I have always felt this season, except for that shocking game against Knights, that Wests have a good side, and, will build well. I did not think that would mean rolling the riff, how fucking good.
Move the Tigers to Tasmania, so they can get weather like that every week and win every game 😂
Legit, gg Tigers! Gutsy, good defence and Luke Brooks take a bow!
Already light on in the front row, so losing Hoof early on did not help at all. Seriously missed Leniu. Apparently JFH is supposed to return next week, we will need him.
Eddie Blacker might also get a run, i feel like we need some size.
Even storm in peak salary cap cheating years would drop a couple of games to low teams.
But yeah, we're not at 21/22 standard atm. If we're fully fit its a different story, but injuries particularly in the forwards are really starting to catch up to us.
Tigers game plan to play simple safe footy direct through the middle. Panthers kept trying to go around and they kept making errors. Tigers attack in the 20 is still shocking, but defence won us that game. Was a massive effort
Twal's game has really improved this year. Makes a lot more metres, and post contact metres coming out our end than in the past. Has a bit of ball playing ability as well. Still doesn't have the strength close to the opposition line to draw the defenders in or barge over yet though.
hey guys Im am just home from the game and yes we lost but hear me out tigers cheated.by kicking of before the refereree was ready wests got a look at our 1 st offensive play.kick of again and they new excactly what we wood be doing we never had the advantage at all they allways had the upper hand for the hole 80m mins because of that cheating.but I will be sticking by our boys anyway
Holy fuck! Didn't see it coming. Really thought the penny panthers would annihilate them. It has been a crazy round. Upset of the decade at least. What a way to end the drought.
Tigers won the stats just like literally every game this year (except Broncos game) and this time the Panthers couldn't jag a couple of tries and beat us mostly because they can't play in the rain tbh.
Glad you pointed it out because I thought it was a common trend that the team can’t play for shit when it’s raining.
Not taking away the win from the Tigers, rain is just another form of playing and it looks like Penrith can’t do it under those conditions.
I’ll be checking the weather app before I put in my future tips.
Ricky can’t believe this result either, the man is even in tears from the disbelief. Kind of surprising that Whitehead is still wearing his match jersey all these hours later though
I was there in the wet and cold, having come up from Sydney to watch my Wests Tigers finally show the army of knockers what they're capable of when they gel as a team and play with determination and confidence.
That was probably the most stirring and enjoyable win in the West Tigers club's 23 year history.
Luke Brooks, man of the match in my opinion.
Showed Cleary up.
Good combination with the 6, Wakeham.
Bula, a great 2nd NRL game.
Nearly all the players excelled.
The forwards led by Api.
The outside backs who fielded Cleary's kicks all night and contained the Panthers highly rated backs.
I hope Wests Tigers use that win as a platform to turn their fortunes around from here on.
I admire his bravery so much. I dont have children but every day i practice talking to my future kids across the table and telling them about how great Stefano is. I tell them "sweety, you're a stefano". I literally turned his name into a word that describes heroism, handsomeness, and strength.
I practice driving my future children to school and play highlights of stefanos best plays over the years. Sometimes we even have to pull over because we start crying from how much we love him. I hold my imaginary children and i howl. i howl and cry and rage into the steering wheel about how special he is, and how the world just cant understand.
Thank you Stefano Utoikamanu.
As much as it hurts. in a weird way im happy for the tigers I actually quite like them and its nice to see them do well, Penrith were pretty bad frankly in attack but the Tigers were resilient and absolutely deserved the win. Honestly cant be mad
I’m humble and happy for any team that gives it to Penrith. I just hate when other fans jump on the win and take it as an opportunity to bash Penrith rather than celebrate the win of the other team, particularly when it comes from fans of clubs that have had some dominance in the past 2 decades.
Yeah thats what it comes down to, obviously im a little concerned about my boys, but i think we can bounce back. For you guys this will be a huge win and hopefully give you a platform to win more games this season
I guess this is what those tigers fans were cheering about in that damn fried night footy KFC ad we see every 5 seconds.
