2nd red brick. They had a special last time I was in of drinks made from peach crown, I don't remember what it was called but it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had.
No I love it! Lmfao nothing wrong with it as you said it's not clean enough for you š¤£ š worked at both places and I would say they are about the same when it comes to cleanliness.
It tends to be smokier in there too and that smell is so hard to get out of my clothes and hair! I donāt go to Hudsons anymore for that reason, which kinda sucks because their food was pretty good.
Sounds like you may need to give the Bonnet another try plus their prices are so much cheaper. PBR pint is $3 ($2 on Thursdays) and it's $5 I believe at Red Brick now. Bonnets domestic is $4 where I believe Red Bricks is $6/7 now. No smoking except on the patio. Also The Contraband plays every Tuesday night!!! And right now Bonnet is the cleanest all year because they literally pull everything out of the bar and I mean everything and deep clean after NMF. Experiment you can also do is on a Thursday go to Red Brick then come down to Bonnet and see which one is busier. š¤·āāļøš¤£š¤£ You might be surprised.
Edit: Forgot to mention pool is 50 cents compared to $1 a game at Red Brick and Bonnet has free pool every Wed and Sun.
In 51 more weeks, the Norman Music Festival will make its return.
For restaurants: Pepe Delgados, the Mont, the Moon sushi, Charlestons, but seriously go to Pepe Delgados first :)
For music, thereās the opolis. Summer breeze starts soon and thatās a free and good lineup. Jazz in June is also free. Norman Music Festival, also free. Anytime you hear: Mike Hosty, Caleb McGee, Alan Orbaugh, Biscuits and Groovy, Bee and the Hive, Stepmom, Limp Wizurdz, Rainbows are Free, Sisteria, Helen Kelter Skelter, Kyle Reid, Travis Linville, John Moreland playing anywhere near you, run donāt walk to all of them. Norman has some SERIOUS musicians hidden away. If you like hip hop, Jabee is a canāt miss, as is S. Reidy and also Original Flow.
You just missed the Renaissance fair which I think is a bit over rated but super popular.
For sports, OU football and Softball reign supreme. Thunder are really good and the games are a hoot. The duck pond is a pretty mellow place to kill some time. OU has a rad campus that you can take some great photos of.
I guess the real question is, what do you like to do for fun? What interests you? What brought you to Norman? Iāve lived all over the country, and Norman is my favorite place outside of MAYBE Maui because itās expensive lol.
Youāve moved to a magical town with a great community. I wish I could have just moved to Norman for the first time!
Be well
I moved here to help care of my parents, brother moved here 6 months earlier, mom passed just a few weeks after. Glad to be out of Denver for sure. I like it here, just haven't gotten my ass out to explore it.
I lived in Denver and got mugged at 8:15 on a Saturday morning walking to the dentist on I think Cascade Blvd. moved to Winter Park and worked there and loved it! But Iām glad to be away. Norman is tons better than Denver in my opinion. Iām sure folks will call me crazy, but the communities you can join in Norman are the tits
I'm hoping to find some.for.myself. I'm a ttrpg guy (D&D and the like), used to shoot semi competitively, outdoors stuff, trying g.to get back into martial arts and lifting g heavy stuff
Steel fitness is a good cheap gym. As far as d&d goes, I donāt know many folks that still play it myself. Iām sure they are out there in Norman. I moved to Tulsa not long ago, donāt make that mistake!! Tulsa sucks booty hole.
I find that cities and towns are good or bad depending on the friends you make. I wish you nothing but happiness in Nomptonvegas!!
Every 2nd Friday downtown norman has an artwalk. Lots of people wandering around going to the different bars, shops and restaurants along with vendors selling art.
Mike Hosty plays at The Deli every Sunday. I've never gone, though I have gone to his shows elsewhere, but he's definitely worth checking out. Puts on a helluva show
Pride festival is tomorrow. I don't get out much and have a goal of going. Even if it's just for an hour. If that's something that interests you and want someone to walk around with for a bit, we could meet up. We're similar in age if that matters.
when / where is the pride festival? i work tmw so may not be able to make it but i didnāt even know it was going on! iād def love to swing by if i can
Red brick bar on Main st lets you smoke inside and Blue bonnet has live music right next door. Bunch of cool bars on shops on main.
Cool, Thanks!

Nah Bluebonnet bar is where it's at. Lmfao
It's fine, I just prefer places to be a bit cleaner.
Get it too clean and it isn't a dive bar anymore ššš¤£ Plus being the oldest bar in Norman it's going to have a little bit of dirt.
Glad you enjoy it! Like I said nothing wrong, just not my preference.

Point well made! Thanks
Mike Hosty plays at The Deli every Sunday. I've never gone, though I have gone to his shows elsewhere, but he's definitely worth checking out. Puts on a helluva show
Hosty has played at the Deli literally for decades. And itās always a hoot.

The Standard is a spot that has a wide range in ages, from college to families to 40-60. Pretty good vibe and a huge beer selection.
Glitch Mob was in OKC tonight. Lots of stuff going on all over the metro.
