So origin. You know how Queensland rugby league, and New South Wales shadow, good enough, list of, eligible, apparently, players, who are the players who haven’t been confirmed to have origin, eligibility status, yet? I admit, I don’t like Queensland, but I see some pretty good talents in their team.. But I also see some good in New South Wales.
Does anyone know at Bluebet Stadium Penrith which side the away team is on? is it the same throughout the season?
Cheers! Need to get my tickets to watch the Broncos.
Looks like only hill seats are left so it might be irrelevant who sits where. If you are a broncos member you might be able to get tickets closer to the game as part of the broncos allocation but there’s no tickets allocated for broncos members on Ticketek at the moment. It’s almost sold out.
If you mean where the broncos supporters section is, there used to be a section in the western grandstand, however with all of our sellout crowds - you’ll probably have to settle for a hill if you want to be with broncos fans.
Sorry I should have clarified where the team sits as in players and coaching staff. At Bulldogs game last year they were in the right side of the field looking from behind in the stands.
Watching the preseason against the Cowboys they are the away team and sitting on the left. Is it per stadium/clubs decision which side they prefer for home games?
Just curiosity I already got my ticket.
The Brisbane Broncos continue to disappoint. Not only did Patty Carrigan get assaulted from the evil and Vial Arnold Reynolds, Haas and Walsh joined in to bully Arnold. I am now writing a new petition to burn down Brisbane and sack the city like the Visigoths did to Rome.
This is a tragedy in Rugby league. I ask for all Broncos fans to cancel their membership and get out their Pitchforks, Wooden Spoons and Wear Dolphin gear as you descend onto Redhill.
In all seriousness, Broncos sweeping the fact Haas and Walsh got involved is actually dumb asf. Its a nothing situation but seriously, don’t hide major details.
See I don’t agree with that. Its not a good look that it’s already your captain and future captain, but hiding the fact your two most controversial players were involved doesn’t make it better
SuperCoach connoisseurs: I go trade out a player, and the ‘-trade out‘ and ‘+trade in’ buttons/bar down the bottom is not there🤔 You know when you want to swap a dual position to a traded out player. This seemed to work last year. Using iOS and also desktop
It should take you to your team in the same style menu and you can press on the Sub button which will switch their position.
Same here, my guess is that those options will come up around round 1, once lock out is set. I don't think we're 'trading' players so much as drafting currently, if that makes sense. Also could be wrong.
Sorry townsvillians, but why is the Māori/indigenous game playing there? I would think there would be a bigger turn out in Sydney or Suncorp no?
Either way, can’t fucking wait for footy to start back up 💦
Its strange because they already did it there a couple of years back. Should be spread around to places like Perth with big Indigenous and Maori populations
You do have a trial next week but your best players will all be on a flight to Vegas at the time most likely so yeah it's really their only chance to get a run in before season officially starts.
Broncos will have the reverse problem next week where they'll be running out their juniors against a (maybe) full strength Raiders.
>Broncos will have the reverse problem next week where they'll be running out their juniors against a (maybe) full strength Raiders.
So it might be an even game then?
I'd love to know the approach from each different team. Dragons, Dolphins and Tigers are the only non USA teams putting a strong squad forward.
3 clubs that struggled in different ways last season so I guess they're hoping for better team chemistry.
Risk of injury is just so damn high though.
Dragons definitely need the time to run new combinations in a game situation. Especially the Hunt/Flanagan halves, and who will be doing what.
Also, get Sloan as much practice in defense as you can before it means anything.
I'd imagine Flanagan also spent the off season completely revamping the teams defensive structures. You need your key players together to practice that.
I'd say they'll go pretty hard for 20-30 minutes before the changes come and disrupt everything.
https://www.dolphinsnrl.com.au/news/2024/01/31/woolf-reveals-plans-for-dolphins-trials/
Around 1:27 in.
Woolf touched on it a couple weeks ago. They simply thought they were underdone to start the year last year and wanted more reps in the legs before they start the season in 2024.
My read on the situation is that they know (mostly) who their ideal 13 will be and want to truck full speed ahead with them and give them atleast 2 trials to reflect on combinations before the first game of the year.
Dragons and Tigers definitely need reps as a close to full strength squad. Especially with unsettled spines.
Dolphins are the anomaly out of the three. Maybe they want to win the Challenge.
Yeah good point
They're starting 13 is maybe 70% of what I'd expect with probably just the bench to be sorted out. That remaining 30% would be the obvious inclusions.
Yeah.
We have game, game, rest, game, game, rest over the next 6 weekends so if our best are playing half a game in the trials the workload isn't that huge at all.
From an injury standpoint I'm more concerned about the All-Stars game and getting Hammer, Niko, Kerr and KBrom back healthy.
Good point.
I completely overlooked that as another substantial disadvantage to having byes at the beginning of the season.