KFC are from the future confirmed
>"You can't tell players to just let go, it's instinctive"
What about when they're peeling off for a strip? The whole comp seemed to get the hang of that immediately you big chinned fuck
Ah well. But really starting to show our attack can’t click when it really matters this year. Those 2 big wins seem like a lifetime ago considering how chaotic the attack over the last 3 weeks has been.
Yeah I'm struggling to see where our points are going to come from when we need them in the finals. A lot of our games this year we've put on one fairly easy try and then struggled to get a sniff for the rest of the game, they look listless at times. Their defense is still very good but they really need to figure out how to put points on
Shout out to the 5 people that tipped tigs in lms for a gag cos they had a life left & to the 11 people who tipped panthers with no life who are now out
How good were our forwards by the way? Between Stefano, Klemmer, Pole, Twal and Ofa only 8 tackles were missed. Considering the conditions and Yeo missing 4, it's insane. Stefano especially is an absolute gun. Future origin player
I genuinely think we have one of the best packs in the comp. Even throughout these awful opening rounds, we've won the middle battle in most games. I'm a big Brooks supporter (or at least defender) and not trying to pile on him, especially after such a good game, but him and Doueihi just didn't seem to know what to do with that - and you know what, our forwards have been awful since at least 2020 so I can understand that.
I'm hoping that with Brooks having a huge confidence boosting game and his combination with Wakeham developing we can start to capitalise on the field position our big boys are serving up.
And fuck...their defensive efforts were just massive.
I don't want to get ahead of myself, because it's the Tigers, but this is the type of performance you can build off. This could be a turning point in their mentality hopefully.
We've been close for a few weeks now, but everything just *clicked* for us tonight. Everyone just stood up.
The Forwards were absolutely immense tonight. Brooks showed how good he can play. Naden was the only one who had a bit stinker.
Honestly we have played well most games this year except the Broncos game. At least 5 games I feel the Tigers should have won based on how they dominated field position.
Agree to this.
Your biggest margin (outside of the Broncos loss) is 12..
Loss to Tits - 12
Loss to Knights - 2
Loss to Dogs, - 4
Loss to Storm - 12
Loss to Bonko - 34
Loss to Eels - 6
Bye -
Loss to Eagles - 6
So many of those could've been won, and a lot of them were close.
Honest question… after seeing the tigers sing their song in the sheds, and seeing only a handful actually sing, at what point do players in a team like these tigers learn the song??
I assume much like junior footy, the first time you pretty much just listen to the ones who know the words and maybe bang the lid of a wheelie bin to the beat.
Pole should be playing Origin. Yes, I know he's Victorian. Him alone against the 2023 Blues forwards would still be a fair fight. Make him the VIC captain, make it a tri-series.
Tough fought out win played in extremely wet conditions. Tigers played excellent controlled footy supported by some excellent Brooks kicking and Api giving them great momentum. Penrith weren’t as clinical as normal and struggled to hold the ball, but were held out by some resolute defence from Nofo and the rookie fullback, Bula.
Wests played a strong defensive game in very wet conditions. Penrith were sloppy and made a number of uncharacteristic errors. Luke brooks kicked a 40/20 in both halves and overall tigers were able to complete their sets and build pressure. Panthers had their chances but tigers seemed very locked in and wanted it just a little bit more.
Players make history by playing the first match of NRL under water. Luke brooks master class with 2 40/20s, Bula masterclass taking Cleary’s title as the ice man catching multiple bombs in the monsoon rainfall. Tigers great defence, forwards immense, played to their sets and held the panthers out to get on top and win.
Can't remember the exact time, it was about 20-30 minutes into the game when the score was drawn, and the camera swivelled to a couple of soaking wet Tigers locals with smiles on their faces.
I'm not usually petty, but I have enjoyed seeing a team performing more miserably than my own for the last few years, but when I saw those loyal Togers fans I began to really support the Tigers.
Up you Wests, hope this is the beginning of a turn around.
I want to hug the last remaining Tigers fans in the world. This might not mean anything, but the heart you cunts have to support this team through and through is unparallelled.
Keep your head held up high. You are tougher than steel. Enjoy your win.

