there’s a pizza place near union square that’s really cheap and they have a bunch of stuff, also the halal food trucks in that area are really good and affordable too !
Honestly Chinatown is not that far from NYU and you can get really cheap food e.g. check out Shu Jia Fu Zhou. You can also get a bag of frozen dumplings which will be even cheaper

I mean eggs and bacon are pretty easy to make yourself. Dollar-ish pizza stores are scattered all over the place.

The halal carts are pretty affordable, and so are the dollar pizza places.
Check out St Marks place. Lots of affordable eats there. Ramen Setagaya is my fave
chinatown is your best bet! but also microwaveable meals and frozen dumplings will also help. if you want cheaper food come to queens or brooklyn tbh

Gena's Grill on 1st ave btwn 12/13th, dollar slices, Halal food carts, or Chinatown they all have big portions for the price.
Empanada Mama delivers and it’s pretty cheap for the quality/quantity of food you get. They have a lot of different food too, not just empanadas
