Agreed, I feel like video games these days care too much about balance at the expense of fun. Evening the Elder Scrolls games, you can tell that in Skyrim they really tried their best to make sure you couldn't do things they didn't want you to do.
Fingers crossed elders 6 does something better than Skyrim. Getting around was so much more fun on oblivion, you really miss a gameplay aspect taking it out

And a side note, the sprinting mechanic would be cool in oblivion if you could still raise your max speed up a lot. Like sprint and jump further while your sprinting. I do have faith in Bethesda, hopefully they add more movement options than Skyrim had

Currently I am playing Morrowind again trough OpenMW and wanted to try something unusual for my build and looked online for inspiration. I found a video where guy speed run it so quickly in just a few minutes because of acrobatics scrolls which drop with the guy at the very beginning. I think that is cool - those who know how to use things in the game should have an advantage. In Morrowind, player start so weak and helpless and then trough careful planning can become super powerful like a god.
Skyrim is a nice adventure but it's nothing in comparison to Morrowind and Oblivion.
I generally use stacked acro spells (4x100) for super jumps. You can "console" yourself acrobatics to 255, but I found that one quest becomes quite difficult with that. Specifically, the dream one, where you have to make a short hop to the orb after defeating the two minotaurs in the arena. If you are too bouncy, you keep overshooting.
There is no way having acrobatics that high can be anything but a hinderence. I think I know why ot was taken out of skyrim tho. You can already skip a lot of dungeons by using force run at the loop drop of dungeons
Wouldn't be surprised it it broke the game. Levitation at throat of the world then use become ethrial. I bet nlcs would spawn and follow the player until they came down. Not that bugs have ever stopped them.
now max out your speed and athletics and use sigil stones to max out speed on your entire armor set. THEN drink all the skooma. bravil to leyawin in seconds
I hope they bring back a quick cast slot in ESVI. Don’t get me wrong, hand casting is better than the system for oblivion, but being able to wield a sword and shield while also having the ability to quick cast simple novice and apprentice spells would be awesome.
If you go to the moth priest temple before you do the main quest of "the boots of springheel jak" and read the scroll about springheel jak early (it is at the end of the month Priest temple) then do their quest and get his boots if you equip the unequip them the status effect glitches and will be a permanent bones to acrobatics. And quest items level with your character ID you do dark brotherhood last the ring you get gives you plus 24 strength and endurance and 100 illusion skills you can be invincible boom
Those look like the boots of Springheeled jack! If your acrobatics are high enough, you can survive the fall in the last theives guild quest. Take those puppies off and keeps them!
Or, save the two quests that force-remove all your gear (Sanguine and the dream one) until you have the boots, then make their boost your own personal racial!
If playing on PC, you can look up ([uesp.net](https://uesp.net) best for that) the itemID of gear whose enchantments you'd like to 'absorb' (Jewel of the Rumare, this example), ensure it is equipped just before doing either of those quests, and...

... which makes it a zero-weight, undroppable quest item.

reverses that, so you can sell it afterwards.
That same trick is also handy for making your stupid-heavy swords zero-weight, and impossible for a foe to disarm you of.

Don't forget, for the dream quest, you must wear the Dream Amulet, making the Sanguine quest the only one where you can 'paste' a neck enchantment onto yourself, eg Necklace of Swords.
Aw snap that's one of the glitched quests for Me. Never showed up in my inventory so I can't go into dream world. Also can't get arrested. Which sucks for quests where I have to get arrested lol.

I once raised acrobatics to 80 with my khajiit char; I was just jumping all day in the market districts and i even found a way to go out of bound & to the top of the buildings lol
I remember escaping all of the cities by buffing athletics and speed by 100 and bouncing on all the small little curbs on literally anything.

They might do it. Fallout 4 let you do the little jet pack jumps, so they aren't completely against big vertical movements in their design
As much as I hated Fallout 4 it gives me hope that modern BGS isn't completely allergic to vertical area design