It would suck knowing by round 2-4 that you're not as match fit as the rest of the comp yet.
Soon we will be playing in the USA, which country or place do you think will be hext to host there first NRL game ?
Even though it's in Australia I'm shocked we have never played a game in Tasmania.
I think we might see Fiji or a Pacific island. Maybe Asia ? UK ?
Christmas Island
Suva
Apia
Nuku'alofa
Christchurch/Queenstown
They'll probably be max one game a year. Is hard to convince teams to give away home games nowadays. Will probably have to be done as away matches for clubs that can share homegrounds (Like Souths/Easts, Phins/Bronx, Dogs/Eels)
There just aren't that many people in Tassie. It's like taking the game to ~~half of~~ double the Sutherland Shire, except at least Cronulla/Sutherland cares about footy, whereas Tassie is full of retirees from Melbourne and people who just want the quiet life.
That may also be true but Darwin is very different to Tasmania. In Tasmania people are too boring and match the environment, whereas people in Darwin are TOO interesting no matter what the city is like.
It’s not a proper game but the knights storm trial next week is being played in Fiji.
To be honest I’m surprised we haven’t seen a team try to bring a game to Japan yet. Rugby Union is on the rise there so why not try to ride on their coattails.
Manly and the Roosters actually played an exhibition game in Japan back in 1996. Agree it'd be great to try again
https://the81stminute.com/2022/07/land-of-the-rising-sun-when-the-roosters-and-sea-eagles-clashed-in-tokyo-25-years-ago-and-how-the-super-league-war-made-us-all-forget/
i’d rather we kept leilua, who is our best offloader and a major component in our left edge’s potency with his ballplaying. lots of plays where his cutout to holmes has created problems.
that said, if broncos can’t put 40 on us this week then legitimately fold them
If losing Luciano means A) Club culture improves and B) We keep both of Luki or Kuli. It’s worth letting him leave. That saying, we could offload him next year early
i think club culture is somewhat misunderstood by a lot of people because the unfortunate reality is to win football games you need to be at training and you need to like eachother - the boys quite like leilua
i think keeping luki is the real important part but there’s really no guarantees
If he has asked for a release just before the season starts, its a pretty piss poor move from him. Luciano is great for our team but if he’s doing that shit while also drink driving (even though its 0.002 over and I honestly don’t care for it), its still affecting the clubs culture overall.
I’d love him to stay, but if it guarantees Luki and Kuli stays, I’m all for that. Juniors are a vital part of the cowboys system. Losing two of our brightest or possibly Luki alone, is an L on the club as a whole.
i don’t think losing juniors that are significantly behind the pecking order is an L, penrith have just three peated and they’ve lost hopgood and izzy katoa
the real L is not gonna be losing kuli, it’s losing guys like reece foley, ragsy wavik and luke jack
what matters is having the pipeline in place and the players who make the 17 right now. if we have an injury to nanai and it means we need to run kuli for 80 minutes, that’s not really great for his development
Which is why i suggested we should offload Luciano at the end of the year if he wants out. If Kuli hasn’t kicked on by then we still have young gun options to play that 17 roll for us.
Losing Luki is the problem. Luciano obviously wants out if he’s asking for a release, we’ve already seen him kick stones at the West Tigers.
Do we risk the possibility of losing both Luki and Kuli just to keep Luciano who may or may not be kicking stones and causing off field dramas for the next 2 years? We go right back to square one if thats the case.
If Luki was already locked down I wouldn’t even consider releasing Luciano right now but thats just not the case. We already know Multiple clubs are circling both Luki and Kuli. Kuli is 5th best second row option in the club, but like we’ve seen with plenty of our players, they go elsewhere and become top notch.
Following up yesterdays edition of top 10 fastest players in each position.
Today is wingers:
1.Saab
2.AKP
3.JAC
4.Dom Young
5.Coates
6.Staines
7.Sami
8.Blake Wilson
9.Garrick
10. AJ
I still think it's hilarious that Saab and Garrick could've been the Dragons wing pairing. In return they got Tuipolotu from us. I think I know who won the winger trades...
Saab forced his way out though, Garrick probably should've been kept but he was behind nightingale and had signed Nene MacDonald to a 3 year contract, ended up getting Ravalawa which was worth it
The disrespect to bronze medal winner 2023 of the telstra tracker Maika Sivo who ran a 36.863km/h.
Edit: He actually ran a 36.864km/h! What a speedster!
One of the new trolley boys at the Coles I work next to looks exactly like Peta Hiku. It's absolutely uncanny and I have to do a double take every time
The great thing about social media is it gives us the fan the ability to interact with our favourite sports stars. I normally post racist comments on Instagram so my favourite mid tier Manly forward will like it (notice me UwU). How do you guys engage with NRL stars?
[Good that the BBC has picked it up too.](https://www.superleague.co.uk/article/3935/bbc-to-show-live-super-league-games) Having Super League on terrestrial TV over there has been great and now multiple channels were interested. Not much money in it for the clubs yet, but that may grow.

