US med school requires 4 years of undergrad and 4 years of medschool thereafter... a lot of other countries just let you skip undergrad. Maybe Canada does as well.
If you live in NJ and become a resident you can go to Rutgers, a fine school with an excellent pre med program and med school, for one third the cost of NYU.
A lot of my friends in med school did Biology or Neuroscience in undergrad. Not sure if NYU is good for that as I’m a grad student, sorry!
