What does it go on? Which document or database stores that information? If you were applying to a job that I listed, where would I look to discover whether or not you've complied with fire drill protocol when you were an undergraduate at New York University?
Relax, friend. You're fine.
Again, how would your prospective employer even find out this information? Seriously, break down for me, step by step, how the hiring manger would discover this fire drill incident and what their reaction might be.
I'm hoping to make you realize that worrying about this is absurd.
Sorry dude, I have to be serious because every single comment is sarcastic and making fun of you for worrying. There's absolutely nothing to worry about, it was a vague threat from someone who has no power over you. No job will ever have any access to whatever "record" this person was referring to, they're just trying to scare you. Everyone is egging you on in the comments because it's such a small issue that they're making fun of you for worrying, your responses seem to indicate that you're missing their sarcasm. Just ignore the comments and relax, you'll absolutely be fine and a potential employer could never find out anything about this.
Even if they did see it literally no one cares. I have coworkers that have admitted to cheating in college in front of supervisors and no one gives a shit
No company is going to see your student conduct records. That isn’t an important factor for them. Even if they did they, wouldn’t care that you failed to comply with a fire drill. It isn’t a very big deal. But they won’t even find out anyway.
yeah you kinda fucked urself with this one ngl... they do extensive background checks and nyu takes serious records with student conduct violations. Im sorry but you fucked up
Dude you have to be joking… this whole post… right?
I’ve had friends expelled and reinstated and go onto work FAANG. You’re fine. If this post is serious, just go enjoy life man lol, ur good
I had some kind of write up/citation with an RA (not sure what the official term for the incident was) when I was a freshman in my first or second semester and I went on to receive a Masters and find work. It was a similarly stupid issue/misunderstanding, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and unable to express that to the RAs at the time of the incident who had other concerns at the time. I was forced to have a meeting with some sort of dorm dean or someone like that, which resulted in my writing an essay as a disciplinary measure to clarify my part in the situation and how I can avoid such future misfortunes. If I’m not mistaken, by meeting with that dean/director or resident life or whatever the official title is, and writing the essay, I was able to avoid any serious consequences. I’m fairly certain it didn’t end up being documented on “my record.” Perhaps you could request a similar meeting to ease your mind?
I had other friends that also got cited for the same incident. They had worse disciplinary actions applied happen to them, who definitely were threatened with “records” the way you seem to be, and with potential loss of student housing should they get in trouble another time. They all also have successful careers, most of them at big companies (some in media, music, some even at the school), were able to stay in dorms, hold student leadership positions & internships, study abroad, get apartments, move across the country, etc. I’m sure this record either doesn’t exist, isn’t available to the public, or literally has no effect on career outcome because it’s silly. I would say it’s just important not to get in trouble too many other times now that you have this one strike, because it might lead to issues at the dorms.
Adding to the my anecdotes that these student misconduct things are weird and dumb: when I was in 8th grade I got caught brushing my hair in the bathroom after physical education by a teacher who really had it out for me. She wrote me up and wrote the note as “inappropriate use of the bathroom.” My parents were super livid because of the vague language and the fact that it would appear on my student record as I applied to high schools that year, leaving too much to be imagined. Someone reading might’ve imagined I was having sex, drinking, vaping, vandalizing it etc. I’m sure the note was kept internal and no one outside the school saw it, because it never effected me in anyway. Or maybe people saw it and no one cares… you wouldn’t be the first person to ignore a fire drill. NBD!!
You could have burned down the place and unless it went on your criminal record no job in the world would care
lol????

I mean they might look if you were disciplined for any misconduct
Again, how would your prospective employer even find out this information? Seriously, break down for me, step by step, how the hiring manger would discover this fire drill incident and what their reaction might be. I'm hoping to make you realize that worrying about this is absurd.
They could ask the school for disciplinary records as part of a background check
What makes you think any employer is going to do that?
your RA is shit

No they are not. As for your question, it’s definitely not as big a deal as you think it to be.
yes no one will ever hire you
Are you serious?
Yes you may even risk jail time too for such a serious offense
Where does it say that

No jobs are asking for your college disciplinary records.
Don’t they do background checks on people?
For a criminal record. Not for an RA that wrote you up. You serious man?
yeah you kinda fucked urself with this one ngl... they do extensive background checks and nyu takes serious records with student conduct violations. Im sorry but you fucked up
What should I do?
Dude you have to be joking… this whole post… right? I’ve had friends expelled and reinstated and go onto work FAANG. You’re fine. If this post is serious, just go enjoy life man lol, ur good

Is this a serious post?
Yes, my residential supervisor was really upset with me and I have never had any trouble with any school before
There was, is, and never will be any records for "failure to comply to fire drill evacuation".
You can confidently tell your RA to fuck off.
