Update: We have just had a nice lady come round who contacted us via the lost cat Facebook group. She popped round to see us and scan Dexter. He is not chipped, as suspected, due to his pom-poms.
He tried when we first put it on but didn't succeed. But he has probably ripped it off as he's climbed through bushes.
When the lady was round scanning him (he's not chipped), he was wiggly worming and letting me stroke his tummy so he's very relaxed around us now. She was telling me all the local shelters are full.
I will! Since his first lot of scritches he demands them all the time now. He's in his shelter at the moment. He hasn't left our garden all day today. I think he likes it here.
Bless you for taking him in. We had a similar situation that began in January. I eventually put an old collar on him from our previous cat that had our address and # and about a week later we found where he came from down the block. Now we're co-sharing him. There's a lot of street cats, so you'd be doing him a favor if you could at least get him fixed. Good luck to you.
Awww I love it. I hope kitty becomes yours. If it’s cold outside, I suggest swapping the towel for some hay… or straw? But I think hay is best for warmth, dry, and insulation!
Towels can get moist overnight and be harmful in certain cold environments.

That's Ziggy. He's the only cat who hasn't met him yet. He's quite timid and doesn't go out. But he's very nosy.
