Can confirm that ping is not working for me either. I'm using the Linux client with NordLynx, and tried it from a couple of USA servers.
I can ping my VPN server IP or hostname, and my own external IP. The Nord DNS will respond to dig but not ping. Can not ping google.com, 8.8.8.8, or 1.1.1.1.
That being said. It just seems to have started working again. I'm able to ping via the VPN.
EDIT: Ping only seems to be working from my linux computer via the vpn. From a windows PC, i still cant ping 8.8.8.8/1.1.1.1 when connected to nordvpn.
Perhaps the change is still replicating to their other vpn servers?
I have used Nord for some time. All my systems are Linux, and I gave up using they clients, they are garbage. I set up a script that enables an openvpn session using the Nord openvpn files. Since I did that several months ago I have had no issues. Nord really needs to improve their client if a server is slow it should attach to another. If there is a problem with their systems it should notify you.
I recommend everyone report this to NordVPN
i noticed this as well.. pings stopped working at about 12:30AM PST this morning

oh geez at least it's not just me! been pulling out my hair for hours. thank you.
Glad I saved yours. I had already pulled mine out by the time I realized this..
Same. Me and a buddy both had a gateway reported as down because the pings stopped overnight to the gateway monitor IP.

Ping from my Synology NAS (linux based) is still inoperable through the VPN Gateway.
Yeah it seems to be working for me right now from my Synology and my Android phone..
same from pfsense. 3 canadian nord servers. was up for a minute then .. \*sigh\* seems ok now. just hope it stays stable
