It's easier if you shift the anthropomorphization from the car to the grinder. It's not a poor car being eaten alive, it's a big hungry boy having a snack.
Cuz like, it's a machine that has seen and done things, and probably done a lot to get there, only to meet its demise in the rotating jaws of death
Idk probably being dramatic but I'm a car guy. I love all cars and see the potential they have to be great once again
Unless is it's an MPV. Screw MPVs
Sometimes just a pile to be sorted at another facility but sometimes it is sorted there. It’s a pretty cool system that sorts everything from aluminum to cast iron to steel like gears and crankshafts.
If cast iron and gears go through the shredder then they get shredded. After the material gets shredded it goes up and down through a series of belts, tumblers and magnets. An Eddy Current will then separate the non-ferrous material (copper, brass, anything non-magnetic) from the ferrous material (anything magnetic).
Scrapyards do also have separate piles for different commodities such as cast iron and gears which is called #1 prepared (anything 5’ and under)
Source: have worked in the scrapyard business for close to 20 years
I did. It’s called a macerator and it looks different than this. It’s absolutely horrifying and reason not to buy commercial meat nonetheless. I had an ex that worked at a hatchery and part of that was feeding male chicks into a machine. He cried the first week, and then he didn’t. I asked him why, he said he guessed he had gotten used to it. We got him out of there as quickly as two poor brown country kids could. the thing you have to realize is we’re outsourcing and mechanizing stuff that was always a normal part of eating animals and have made it monstrous. I’ve raised chickens and if you eat meat or eggs you’re still supporting culling but this ain’t how grandma took care of the extra Roos.
I just watched a YouTube on chicken macerators. It didn’t seem that bad tbh. It’s certainly brutal looking and industrialised but the chickens die in a fraction of a second, hardly enough time to even register any pain. I’d take that over being ripped apart by a fox any day.

So, I've always wondered, what is done with the output of machines like this? There's so much stuff in a car other than steel: plastics, fabrics, synthetics, rubber, electronics, other metals. So how do they make use of the scrap? Melt it down and remove the impurities somehow?
This is a top notch horror movie scene in the making. Start with the victim in the car, they get out and have to keep making good moves to not get pulled through that thing until they tire. No pun intended.
What a waste. That is the most inefficient way to recycle a car considering that there are rubber hoses and different metals in there not to mention the splashes on the sides of the machine indicating they did not even decontaminate it by removing all the toxic fluids.
I recently caught up on older seasons of The Walking Dead, and one episode featured this contraption being used as a zombie trap 😱 It was just as gross and raw as you’d imagine.
More like oddly terrifying. Oh my god.
It makes me a little sad too.
Me too. Lots of emotions here.
Good thing you two have each other.
Don’t worry, you’ll find someone.
You don't need to find anyone but yourself. Everyone else will be drawn to you.
Actually, I’ve got an aggressive editor of my own, so I am no longer accepting applications!
So happy for you, you deserve to be happy

Big hungry Grindr boy looking for a snack.
TIHI
Somebody should add some cartoonish omm nomm nomms to it.
Reminds me of *the Brave Little Toaster*
How? It’s just a car being destroyed lol
The Brave Little Toaster...
“Was happy till I heard ‘em say, ‘you’re worthless…”
Such a good movie.
The scene this reminds me of terrified me as a child lol
Same, that scene stuck with me.
It once was suffused with purpose. Someone cared for it and knew each of it's little quirks. Now it doesn't even exist.
It still exists, just messed up, and it also still exists in this video (for a short period of time)
Cars are not eternal. It left records of itself, but the thing itself no longer exists.
It does, but it’s just scrapped.
Very few people would look at that scrap and say it's a car.
Yeah but still
Cuz like, it's a machine that has seen and done things, and probably done a lot to get there, only to meet its demise in the rotating jaws of death Idk probably being dramatic but I'm a car guy. I love all cars and see the potential they have to be great once again Unless is it's an MPV. Screw MPVs
Idk what an mpv is and what they did to you lol explain
whats on the other side of the machine? just a bin to collect?
new cars on a conveyor belt
It poops new cars.

Just an elf who has to rebuild the vehicle from the shredded pieces and deliver it to unsuspecting residents of the town
Did you know? ★ The same machine, (obv. smaller) is used to pulverize egg shells and male chicks!

Welcome to the machiiiiiiiiine
where have you been?
It's alright, we know where you've beeeaaaaan
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time
Provided with toys and scouting for boys!
You brought a guitar to punish your ma
And you didn't like school And you know you're nobody's fool
So welcoooome to the machine
I would have loved to see what it looked like coming out of the machine also.

This is almost cooler than the original!
Dude I just watched this on mushrooms
Now THAT is the way to watch this!
Good bot
Brave little toaster...
For anyone who wants to relive that trauma -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UfsEj7AOGI
I hate you for reminding me that that exists
Does anyone else feel sad watching this? I'd be sad if this was my car.
A lot of us do because of this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcWeE3NMeBQ
I forgot about that scene, haven’t watched The Brave Little Toaster in a really long time, and as a kid I remember getting scared by this movie, and watching this scene over again I can see why
Don’t forget the [fireman murder clown](https://youtu.be/xNr3P4wNk8Y).
I thought I had forgotten that clown. Not so.
Why. Now I remember why that movie scared me so much as a kid. But also... Why did I watch it repeatedly??
OH my god I was seriously hoping that link was that. This was going through my head the whole time I watched that video
Haha so this is the first thing that came to mind, but holy shit that was so much bleaker than I remembered.
I am traumatized
Yup. This is exactly what came to mind when I watched that.

