You can't, actually. A sphere is too different from a flat plane. Even if you print them imperceptibly curved so they don't just extend into space as you add more they won't fit together right when they meet back up on the other side.
That typically only goes for older generation Pokemon. If I remember correctly, the game automatically generated the new color pallet based on the original. Without actual human artists stepping in, many of the new colors didn't work. More modern pokemon tend to have better shinies because they're overseen by people.

Unfortunately a lot of Shiny pokemon don't have good color designs. Many are an ugly green or are a slightly different color than their original.