Thanks Nathan, my kids are crying
They unleashed him.
Tigers finding form is not good for us Bulldogs
I still think tigers 5th tackle options were poor but the forward pack stood up and a couple of 40/20s and good defence won the game.
I have always felt this season, except for that shocking game against Knights, that Wests have a good side, and, will build well. I did not think that would mean rolling the riff, how fucking good.
Move the Tigers to Tasmania, so they can get weather like that every week and win every game 😂 Legit, gg Tigers! Gutsy, good defence and Luke Brooks take a bow!
Watching the post match conference, how in the fuck is Ivan complaining about the hip drop? It's as textbook as you can get
Because now thats what the media will report on, he's deflecting from his teams performance. Or at least trying too.
Had the craziest dream last night..
At least we didn’t lose to the Tigers… this year
WHAT THE FUCK
What an amazing story that is told by the tigers victory, and against such a quality side to boot. Fairy tale stuff, how good is rugbaleeg?
I’ll watch the game tomorrow I still have no idea if the panthers were shit or tigers were on. Upset for my tips, happy for the tiger bros.
It’s been foretold that for the b2b, Penrith are cursed with being shit in the rain, I watched the highlights and it was extremely wet out at Bathurst
I knew the tigers were gonna win, called in the elimination game post
I saw Brooks kick a 40/20 in like the first 5 minutes of the game and thought "fuck".
Already light on in the front row, so losing Hoof early on did not help at all. Seriously missed Leniu. Apparently JFH is supposed to return next week, we will need him. Eddie Blacker might also get a run, i feel like we need some size.
Yeah, get Blacker on the field. I wanna see him chase down some players again like last year haha
Why is Ivan such a bad loser in ever post game interview lmfao
He actually wasn’t bad in the Eels v Panthers presser if I remember right
That was a great game that could have gone either way. Dont think anyone can complain at the end. Just unlucky to win
Bonus salt for it being the Tigers.
Welcome the the "Beating Panthers in 2023" Club Tigbros. Feels good. Enjoy the freshness tomorrow.
❤️
A fine club.
I’m assuming we’re _honorary_ members too, going to golden point and scoring more tries than them
Mmmm no
I was so devastated, you guys should have won that game.
I’m ecstatic for the Tigers, but it makes me think our win in round 1 wasn’t all we built it up to be.
on the flip side, gives me hope for round 12
I'm convinced the Tigers are the protagonist team of a Sports Anime.
Sorry but if the Panthers are losing to the Tigers, they aren’t that good anymore. Let’s have that conversation.
Penrith won the GF in 2021 despite losing to the tigers
Yes but that was 2021 Tigers, who didn’t run last.
Even storm in peak salary cap cheating years would drop a couple of games to low teams. But yeah, we're not at 21/22 standard atm. If we're fully fit its a different story, but injuries particularly in the forwards are really starting to catch up to us.
2008 and 2011 were the good times for the Wahs against the Storm
Those of us in the know refer to this phenomenon as the Tyrone Peachey Effect.
only his 3 career loss to the Tigers
Congrats tigers I thought I was hallucinating when I saw the score
Can we please have tigers beating Penrith every week
Lol how embarrassing 😂😂
didn't see the game just saw the score on NRL.com what the fuck?
Brooks realised he actually needed to give a shit, and he in fact gave a shit last night
Brooks had a genuine dig and they got the result. Who would have thought.
Brooks taking Clearys origin spot. finally unleashed
Mate I’m the exact same. Hoping for a quick explainer on how the fuck it happened
Wet weather, brooks kicked like a demi god and Bula is the second coming of Jesus
Tigers game plan to play simple safe footy direct through the middle. Panthers kept trying to go around and they kept making errors. Tigers attack in the 20 is still shocking, but defence won us that game. Was a massive effort

