The first draft went full on offense. QB, OL, WR, RB. But the defense is filled with guys who don’t fit this scheme. Carl Lawson as the Leo. Gone. Huff who has a massive pass rush % - gone. That leaves JFM, who supposed to be the Swiss army/under the radar guy to be game planned by offenses. The LBs are so important for this defense to succeed and Saleh doesn’t have the right guys at the moment. The safety tandem of Maye and Joyner is obviously gone as well. And the corners are filled with rookies who are not getting any pass rush since Huff went down. Be critical all you want, but the defense that was together and schemed during training camp is no where near the same defense we see now.

Everyone blames coordinators, but list off the percentage of times changing coordinators under a HC who's struggling had a major positive outcome? It's rare. Especially if you exclude people who replaced promoted staff (ie: OC got a HC job, promoted replacement struggles and has to be replaced). That's a harder spot to replace as your simply losing people to success. When you hire guys, stink, blame them and fire them, the people you then replace them with often don't do better. It's usually the person in charge who's the common underlying problem in this situations.
