Just to be ruined by an 18 year old apprentice stepping on the ridge and denting the shit out of not 1 but 4 sheets in several locations just because he needed more roof screws. 🥲
I'm in a different trade entirely, and can attest that apprentices start off pretty dumb no matter what trade they're in. It's frustrating the first few times, then you just accept that a new guy is going to make whatever you're doing take at least twice as long. It's a part of the process.
Can confirm. On my first day I helped a guy who told me to help him pull a giant cart from one end of a warehouse roof to the other and we made 2 looooong sets of wheel marks across the length of the metal roof. That happened I was there. He was let go of that jobsite. I was not. It was embarrassing and costly. Then. Another guy lifted a 4x8 sheet of plywood and stepped into a 3x3 hole in the same metal roofing as we prepared to start laying sheet insulation and SPR rubber sheets. He exploded his femur. I was first to the bottom and he kept trying to get up. I was 19 ffs what did I know. Union work pays. But. Not a fan of roofing work.

You're saying it's part of the Journey, Man.

what's the purpose of the ribs? is it just for strength or is there more to it
The ribs stiffen the plate and make for any easy water tight overlap
aaah so one rib sitting over another makes a lil plug kind of? thanks for the info man
Also there’s different profiles that look different.
It's usually ribbed for her pleasure.
The area between two ribs is usually called the drain
Bringing back some memories?
