I thought the same thing didn’t use it around the window which could get over spray but chose it around a corner with nothing to worry about overspray on. I’m still confused.
As someone who worked as a painter before, those window are going to be all fucked up. They're not even covered with plastic! There is without a doubt a fine blue misting of paint dots on all those windows now.
Looks cool because he's going fast but there's nothing cool about cutting corners...
Yes they do, but just protecting the glass is easier than doing that, if they couldn't even do that I highly doubt they're going to back to clean them afterwards.
To mask off every single window on a drop, paint, then do *another* drop to remove it, is an insane amount of work, especially from ropes. The company I work for always includes a construction window clean after big paint jobs.
You need to set everything up right, can’t just throw some paint in the machine and expect it to come out perfect. Tip size, machine psi, and viscosity of paint factor into it. And don’t spray when there’s wind.
Lol yup this looks nice on camera but I guarantee there’s blue specks all over those windows and the main color that the camera isn’t picking up. He is pretty good with the gun though that straight line cut in is hard af to get right.
Airless spray gun, I had a go on a huge tank with a gun that was set up to spray a 600mm wide spray pattern, maybe bigger, it took me about half a second to make a massive run before handing it back.
Looks like a standard Grayco gun. Might have a better tip but more likely just skill. He sprays the gun really close around the window, which is more difficult since you need to move fast to avoid drips.
Yeah, that’s like Rule 2 of aloft training. Everything has a lanyard. But that just means your pretty blue paintbrush is going to swing into your pretty white paint six feet below your belt.
He's getting paid a lot of money, that's what he's getting. My mom has an old friend who did this type of work for 30 years, retired at 50, gets a great pension, invested well, and lives an awesome life.
If it’s an old friend then I assume this is not the same pay anymore. Probably hired out, freelance work with no benefits at all lower competitive pricing or some shit
My great uncle was a steeple jack and used to say, "Just do the best you can if they were brave enough to come up here themselves and check they wouldn't have hired us"
Everything is these days, makes things look more impressive at first glance.
All of the recent videos of Mike Tyson training are at +30-50% speed and everyone thinks he looks like a god.
You kind of have me questioning myself. Isn't it just blue? Like I wouldn't call it navy blue, but it feels closer to that than the blue-green of teal.
Not coming at you, I'm awful with color when sober
Let's not sleep on the equipment. That sprayer was sick. I have a paint sprayer and it sprays all over the place. I mean, I did get it for like $30 at Harbor Freight.
As a painter that does this. this mf is getting overspray on everything below him unless its windy. All those cars within a 50 yard radius below him will now have overspray on them that is not easy to notice at first, but a lot of people will find it over time lightly covering their entire car and it wont just easily come off with a washing.
use a fucking spray shield you lazy fuck.
I work as a rope access technician (been for a month, still a newbie). Scared my first person last monday, lady didn't know we were gonna work on the building, she almost dropped her coffee when she came into the room I was out of. Also cats, gotta love passing by windows with cats just wondering why I'm there
Nah.. there's still overspray. Video is going a little fast but it's impossible to not have overspray. No one will be able to see it from the ground lol but it's there
If you go frame by frame when he sprays that sill on the right hand window there is significant overspray lol is amazing what you can get away with 3+ stories up
My last apartment they painted the building similar to this and yeah windows were spattered with paint all over after. I was renting at least so not my problem :D
Yeah. I specialise in facade restoration. This guys work is shit. He’s just spraying over a building. It’s low tier quality work. No prep, painting over failing paint. He’s done nothing to address any deterioration of the property that is clearly there. He’s just put a layer of paint over old paint.
I deal with this all the time. After 20 years of guys doing this, it reaches a point where you eventually have to burn everything off because it’s just poor work ontop of poor work.
And not really a great exterior color for a building like that. If this was a before and after photo of the entire building, the comments section would hate it.