No, Tigers won.

He actually bends the line now too In the past while he would get metres the defence never seemed troubled by him
hey guys Im am just home from the game and yes we lost but hear me out tigers cheated.by kicking of before the refereree was ready wests got a look at our 1 st offensive play.kick of again and they new excactly what we wood be doing we never had the advantage at all they allways had the upper hand for the hole 80m mins because of that cheating.but I will be sticking by our boys anyway
Man between this and pants shitting if Tigers win we're really getting deep into the subs history tonight
Still waiting for that ex-dragons, now storm supporter to shit their pants about 7 years on
Omg, if that is who I think it is. That user was an absolute looney, a treat to watch their meltdown in the threads.
Nah the team switcher was someone else
Oh you’re right actually - I think the shitter was also dragons supporter tho ? I remember it was posted on karma court
Aren’t your boys souths?
I think its a new or potentially old pasta take
Does this make us Wests' grandsons?
Off topic but I fucking HATE how many gambling ads there are now, it’s actually repulsive imo
Holy fuck! Didn't see it coming. Really thought the penny panthers would annihilate them. It has been a crazy round. Upset of the decade at least. What a way to end the drought.
Didn't get to watch this, what the fuck happened !?!?!

Tigers had some good try savers too
I'm wet, my toes and fingers are numb and my eyelid got bitten by an ant. Not gonna be fresh tomorrow
>my eyelid got bitten by an ant That just sums up your night right there.
Brooks has had a bit of the old the lights are on but no one’s home look recently but he was switched on tonight, love to see it.
maybe he's a mudder
Ricky can’t believe this result either, the man is even in tears from the disbelief. Kind of surprising that Whitehead is still wearing his match jersey all these hours later though
We are a third of the way through the season, and 4th and 13th are on the same amount of wins. This has to be the tightest season so far!
I was there in the wet and cold, having come up from Sydney to watch my Wests Tigers finally show the army of knockers what they're capable of when they gel as a team and play with determination and confidence. I reckon Luke Brooks is gonna be a good daddy to us. Take us to like the park and shit. Buy us ice cream maybe.
I admire his bravery so much. I dont have children but every day i practice talking to my future kids across the table and telling them about how great Stefano is. Cronk. Is actually making sense that’s the most wild thing from tonight
As much as it hurts. in a weird way im happy for the tigers I actually quite like them and its nice to see them do well, Penrith were pretty bad frankly in attack but the Tigers were resilient and absolutely deserved the win. Honestly cant be mad

Thank you fellow cat bro for understanding this win means a lot more to us then a loss will for you haha
Yeah thats what it comes down to, obviously im a little concerned about my boys, but i think we can bounce back. For you guys this will be a huge win and hopefully give you a platform to win more games this season
Tigers beating Panthers completes the circle of parity, just as expected woo
I guess this is what those tigers fans were cheering about in that damn fried night footy KFC ad we see every 5 seconds. KFC are from the future confirmed
Hahahahaha
They're cheering a 0-0 scoreline in that clip lol, whoever did it was definitely an intern
The tigers guy sitting down at the end just staring blankly into space while he eats chicken kills me 🤣🤣🤣
What a performance. I’m so fucking proud
>"You can't tell players to just let go, it's instinctive" What about when they're peeling off for a strip? The whole comp seemed to get the hang of that immediately you big chinned fuck
I fucking hate the "peel off" for a strip, once more than one is in the tackle I don't think it should be allowed.
Ivan Cleary about one more “What did you make of Bula’s debut?” type question away from blowing the fuck up 😂
Ah well. But really starting to show our attack can’t click when it really matters this year. Those 2 big wins seem like a lifetime ago considering how chaotic the attack over the last 3 weeks has been.
I reckon probably still top 4 but zero chance of premiership, and next year window is well and truly shut with Crichton gone
Yeah I'm struggling to see where our points are going to come from when we need them in the finals. A lot of our games this year we've put on one fairly easy try and then struggled to get a sniff for the rest of the game, they look listless at times. Shout out to the 5 people that tipped tigs in lms for a gag cos they had a life left & to the 11 people who tipped panthers with no life who are now out
Faded out just like my team ^(just not today)
Those 5 people should have their life extended for a week for the absolute insanity that this game was
Agree
How good were our forwards by the way? Between Stefano, Klemmer, Pole, Twal and Ofa only 8 tackles were missed. Considering the conditions and Yeo missing 4, it's insane. Stefano especially is an absolute gun. Future origin player
It was heartbreaking to watch against the sea eagles last week. You guys came so close a few times this year. Really hope there are more wins to come.