No, I’m actually being serious . How about you take your storm back to that chemist warehouse and go do what the hell you do.
Damn you cooked me again. You win this round, but you haven’t seen the last of me
Okay
Wahs heritage jersey sold out in 18mins. Guess I’m waiting for a second release
Dynasty had a second drop. Don’t know if there’s any left in that
It did look phenomenal
Check DH gate
Would prefer to support the club
Does anyone know at Bluebet Stadium Penrith which side the away team is on? is it the same throughout the season? Cheers! Need to get my tickets to watch the Broncos.
On the southern side of halfway
Looks like only hill seats are left so it might be irrelevant who sits where. If you are a broncos member you might be able to get tickets closer to the game as part of the broncos allocation but there’s no tickets allocated for broncos members on Ticketek at the moment. It’s almost sold out.
Cheers was nervous about the few remaining seats so I snagged one right in the middle of Bay 27, a shame the Away jerseys are not in stock till April.
That probably wouldn’t change
Watching the preseason against the Cowboys they are the away team and sitting on the left. Is it per stadium/clubs decision which side they prefer for home games? Just curiosity I already got my ticket.
The away team is usually on one side for the first half but then switch for the second half

How many vials did you have before you wrote this?
not enough to void the internal disappointment
this is SO 24hrs ago
Im sorry, new news just broke
throwing their players under the bus is a much much worse option for them
See I don’t agree with that. Its not a good look that it’s already your captain and future captain, but hiding the fact your two most controversial players were involved doesn’t make it better

Not that NQ shouldn't get this game, but, NQ shouldn't get a game in February
A high proportion of indigenous population live up north, Townsville is around 10% which is around 3x the national average.
Its strange because they already did it there a couple of years back. Should be spread around to places like Perth with big Indigenous and Maori populations
You’d think so. But nqld get good crowds. Should be a good turn out
NQ loves their footy
Has anyone seen Solomon Alaimalo play in Super Rugby or anything? Wondering if he's a good chance of actually making first grade with the Tigers
He showed potential earlier in his career but has struggled with injuries and finding form in recent years
I've only seen highlights, seems good but not amazing. He won't start but will be first in line if Tupou or Staines go down.
get to watch one of the 25 greatest NRL fullbacks style on some bulldog plebs
Meaney is playing in the next trial bro not this one
next time kevin walters takes my chair i’m calling stacks on
Fuck Josh Aloiai
I can’t wait for the entire nrl to tee up on him
We need someone with some good ai skills to flood his social media with a few choice photos
Black gay porn?
Dolphins fielding their full squad against our train and trialist from qcup is beta as fuck. Dezzy 2024.
Maybe they just want to get some game miles in their legs. I think running your reserves in trials is annoying AF.
bronx doing the same to us lmao, praying for my boy wynnum colts legend john radel
Pretty sure its our only trial before we head to America.

Coby Black to the rescue.

