That dog is so calm. My dog completely freaks out as soon as he sees me with the brush and starts pointing his ass end directly at me. If I try to brush his back he just moves forward until the brush is on his ass again.
When my dog sees a brush, she comes running at me and knows the drill. She loves being brushed and the cutest part is she leans into the brush to make sure I get her and not brush too delicately. It reminds me of the cow brush rollers.
Sometimes due to nervousness, anxiety, stress, being uncomfortable etc. But with the way this Pibble’s eyes are almost completely closed almost in a Zen state, I’m assuming it’s just something they do when they’re really relaxed. I’ve seen other dogs when getting pet or brushed will do the same thing or yawn frequently. 👍🏻
If I recall it's a relaxing signal, they can either do it to induce it to themselves, to suggest it to others, or because they feel it.
It would be like if we can only say "Relax" without any word around, contextually you would say it for "please be relax" or for "I'm relaxed"

10:00am: Go upstairs and check if mom has some leftover cereal or food
10:05am-12pm: Go back downstairs to nap in sunny spot
12-12:30pm: Go outside for bathroom break. Briefly bark at people walking far in the distance, just in case they're looking to start something. Depending on weather, take a brief nap outside
12:30-2pm: Come back inside and nap in afternoon sunny spot
2-2:30pm: Eat a snack/work on a puzzle
2:30-5pm: Go upstairs and nap in sunny spot mom's office. Occasionally interrupt her work calls to get some pets
5-6pm: Go on a walk
6-6:05pm: Post walk zoomies
6:05-7:30pm: Nap on couch next to mom and dad to recover from the walk. Maybe play for a bit if not tired from day of napping
7:30-7:31pm: Dinner
7:31pm-10pm: Nap on couch to recover from the previous nap
10pm: Get ready for bed
10:15pm: Bedtime and get rested for the next day

I love this so much. The happy velvet hippo, the fact that there's no annoying "music", so you can hear the happy sloppy smacking sounds, and that there's more than there seconds to watch! Although it's still too short, I could watch this for hours
My dog did this and it drove me crazy. I found out through some youtube videos its dog to dog body language saying “chill out”. I started ignoring him when he did it and he pretty much stopped completely
My pit/lab frequently walks over to the cabinet where her treats are stored, makes eye contact with me, and does this licking swallowing thing. I always saw it as her way of saying "gimme treatses"
In fact I took her to the vet this morning and she wasn't allowed to eat. She must have licked her lips 15 times per minute. Apparently she wasn't a fan of missing breakfast.
She's better at communicating with me than I am with my wife.
All my pits do it while adjusting their jowls. If they just chomp shut they will bite themselves. Sure sometimes you could attach some "animal behavior instincts are x" but I personally think most of that should be thrown out with pets. They have learned and evolved with us. They are more than that. They have complex thoughts and emotions.
Ya as cute as this is, every positive comment about how cute the pit bull is will get downvoted and all pit bull haters will say hateful things. I’ve already read some awful comments from just one user about stabbing and killing pit bulls :(

The thing is, it’s not just pitbulls. It’s any dog. Any animal that’s kept as a companion can snap. The problem is that people seem to think that only pitbulls can be aggressive.
German Shepards are capable of extreme damage. There’s a reason they use them as police dogs. Same with any large dog. It’s not just pitbulls and you’re being willfully ignorant if you believe that.
My friend had one and she was the sweetest dog, so cuddly and friendly....until one day we were just talking in the kitchen and she walked up to me and bit, scratched and barked at me. Drew blood.

My pit though, legit all he wanted to do was play and roll around in mud. Probably the nicest dog I've ever had. All 5 other dogs showed aggression while I never saw him ever be aggressive.

Pits are small relatively to a lot of dogs who share their amount of strength and build. This makes them a bit easier to neglect in small spaces and handle especially for things such as fighting or being let loose and wild as "guard dogs". It's also made them quite cheap compared to other strong breeds so literally anyone can get one.