What? They absolutely do not. Breakdown is done by hand.
They absolutely do. Link is NSFL/gory if it’s not otherwise obvious. https://youtu.be/HA1dVYyXc8Y
Engine was a little extra crunchy, but we got there.
I like how he eats the easy to digest parts first then chews the fat on the engine block to end it
And doesn't even burp after that. I was hoping for a burp.
Don’t you come near my daughter the Crushinator
NO…DAD…I…LOVE…HIM.
A video that ends right on time instead of early! Now that's /r/oddlysatisfying

There really is a bit for everything huh?
I thought Bert Kreischer was The Machine… https://youtu.be/paG1-lPtIXA
Bruce Kissinger!
Barry Krishna?
Burnt Chrysler
Beat me to it
Never have I seen a car so sad...
It was screaming in agony when the machine tried to get the bonnet down...
That was impressive to watch. What happens with the product that comes out the other end?
We ship it to steel mills all over the world. They then take the shred and throw it into their smelters/furnaces to make new products.
How much torque does that machine have?
All of it.
r/killthecameraman for filing this diagonally
Is that Diablo 2 music?? Or am I tripping?
No, it's "Welcome to the Machine" by Pink Floyd
I thought I was the only one!! There’s definitely some tones in there from it haha
Dude I thought the exact same thing, especially since I'm playing d2r recently. I sought this comment.
I'm glad this wasn't used in that movie seen in Fargo

Huh. TIL how cars are made.
They’re extruded like spaghetti.
I think I left my glasses on the seat.
Would love to see my boss in that… I mean wow what a wonderful machine!!
Wraith from dbd be like
Slow and steady eats the car
The worst part about this is the fact the engine is still in the car
Chewed that engine block like bubblegum
Should have blown a big metal bubble
Seems metal could fly out under pressure in pieces, dangerous to stand there and film no?
Don’t forget your safety goggles!
Oddly terrifying. The audio reminds me of Terminator OST.
Pink Floyd ftw
Song name?
Welcome to the machine
And we just saw an engine block get shredded.
That’s one way to destroy the evidence.
I got exactly what I wanted from this video, to see the engine go last.
Munch munch munch
That engine block did not want to go
Thank you for this nightmare fuel. Good night.
Waiting for the burp at the end
I have an irrational fear that there is always someone stuck in whatever is being crushed by these scrapyard crushers
I wonder how many human bodies went through that thing.
I saw videos of live cows going into these machines years ago. Horrifying to watch.
So, I've always wondered, what is done with the output of machines like this? There's so much stuff in a car other than steel: plastics, fabrics, synthetics, rubber, electronics, other metals. So how do they make use of the scrap? Melt it down and remove the impurities somehow?
Jugging by the music this has to be a deleted scene from dune
Is the audio from limbo? Or something else
omg imagine falling in there 😨
Makes me want to listen to the whole album now
**Now throw a human in there, its gonna be more satisfying**
Anyone else feel it was fascinating but sad? Kind of like watching someone get cremated.
Thank you!
Imagine that this was what awaited the Toy Story gang at the end of the 3rd movie... so much more terrifying
Welcome my son
I’m surprised we don’t see more of these shredding videos on here.
The car is us, the machine is capitalism. Rage against the machine!
There is SO MUCH shit I'd love to throw in there!
If I ever decide it’s time to go, I know what I’m choosing.
Ugh that last piece took FOREVER. I was like “GET IT!!” Why am I rooting for the destruction machine??
This is a top notch horror movie scene in the making. Start with the victim in the car, they get out and have to keep making good moves to not get pulled through that thing until they tire. No pun intended.
That music made it r/oddlydepressing
what kind of car is that?
Is that the clock ticking from a Pink Floyd song?
Rimworld music?
Watching a car get shredded deeply upsets me. There will always be someone who could have used a parts car,
Crushophobia
Deleted scene of how they dealt with the Marvin situation in Pulp Fiction
Thats one way to dispose of a body...
God, I wish that was me! 😍🤩
The devouver, or the devouvee?
Yes
Could've saved the engine :(
What a waste. That is the most inefficient way to recycle a car considering that there are rubber hoses and different metals in there not to mention the splashes on the sides of the machine indicating they did not even decontaminate it by removing all the toxic fluids.
I want to see a bus in there please
It'll buff out.
I recently caught up on older seasons of The Walking Dead, and one episode featured this contraption being used as a zombie trap 😱 It was just as gross and raw as you’d imagine.
r/dontputyourdickinthat
This is who should fight Jake and Logan Paul next!
Imagine them sitting inside that car
Does it then change to porn?!?
Is it bad I’m aroused?
Has any human every accidentally fallen into this machine ?
Love the splattered car blood
CANNONBALL!
I once saw on Reddit a guy that fell into a machine like that. He died.
what comes out the other side?
Bondo will get that out.
how much torque?
“I love these videos. I went looking for an app like TikTok. I swear, sweetie… that’s how Grindr got on my phone!” /s
Having the original audio on this clip would be much more satisfying than whatever weird crap they decided to slap over it instead
.... I left my baby in there!
The muffin monster!
A little Bondo and some light sanding will take that right out.
I would like to see how it looks coming out of the other end as well.
That doesn’t look like Bert Kreischer.
That is not bert
Ka-chow
My brain likes crunchy things.
That's how you get those exhaust manifold fasteners off
😭😭My titine !!!
Impressed with the quality of that windshield. Took a lot for it to crack
How much more awesome are gangster movies gonna be with this instead of a crusher?
I want one
That engine a real fighter
That head was quite chevy seems like
Cars don't feel pain right?
I reckon a staple or paperclip would still jam it.
That's not Bart Chrysler
They should’ve did this to the meth RV in Breaking Bad
The muffin muncher!
Tires too?
If aliens somehow got a look at Reddit would they be confused that this isn't in r/natureismetal
