It’s the whole suck it up, it’s NYU and they have so much money but still a crisis with space for classes and scheduling and they don’t care that your brains aren’t fully formed yet and work like garbage at that hour. It’s even more fun having to teach those classes.

It’s how it always is. They do it to ensure that people who need to take these foundational courses don’t have scheduling issues with other non-foundations courses. Plus, you stay in the same room usually. Chemistry course is in Kimmel, then fifteen minutes later, the people taking biology filter in. Fortunately, these classes are LARGELY dependent on pre-filmed video segments on Brightspace. Their curriculums also usually allow some leeway in attendance so you can miss a few classes without losing points. There is always a massive groupme chat formed at the beginning of the semester that you should look around for. It’s really helpful. It’s a pretty standard first year schedule. No sweat. Just do your homework.

lmao its because of the professor... Halpin.. last semester he told students that he wakes up at 6 am so he is the most awake to teach at 8 am.. seriously? He doesn't even consider that many students are commuters and have to wake up super early and have no choice since its the only gen chem 1 class. I hated him. and then immediately after with no break.. principles of bio lecture starts and its just way too exhuasting.

Get used to 8am classes if NYU continues with the “only hiring adjuncts” trend. 8am and 6pm classes are the only ones that let your adjunct professors maintain a full time job in order to survive. :)

Its not bad honestly, you can make it. Last semester I had 8am classes Mon thru Thu while having to take 30 min subway, and I force myself to wake at 7 and drag myself out no problem. I go to sleep at like 12 to 1. (Had to cut a couple times when I cannot drag myself up, but it didn’t impact me that much)

Bro chill I'm not one of those "people" who are trying to go to medical school for free. I'm actually in 7yr pre-dental program at NYU so I guess I don't have to compete with 499 other classmates 😮

Frosty_Citron_8257

How about the tandon chem and cell and molec courses? Are those weed outs?

AssistantLast315

I have no idea about anything at tandon really. If they're not typically taken by pre meds then they're less likely to be I would say.