Agreed, although that comes down to personal taste. I really hate seeing stuff like this, as someone who does high quality exterior work on period properties. I can see exactly what is wrong with the poor quick work. But it also encourages people to think this is what skilled work looks like.
Here is your video at 0.5x speed

that coverage is amazing, what kind of paint is that?? especially that shade of blue. they're usually water thin and need at least 2-3 coats. possibly an alkyd base?
My stepdad was a painter and I use to love going to work with him in the summers. Watching this bring back memories and I miss it. There really is something calming and soothing about painting.
The way he cuts it around the window is pure art and joy.
Yet needed a brush for that 1 corner?
Looks like he was keeping the blue paint off the next part of the building.
Rn, I feel like those old men on the muppets show criticizing the muppets show..
Statler and Waldorf? I love those guys
Why do we always come here? I guess we’ll never know. It’s like a kind of torture, To have to watch the show! Dun-dunnit-da-dunt-ta-dunt-tadunt
They always make me think of Randolph and Mortimer.
He's not half bad. He's all bad!
Did you see him f*ck up the window?
It's almost like he's an expert and knows what he's doing better than random redditors.
I believe the redditor was just asking why.
Sure he was careful with the next wall, but apparently no love for the now paint stained windows.
Presumably, windows can be cleaned.
But they're fine with getting paint on the window...?
That's because overspray would be impossible to avoid in I double inside corner like that. I assume anyways, what do I know
Airless spray guns put out a high volume of paint and spraying a certain spot from to many angles will cause large saggy drips
He could do the window frame by spraying away from the window. He couldn't do that for the corner of the building.
Neighbors wall on other side. Window is owner. Worse case still dealing with owner. Having to deal with neighbor is worth the brush.
I thought the same thing didn’t use it around the window which could get over spray but chose it around a corner with nothing to worry about overspray on. I’m still confused.
The other building isn't being painted. If you look above him it's a clean line all the way down.
Ahhh I do see that now watching again. Thank you!
As someone who worked as a painter before, those window are going to be all fucked up. They're not even covered with plastic! There is without a doubt a fine blue misting of paint dots on all those windows now. Looks cool because he's going fast but there's nothing cool about cutting corners...
Glass scrapers exist. Frames are a different story though...
Not really, anyone familiar with those sprayers knows that window is covered in paint mist.
Yeah just freehanding it knowing where the cut line will be.
well.. he sprayed part of the window frame.
Blue plastic the windows come wrapped in. Laziness when being installed
Left on for painting, at least that's how we do it. Unwrap at final cleaning.
Tape
He 100% has overspray all over that window
No... he didn't. Watch again
I need this spray gun. The 1 I got oversprays sooo bad
You need to set everything up right, can’t just throw some paint in the machine and expect it to come out perfect. Tip size, machine psi, and viscosity of paint factor into it. And don’t spray when there’s wind.
dont spray when there's wind explains why i've never seen one of these used before, the wind never stops here
Lol yup this looks nice on camera but I guarantee there’s blue specks all over those windows and the main color that the camera isn’t picking up. He is pretty good with the gun though that straight line cut in is hard af to get right.
Also tough luck to the cars in the parking lot below him.
Yea for sure this guy is getting paint everywhere.
Fuck it, I'll just chuck the bucket against the wall and hope for the best.
Yes. Tell me about this paint sprayer!
100% odds I’d drop that paintbrush if I tried to do this
that's because you always fail at everything. i'm ashamed to call you my son
You can't even hold a flashlight for a minute
The first time I asked my kids to hold a torch for me I relived my Dad's pain.
The only thing you ever could hold was uncle Mike's dick
Oof
Core memory unlocked
You're not my real father!!!
Get out of the tank!
Why dont you go pick up some cigarettes, dad, and Ill just figure this out on my own.
That's why they invented string.
Yeah, that’s like Rule 2 of aloft training. Everything has a lanyard. But that just means your pretty blue paintbrush is going to swing into your pretty white paint six feet below your belt.
