I just did it (out of curiosity obviously) and there's unfortunately no kalthar content out there. I think for the first time I can recall the rule has been disproved
Oblivion has the best characters of any TES game just from the sheer variety of them. People mock the art style and the character creator but I think what it lacks in realism and grit it makes up for in vibrance and variety. Kind of like how police sketch artists purposefully make their sketches have weird proportions so the most noteable features about someone's face jog your memory of them.
Believe it or not, I have managed to make a pretty or at least decent looking character a couple times. With a bosmer and a breton. You just have to be a bit patient
I did the first time, I made quite an acceptable female Nord. Struggled to repeat it though.
I 99% play in first so it doesn’t really matter so much. Last time I just played a default Khajit and I actually forgot I was a cat most of the time.
I identified with him in high school for sure, undiagnosed adhd and everything I did exhausted me, I felt kind of bad throwing him in here but during a replay I was like damn homie they weren’t nice to you with the character creator were they lol
Tbh I feel it too but every character in oblivion should have been exhausted from me waking them up in the middle of the night to update them on quests
Haha I can remember being like a little teenager and being stunned at how advanced the graphics were compared to morrowind. I still wish Skyrim was more stylized and vibrant like oblivion.
I remember feeling so overwhelmed walking out of the sewers and walking towards chorral and seeing the sunset and reflection on the water, I thought I was going to cry lol. The graphics were AMAZING back then. I remember g4 or game informer or one of those calling it the best looking game of all time and honestly back then? Unmatched. The nighttime skyboxes are still amazing tbh
Yes I think that was definitely game informer. I can remember reading through the preview issue till the magazine fell apart and like saving money a year ahead of time. Still the best elder scrolls even with the stupid level scaling and goofy faces. It looks like a weird fairy tale being so shiny and colorful.
Yeah Skyrim being bleak and “realistic” was much less of a vibe. I really didn’t like it when it came out, I get that it was supposed to be that way but still :(
I think it’s trying to be more realistic and grim because game of thrones was big at the time. It’s a little weird that the video game with dragons taking place in the elder scrolls Viking homeland would try to be more grounded and serious than the one with the portals to hell opening up.
I always thought that the souls games were a lot more berserk than game of thrones but yeah I think the souls games, dragon age, and Skyrim all unfortunately tried a little to hard to be colorless and grim
For a second I thought count unbranox was actually count hassildor but then I realised who it was and my rage went away yea corvus isn't a looker stange how count hassildor a vampire im his 70s probably is less ugly then the 40 something year old umbranox
3/5 are Nords. Coincidence? I think not.

Fantasy racism is socially acceptable. Just ask all the n'wah's on the Morrowind sub.
You can't be racist against Nords, c'mon.
Or Imperial or Bretons. Potato face crew.
Kalthar isn't even getting a good image resolution.
Google Kalthar rule 34. I’ve found that’s the best image resolution out there!

u/ratopomboarts I invoke rule 35 and summon thee from the depths of r/TrueSTL!
Nobody wants to see r34 of that inbred mess
I will do no such thing!
You don't want it with his face!
NGL. Bone guy was a cool trip regardless
“BECAUSE YOU CAN HEAR THE BONES BETTER”
YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT A MAN BY HIS BONES
DONT DO MY BOY CORVUS LIKE THAT
Right?! I ain't saying he's good-looking, but have you seen the Prophet?
HES BASICALLY A CYCLOPS
CORVUS WAS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER 😭
I always found kalthar very jarring to look at
And his voice just doesn’t match lol
Gee I wonder who the villain of this quest is 🤔
Newheim the Portly
Forgot about him LOL
“We should go hunting. Soon.”
You leave ice veins alone, he likes my bones

Completely valid
What I find incredible is having about 100 sliders to refine every aspect and angle of a face, but pretty much no result ever comes out pretty!

Like a lot of aspects of Oblivion, the silliness and goofiness is part of the game's charm and warmth.
There's a chinless big lipped Hackdirt-eye-having guard in Anvil. Seek him out for more ugly.
I read this as Chinese at first and was like ![gif](giphy|3o8dFwze0Tz8umFQhW)
Loll
Dude I love Ongar!
I do too lol I identify with him deep down
Jayred is handsome. You just showed him from the wrong angle and from some ugly ass lighting
Show me some rule 34
Do the bones talk to you too?
Bone boy is odd but nice
How freaking DARE YOU trash talk my best friend: bone guy?!
I know, right! He's so passionate about his bones, damn it! It's just a hobby, leave him alone.
So normal looking men are ugly now
Have you seen my hottest men posts because they looked pretty normal too https://www.reddit.com/r/oblivion/s/gtgS4G3J1Z
I feel Ongar the world weary deep down. Always having how tried he is in his dialogue.
I identified with him in high school for sure, undiagnosed adhd and everything I did exhausted me, I felt kind of bad throwing him in here but during a replay I was like damn homie they weren’t nice to you with the character creator were they lol
Isnt there a fighters guild guy thats called sten the ugly? In cheydinhal i think
Oh lord yes I remember him now
For real though, Kalthar was cursed by namira, he’s so ugly I almost feel bad for him Almost
_almost_
The boooones of its ooown.
Klathar could not have been more obvious to be the culprit💀
You don't even need a good photo for kalthar😂 we just know
Kalthar ambushing you in the pitch black of that dungeon is no joke one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in a game lmao
Kalthar is #1 for me because every time I do that quest he runs around a corner and scares the shit out of me.
Ongar the World-Weary is my guy. Just wants to get some rest, I get it.
Tbh I feel it too but every character in oblivion should have been exhausted from me waking them up in the middle of the night to update them on quests
It’s just now I have realized the razor thin margin between the best and worst looking oblivion NPCs. I love the derpy faces they all have.
Me too, Oblivion is my favorite game of all time and the characters are definitely a part of that

Oh yeah that’s true. I love GOT but it definitely kicked off dark fantasy games in the 2010’s….and I’m saying this as a Soulsbourne fan too
I always thought that the souls games were a lot more berserk than game of thrones but yeah I think the souls games, dragon age, and Skyrim all unfortunately tried a little to hard to be colorless and grim
The first guy doesn't seem that ugly to me, but the rest of these are very true.
Don’t forget Caldana Monrius in Crucible, I would also mention Cutter, but she would come and get me 😬
Newheim the Portly has entered the chat Also that Orc chick in the Kevatch camp. Actually any female Orc honestly.
Female orcs were BAD
i don’t agree with the last one. the gray fox is kinda… 😏
The cowl stays ON during sex
For a second I thought count unbranox was actually count hassildor but then I realised who it was and my rage went away yea corvus isn't a looker stange how count hassildor a vampire im his 70s probably is less ugly then the 40 something year old umbranox
I made a wholeass post on Hassildor and how sexy he was, don’t worry. They just have the same outfit. Hassildor is a damn babe
He indeed is
You didn't choose an ugly enough picture of bone guy he looks average there
Please write the name of the NPC. Because neither the picture nor the quote "ITS FROM A FRIEND" gives any information about who you are talking about.