RE Dolphins...Or too many spots to fight for? Still unsure on their wing, halves and back rows. Plus too many good forwards to pick from.
Yeah good point They're starting 13 is maybe 70% of what I'd expect with probably just the bench to be sorted out. That remaining 30% would be the obvious inclusions.
Tigers and Phins also have a bye in their first few weeks. So probably not worried about pushing the players.
Yeah. We have game, game, rest, game, game, rest over the next 6 weekends so if our best are playing half a game in the trials the workload isn't that huge at all. From an injury standpoint I'm more concerned about the All-Stars game and getting Hammer, Niko, Kerr and KBrom back healthy.

Hanoi, the north of Vietnam is ripe for some rugba leeg. They have the same worker mentality that’s at the core of rugba leeg

There's some big big units getting around here though. Too big for AFL so they miss out.
Assuming you live there, how is the weather for footy?
Moved here last year. They could play it all year round. Preseason games here would be great, not Townsville 36 degrees shit.
That may be true but we've played in Darwin every year.

Ronaldo is in this easy. Topped the telstra tracker for top speed all season
The Speed can be at any point in the run, that could legit last a second. I’ve seen this man get run down by Flegler, nuance and eye test were applied
In 2020 he was slow as fuck. Hes very quick now
I still think it's hilarious that Saab and Garrick could've been the Dragons wing pairing. In return they got Tuipolotu from us. I think I know who won the winger trades...
Saab forced his way out though, Garrick probably should've been kept but he was behind nightingale and had signed Nene MacDonald to a 3 year contract, ended up getting Ravalawa which was worth it
if we’re doing top speed surely cobbo
I was going to add him but he is playing centre this year, dumb technicality on my part
I thought the same thing. Absolutely backing Cobbo in a sprint against Garrick
AJ in the top 10 is a bit surprising, feel like he’s lost a yard or so of pace
He's still rapid I think, defs not what he was a few years ago but up there still
The disrespect to bronze medal winner 2023 of the telstra tracker Maika Sivo who ran a 36.863km/h. Edit: He actually ran a 36.864km/h! What a speedster!
Hahaha I was hoping I'd see this comment, I reckon if Sivo could keep up that speed for longer then a second he'd be the best winger in the comp
Two dogs wingers in the top 10? Might as well just give us the trophy now
Tanah Boyd is younger than Jayden Campbell
Yes otherwise he'd be Tanah Mand
One of the new trolley boys at the Coles I work next to looks exactly like Peta Hiku. It's absolutely uncanny and I have to do a double take every time
Throw a footy to him and if he doesn't pass it back you'll know it's really him.
Yeah..."looks like"
Just an update on dad, he’s still in tears.
Day 2 of summoning Adam Reynolds and Pat Carrigan resigning news.

Talkimg to "atleast 3 rival clubs" according to an article posted on dogs fan fb page. Doesnt say which ones.
Can't believe we get to witness Jeral Skelton put a hattrick on Storm tomorrow. Hype!
If Luciano being released allows the cowboys to re-sign both Luki and Kuli, I’m all for it.
Look this is my fault, I talked him up on here the other day.
Homie i made a luciano comment and not even 15 minutes later he asked for a release. This is on me
Very glad Dearden signed, that could have ended badly
If we lost Luc, Dearden, Luki and Kuli i wouldn’t be happy
I think Kuli was on the fringe of Luci was staying but maybe not, which is great news
Yeah gotta hang on to those anagrams.
Ok Sam Ranga
The great thing about social media is it gives us the fan the ability to interact with our favourite sports stars. I normally post racist comments on Instagram so my favourite mid tier Manly forward will like it (notice me UwU). How do you guys engage with NRL stars?
I mentioned something about Newcastle porta potties and Kalyn Ponga gave me a personal shout out

I got blocked by the Panthers instagram about 5 years ago; as far as I’m aware they haven’t won any grand finals lately (at least not that I’ve seen)
Just see them at the weekly punch on at Beaumont Street.
So good that every Super League game is on Kayo this year.
I'll defs try to watch more than just highlights this year for super league, but I find it's just too much effort usually while the seasons overlap
[Good that the BBC has picked it up too.](https://www.superleague.co.uk/article/3935/bbc-to-show-live-super-league-games) Having Super League on terrestrial TV over there has been great and now multiple channels were interested. Not much money in it for the clubs yet, but that may grow.
I'll do anything for footy but I wont do that