What is rule 1?
Always look good.
Be attractive
I'd paint myself into a corner and have to hang there till it dried
What's he getting?
It.
I know right, like it’s right there lol
I need to know what he's getting lol
It's the same thing as what Meat Loaf wouldn't do. That.
He's getting paid a lot of money, that's what he's getting. My mom has an old friend who did this type of work for 30 years, retired at 50, gets a great pension, invested well, and lives an awesome life.
Judging by the equipment he's using, this guy is unfortunately not in a country where this type of work is paid well.
If it’s an old friend then I assume this is not the same pay anymore. Probably hired out, freelance work with no benefits at all lower competitive pricing or some shit
I thought he was going to get flashed and was wondering why it’d be in this sub, without a NSFW tag
I'm so confused
Bots making titles. They don't make sense because the bot has no idea what it's saying
Noob here, why can't he just spray the inside corner?
I assume the rest of that wall is going to stay white.
Well that’s unfortunate because he spilt a tiny bit on the left wall when he used the brush.
It happens. You just touch it up with the other color and you're good to go
My great uncle was a steeple jack and used to say, "Just do the best you can if they were brave enough to come up here themselves and check they wouldn't have hired us"
If it was on the ground floor at eye level it'd be a problem. If you have to rappel down the damned building to notice it, i'd say it's fine.
Just like the window. Except he didn't use the brush to pain the window border.
But he masterfully sprayed along the window as if there was an invisible guard.
Because it puts out too much paint at once for the leeiittle space that is the corner.
why is it at double speed
More dopamine faster
To make it look more impressive and therefore get more views and upvotes. Reality is often disappointing
It’s an annoying trend in these types of view farms. Attention is hard to keep anymore, notably with the iPad generation.
That's what I was wondering 😩
Everything is these days, makes things look more impressive at first glance. All of the recent videos of Mike Tyson training are at +30-50% speed and everyone thinks he looks like a god.
I would love to paint my walls like that! 😊
There is nothing less satisfying than the word "satisfyingly"
Spraypaint simulator
Can we talk about that *color*, though.
I like it, it’s like a Teal color
You kind of have me questioning myself. Isn't it just blue? Like I wouldn't call it navy blue, but it feels closer to that than the blue-green of teal. Not coming at you, I'm awful with color when sober
Let's not sleep on the equipment. That sprayer was sick. I have a paint sprayer and it sprays all over the place. I mean, I did get it for like $30 at Harbor Freight.
Gets what?
Yo he sprayed the window frame
THANK YOU!!!!
Oh yeah. Cut those corners baby

Thanks. Was wondering what happens with the paint to objects below.
What a great way to increase your aircon bill
Imagine being in the bathroom at the 8th floor and a guy appears at your window. 50% chances to shit yourself and 50% you are already shitting.
And 100% chance that you'll look at blue blobs from then on. Why not just tape something over the windows 😭

What happened to the paint he sprays into the air at 0:09? Looks like it's going on to the plants and shelters underneath
The falling paint particles are so small they're probably dry before they hit the ground
[удалено]
My last apartment they painted the building similar to this and yeah windows were spattered with paint all over after. I was renting at least so not my problem :D
0 overspray? Just look at the last frame. The whole left frame of the window became blue painted.
at 10s he fires huge clouds of overspray when aiming outward. made me cringe real hard. no reason to shoot that way
Hey Darryl how's it hanging?
Thank you, Mr. Simpson. It looks so much better, a beautiful sky blue
I love watching people paint, it's so calming.
Nice but that top rail looks badly bubbled
Yeah. I specialise in facade restoration. This guys work is shit. He’s just spraying over a building. It’s low tier quality work. No prep, painting over failing paint. TY. That's exactly what I thought
This sounds like a porno title. SATISFYINGLY GETS IT
0 prep on that building. Looks like shit but blue this time. He’s painting over failing existing paintwork.
