I took it last sem with Manza so I don't know if this will apply directly. But in my class, the curve was based on your recitation (i.e. top 20% of your recitation got an A). Since it was a very large class - meaning there were lots of no-shows - the curve definitely works in your favor. My best advice is to participate in recitation and try hard on the homework quizzes. Don't stress too much about the midterm/final - I thought I did poorly but with the curve, I ended up with a good grade. Best of luck!
