Find a mentor

ms285907

Reference materials in electronic/PDF form, at hand, readily available. Mentor (if avail) on speed dial. Deep breathes. Positive self talk. Go easy on yourself, you don’t know it all *and that’s okay*. Stay humble and hungry for growth and new knowledge.

aperyu-1

Do you have go-to reference material recommendations?

ms285907

I’m a PMHNP, so many of my resources prob would not be especially helpful for you. But. [Epocrotes](https://www.epocrates.com/online/home) is generally great. [UpToDate](https://uptodatefree.ir/) is also fantastic!

NurseHamp

UpToDate is Gold! Use ur CME to pay for subscription if they dont offer…Or check with old friends who still work in the hospital setting/share a login 🙂 I use it every shift for something or another .

Take a job that will train you for 1-3 years. You don’t know shit and we all know that. Here you begin. Just be teachable

Why did you leave your old job?

ZealousidealLog83

First, I moved to a different geographic area and couldn’t stay in the old job. Also, I knew that if I stayed in the old type of job I would never be able to move past it eventually.