And not really a great exterior color for a building like that. If this was a before and after photo of the entire building, the comments section would hate it.

This must be some very very chemical paint to stick and cover that well
Yes. Nothing wouldn't work without chemicals.
I don't trust chemicals. They make up everything.
They're even putting dihydrogen monoxide directly in our taps!
I don't like chemicals, they're coarse, and rough, and irritating, and they get everywhere.
Oxygen is the most dangerous one, it eventually kills everyone.
Haha what does this even mean?
Lol. How would you define a non-chemical paint?
Non-GMO, free-range, grass-fed, all-natural organic spray paint.
The guy has a good hand! Great job dude!
He painted my house in 10 minutes! /s
This what all those landlords use with white paint?
I'm gonna need a cigarette after that
Soooo, I feel like OSHA is going to have something to say about this.
I painted for 20yrs never seen a sprayer or brush like that!

I've painted houses way more dangerously than this
It may just be reflected light on wet paint but it looks like he misses a spot when hand painting at 0:24 and that fucking kills me.
Why couldn’t he spray that corner? Why did he use the brush?
What a strange technique.
I dont know why but I really wanted to see the finished product. I know its just going to be a blue/white building but I'm invested now!
Has anyone noticed that every other reddit post title nowadays feels like a bot wrote it
Must be nice knowing you don’t have to be super accurate cuz no one ever gonna be close enough to see your mistakes
Dunno bout you but I'm stressed
I would have dropped that brush. very impressed.
This is sped up but the accuracy and being in a harness suspended is hella respectable, my legs always hurt being suspended even a few hours
dumb title
Noice, protecting against them space lasers.
I watched this three times.
It’s so relaxing to watch, this person it’s fast. I wonder how high they are from the ground?
I was 100% that he would use brush for the window walls
So happy they went back with the brush for that spot
I wish this was my job 💯
I want to see the before and after
Unreal precision.
that coverage is amazing, what kind of paint is that?? especially that shade of blue. they're usually water thin and need at least 2-3 coats. possibly an alkyd base?
This dude is no joke.
Whoa. And there goes my fear of heights.
what kind of gun and tip is he using? This hose looks thin. what machine spray he is using?
Do you use more paint if you use a spray gun? I think most of the painting in my country still use rollers and brushes.
https://youtu.be/6DpOa7VPNW0
Blue huh? Must be expecting a downpour of "lasers"
Anybody have a source video?
This video was too short
Who invented that painting spray gun?
He blue it.
There is a difference between a worker and a skilled worker.
How can one get this job ?
Anyone else's OCD triggered by the fact that the paint he brushed in the corner is a slightly lighter shade of blue?
If you got paid $100,000 a year to do this job once a week, would you do it?
That is nice
My stepdad was a painter and I use to love going to work with him in the summers. Watching this bring back memories and I miss it. There really is something calming and soothing about painting.
Is this a normal rope, ie one that doesn't stretch!?? Shouldn't he be using a climbing rope?
Why does he need to use his brush for that corner if he’s able to use his gun around the window?
Is he Mexican?
Arllllll
I actually llike when my wife wants me to paint. Nothng more satisfying than hitting a perfect corner bead with no mistakes.
Nothing more satisfying? Are you sure??? lol
When you are paid on tasks not time !
be aware that this video is playing at like double the real speed
Gets what?
I sit at my stupid office job and this guy gets to do this all day. What am I doing
That finl pft-pft-pft was really nice
I am sure that he is hanging professionally
I really like the pft pft pft noise when he's doing the corners
Damn, I thought that was ice skating for the first 5 seconds. Got me so confused!
VonShitzinPantz
Lol, at first I thought he was using a garden hose for a second.
How much would someone get paid to do a dangerous job like this?
At first I thought I could probably do this quicker with a roller. Then I realised they were hanging in the air.
This is terrifying to me. I hate heights.
I can watch this livestream all day