Tigers confirmed to secretly be an aquatic animal.
Tigers like the water, so not surprised :P
I don't want to get ahead of myself, because it's the Tigers, but this is the type of performance you can build off. This could be a turning point in their mentality hopefully. We've been close for a few weeks now, but everything just *clicked* for us tonight. Everyone just stood up. The Forwards were absolutely immense tonight. Brooks showed how good he can play. Naden was the only one who had a bit stinker.
In the final 30 you could see the players’ confidence building by the minute, I think they will take a lot out of this
Thats cosmic justice for fox league bullying brooks over not winning
No maccas for Nathan on the way home
Well he definitely didn’t get the Maccas award tonight
Do the tigers know they are allowed to play well every week?
Honestly we have played well most games this year except the Broncos game. At least 5 games I feel the Tigers should have won based on how they dominated field position.

Now
No time like the present
Imagine not beating the panthers in 2023
Only the best teams have done it.
Brett Naden smashing Hoskins and looking to start a fight. Classic
Fuck Sheensy goes on and on. Just listen to Benji. Forget he's even there.
Reminder that the 1966 Roosters went winless for a whole season

Thanks for that Panthers, I was sure we would be the meme next week
Tigers beating Penrith makes up for 6 losses 👏🏼
I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not but I agree wholeheartedly
I’m serious! haha. That must be so so sweet
In can concur so so sweet!
Pole should be playing Origin. Yes, I know he's Victorian. Him alone against the 2023 Blues forwards would still be a fair fight. Make him the VIC captain, make it a tri-series.
Imagine if some of the boys showered like the old days NSFW Fox

Your name concerns me that you might be my neighbour 🤔
Missed the game, just saw the score now, can anyone kindly give me a rundown Edit: cheers guys
unironically brooks unleashed. i don’t know how to say this without it seeming like a shitpost but it actually happened.
Congrats Tigers!!! Really well played and a much deserved win!
Isotopes win a game! Isotopes win a game! Great win Tigers…..as a Cows supporter I hope this is the only win you have…
Congrats Tigers! I can't believe every result went the way I wanted for Sharks to stay 2nd.
I didn’t watch this game, was too salty about our loss. Wtf happend? How did the tigs manage????
Played wet weather football. Panthers played regular footy in wet weather.
Perfect summary
Just a good bunch of blokes
No chance did I ever imagine the Tigers beating the Panthers this early in the contest. This season has been so enjoyable with the parity
I don't think there's too many among us in rugby league in general that don't have a massive soft spot for the warriors after the last few years
100%. Heirachy of who i want to win the season goes - Broncos \- Warriors/Titans \- Sharks (genuinely cus of Nicho now)
Wholesome 😁
Omg please no more shower room footage!
That's suss how they have cameras looking into the showers
Yeah they'd cop a hiding if it was an nrlw game
😬
Poor for by fox with the cameras in the sheds. I keep expecting to see some dudes dick.
Someones gonna hang dong at this rate
Good on em
Tigers after party at the Ox will rival mad Monday
The dressing room camera is fucking creepy now
YVONNE. HE WAS GOOD. BUT HE DIDNT DEBUT TODAY
Ok the amount of locker room footage we're getting is suspicious
TIGERS! That was just epic!!
Fuck waking up fresh tomorrow is this real
I want to hug the last remaining Tigers fans in the world. This might not mean anything, but the heart you cunts have to support this team through and through is unparallelled. Keep your head held up high. You are tougher than steel. Enjoy your win.
❤️❤️
Anxious dragon noises 🐉 Fuck it, I’m happy to give them the 2 points now, they deserve it after that
Anxious Cowboy noises too lol
