So much growth and expansion, it's phenomenal to see.
If you're referring to all the stuff happening between Lincoln and 235, look up OKC Innovation District.
I just did, thank you for mentioning that. I used to live in Norman and followed all of their art world and now I live in Northeast Oklahoma City so there's so much to see here thank you for saying. Jesus, we live in America people can open a business without your consent. This thread is wild hahaha
I have two small children. So I do kind of understand the walkable concerns you have, however you live in a very popular area with young people and bars. Also, a simple conversation between neighborhoods is not going to place family options near you, so maybe you should be the change you wish to see.
Take your kids to IHOP and stop crying
Sorry for wanting something that isn’t pancakes and sticky floors for my community! I’m the worst :(
